ZAIRE LEVI's POINT OF VIEW
The next morning, I woke up at 5 AM, one hour earlier than usual to jog. I successfully did a five laps jog around the mansion. The Vesaurius household's land is wide so I expected to sweat a lot that's why when I entered and passed by the open door of the entrance where the maids are and where Felicia is— I guess it doesn't take a genius how she reacted.
"What... what is that you're wearing?!" Felicia exclaimed looking at from head to toe in both horror and disgust. "You are drenched in sweat Jozine...!!"
Disgust. Oh my god, her facial expression wants me to burst out laughing. I find her face turning red in anger and frustration really entertaining.
Elise greeted me with a slight bow. "I will assist you in your bathe my lady." She offered but I shake my head. That is something I really want to do by myself. It's already awkward having them bowing at me every time what more if she assists me to bath. Dang.
"Where is Blake and the elf?" I ask while we're walking down the hallway.
"Blake is outside helping the chores my lady while the elf is in her room and doesn't want to go out unless you're with her."
I nod my head. It's good that Blake is done settling down and the elf is not causing trouble. Pff, I kinda expected her to do that to frustrate Felicia. Maybe I should as her later. Oops!
Upon reaching my room I ordered Elise to get the elf along with Blake to join us for breakfast.
"My lady, having the elf would be fine but Blake..." she trailed off. Of course I know what she wants to say. Blake is a servant, my servant and although he is one of my people, it is inappropriate for him to join us for breakfast. It will surely drive Felicia and Clarence mad.
"Don't worry. Blake's presence is needed for laters discussion. I'll see you all later."
Shutting the door close, I went to the bathroom. Mom would be attending breakfast too. This would be the first since I reincarnated that all of us will be attending breakfast because as much as possible I'd rather eat with Elise and the others than with those two.
The atmosphere is filled with heavy tension, servants that are serving the foods are shaking but trying not to mess their job because they're all aware what will happen— especially in front of Felicia and Clarence.
I can feel Felicia's eyes boring on my side frame while Clarence would glance at the elf from time to time amazed by the beautiful and flawless skin on the elf. Her eyes is filled with envy as she looks at the elf. I want to scoff.
"Thank you," I thanked the servant after pouring my cup with juice. On my left is the elf and Blake sitting silently. The elf looks unbothered by the heavy atmosphere as usual but what surprised me is how calm Blake is. I can't feel an ounce of fear or intimidation from him due to the atmosphere. To say I'm amazed is an understatement, I'm proud!
That's my boy!
"Jozine, what is the meaning of this?" Felicia asks as calmly as possible. Her voice is shaking as she reign her anger.
"I would like to properly introduce the people I came back with yesterday." I stated wiping the side of my lips. Heh, if someone would look at me right now, no one would thought I lived in the slums back on Earth, I look like a proper lady! I'm amazed of myself.
"Introduce...?" Felicia repeated eyeing me suspiciously.
I stopped myself from scoffing.
"Yes. Introduce. As I said last night, this is Blake, my subordinate and personal body guard in charge of keeping me safe while this here is," I halted. Right, I don't know this elf's name. "Her elven name cannot be disclosed. She's an ice elf as you can see."
I turn to Blake and elf, "this is Felicia Vesaurius, my biological mother, this is Clarence Vesaurius, elder sister," pff! I pointed Mom's direction in front of the lef and smiled at her, "she is Kate Bluerose, my Mom."
"... and the SECOND Mistress of this household. The concubine." Felicia snidely added.
Mom's face remained calm as she smiled at Blake and the elf. No hint of emotion regarding what Felicia added.
"It's glad to have you two here. Take of Jozine, Blake." Mom softly said glancing at me.
Blake surprised me when he stood up and slightly bowed at Mom's direction. "A pleasure to meet you, Mistress Bluerose. Please be assured that I will protect Lady Jozine with my life!"
Pff!
I think some of the them seeing his gesture and heard what he said will be having a hard time believing his claim of protecting me especially when he looks like a kid but what do they know, what do we know about Blake's ability in fighting?
I'm ready for surprises when it comes to him.
"By the way, I'll be leaving for a month." I announced.
"Huh? You're leaving again, Jozine? But you just came back..." Clarence said softly. Her voice so soft she almost sounded like an angel.
I gave her a loop-sided smile. "Yeah, right? But you know I have to. It's my responsibility for being a prodigy of this household. I hope you understand. After all, you're the eldest, I know you would know since you hold a lot of responsibilities." I gasps, "or... do you?"
Her eyes widen, she blushed out of I don't know, embarrassment or anger. What ever the reason, I'm enjoying her flush expression.
She looks away from me but she subtly glared me way to which I returned with a raised brows. Gosh, her true colors are showing.
"Stop picking a fight with your sister, you're younger than her. Learn to respect her, Jozine." Felicia warned. I face her and sheepishly smiled.
"Sure. What ever Mistress Felicia said."
"You...!" She heaved a deep sigh after eyeing me with a glare. "I cannot let you do that. You have to attend dinner parties and—"
"...humiliate this household?" I cut her off. Felicia's face contorted into confusion. "Have you forgotten? My magic base is shattered right? I am unable to use magic. You don't expect those nobles to invite me in a party just to look pretty right?"
She's clearly stunned from that fact I said. The room then once again filled with silence.
I don't consider this having breakfast anymore. I'm just thankful that I still have my appetite despite this tension and conversation. I can't miss with this wonderful food! I continued eating without regards to Felicia or Clarence, I didn't care about other people either. Rather, I focused on eating for later's training. I need to have full energy.
"Jozine, have you forgotten your table manners?! Why are you eating like a commoner?! That is utterly unladylike of you!"
I waved her off. "My table manners aren't the issue right now."
"It is!"
"The issue right now is what will happen if I attended those party. Those nobles would ask mages like myself about their magic. What would I tell them, mother?"
"That..." she trailed off unsure how to answer.
"That is why I'm leaving. I'll be training for that one month. Until then, let Clarence take part and do some of her responsibility as the eldest daughter."
I glance at Clarence who's wide-eyed. My goodness, just how much does this b***h dislike doing some work? All she does is slack off and depend on this house's wealth.
"But Clarence is—"
"Old enough to learn. How hard can it be to attend parties? Isn't that what she always does?" Except she can't handle parties that superior nobles hosts because she often feel left out. One the reason why she envy Jozine a lot because it was easy for Jozine to fit in even without trying. Heh, Jozine is after all a powerful light mage. "Let her do some paperwork too. Let her learn." So that she doesn't end up as this household's freeloader without contributing anything.
"But Mother....!"
"That or let other noble know this house no longer have a mage? That would be humiliating. Well, I'm fine on my own. I don't know about you." I mused with a shrug and continued eating.
The table fell silent once again, it was that way until the breakfast ended. Before I left the dining room, Felicia called my name and nodded her head. A single gesture that I know all too well.
"We'll be leaving again my lady?" Elise ask on my right and the elf on my left.
"Yeah. I need to train for one month." I then turns to the quiet elf. "By the way, would it be fine for you to stay with me for one month? After my training I'll send you back in the capital myself."
She glances at me and nods her head. "I've informed my family that I am safe. Although they want to fetch me here I told them not to since they have pressing matters to settle in the capital first."
"Great!"
Blake is somewhere around that house, I told him to fix his things but he just told me not to worry. I guess I should organize my things too.
"Tell Blake we'll depart tomorrow morning, Elise."
"As you wish my lady."
After fixing everything that I have to bring, I summoned the book and flipped the pages, scanning each of the spells.
I laid the book on my bed. "Fire magic." With that, the book flipped itself to the page where fire magic is from basic spells to strongest, there are Divine Level label spells too.
"Ignited Warrior." I read.
Divine Level type of spells are the highest spell of an element. In fire magic, Ignited Warrior is actually a fire spell— strong enough to create a creature, in this case a warrior, who has its own ego and follows its creators will. Once achieve, this spell increases a large amount of magic energy however, this creature will only dissipate but won't die. Meaning it can be summon again.
Whew!
As far as I'm concerned, the listed one of strongest spell in the book I once saw similar to Ignited Warrior is Scorching Dragon. It may sound stronger than that of Ignited Warrior but in truth, Scorching Dragon is only creating a fire dragon, kind of, then fusing with yourself to increase your fire magic. It's like a support magic that enable a caster's fire magic to multiply its strength. Strong but tricky because it actually exhausts one's magic energy after a single use.
I think it's not convenient. Why not just summon or contract with a fire spirit out there?
Pff, here I am again acting like a know-it-all. Anyway it's just the surface yet, I have to study this elements magic in-depth to fully comprehend.
One thing I'm sure of though is that some of the spells in the spell books that they considered and labeled strongest, they are listed in my— yes mine— book as Intermediate level.
So in this world world, their Divine Spells are Intermediate Spells in mine?
Oh ho!
'Hey book, what are these empty pages?' I called.
[Aya, call me Aya, and to answer your question, the empty pages contains Arcane Level type of spells.]
'Arcane level?'
[Yes. Arcane level. These spells are the strongest spells that mankind is not capable of casting.]
Oh wow. That sounds scary but interesting. So that's why they're empty huh. Too bad for me, I'm a human so I won't be able to cast them. Oh well. At least I got to learn something new.
'Thanks!'
[... I'm at your service. Call unto me if you have any questions, however, do not rely on me in terms of your training.]
'I understand.'
I spent my entire day reading, meditating and training in the Void of Magic. I would ask question from time to time and Aya would clarify my confusion every time I tend to misunderstand the information I read.
Finally, the day of our departure arrived, Felicia just told me to finish things quickly and left, Clarence didn't say anything and just scoff before following her. What's left is Mom.
"Jozine, I trust that you know what you’re doing. I won’t ask for anything else but your safety. Return to us safely.” She said while warmly smiling.
I nodded my head and hug her before entering the carriage with Blake as the coachman, we set off to our journey.
“Where to, my lady?”
Slowly, a smirk formed my in my lips. Where to?
Well...
“To Valyr.”
Valyr, the third town under the management of Vesaurius Household located in the border of Yabut and Muldong and is two days away from Vesaurius.
A simple village where people make a living through farming.
A simple village that is not so simple at all.
