I sunk into my chair, letting out a sigh of relief, as the door went shut, and the sound of Rowland’s receding footsteps reverberated across the hallway.
“Finally!” I exclaimed, breaking into a broad grin, I was beyond elated by Rowland’s proposal, but I had tried to suppress it earlier when he was in my office. I still didn’t want him to think he could be free with me.
If it were someone else in charge of the proposal, I might have expressed how proud I was of the ideas given, but unfortunately for Rowland, all he got was a judicious nod of approval.
