PROLOGUE
REINCARNATED AS THE LADY PRODIGY: Prologue
~
Her Point of View*
The sweet sound of orchestral music filled the grand hall, nobles dressed in extravagant ball gowns and suits smiling while greeting each other, ladies from respected noble houses, and daughters of well-known figures are dancing elegantly with their partners of the same footing.
Nobles and wealthy figures exchanging information and expanding their influence.
"My my my, if it isn't the prodigy of this generation, Lady Vesaurius, what a pleasant surprise!" I diverted my eyes at the man dressed in a fancy white two-piece suit, the insignia of the kingdom place on the right side of his suit right above his chest, his hair is arranged perfectly showing his perfectly smiling face, even his smile is perfect. As expected of one of the Magia’s Prince.
"It's my pleasure, Prince Gavin," I said after giving respect.
"It is mine, would you mind for a dance Lady Vesaurius?" He offered his hand
I chuckle and took it, "please call me Jozine your highness." His highness placed his hand on my back and held my other hand. I can feel the eyes of other noble burning on the back of my head, I am used to it. I do not mind it at all and I am not bothered by their vulgar eyes staring at me from head to toe.
“The nobles couldn’t take their eyes off you, Lady Jozine.” Said the Prince. I laugh lightly.
“I doubt it’s me they are looking at, your highness.” The third prince only chuckles. We continued dancing paying no mind to the eye watching us and when it’s finally done, the Prince smiled at me and bowed lightly and let go of my hand after kissing it lightly. I remained smiling as I watch the prince disappeared in the crowd.
“My lady it’s time to go back,” I glance at my personal attendant and nod my head. I did not notice the time passed by as I was busy chatting with nobles before the prince asked me for a dance.
As I step out of the noble house of Bellmore, the carriage carrying the House of Vesaurius symbol is waiting for us.
“Good evening, Lady Jozine.” Greeted the coachman as he sees me. I smiled at him and took Elise’s hand to help me enter. Once I settled, Elise followed.
She is watching me while I fix my hair. “Was it tiring, my lady?” She asks, I have to stare at her for couple of seconds before I blow a loud breath and leaned against the carriage.
“That was exhausting!” I exclaimed. Elise, my lady made chuckles while I glared at her. “Never in my life do I have to act like that! I thought my lips will fall off from smiling and the smell of their perfumes! Disgusting!” Although complaining I have to keep my hair properly since Mother will be waiting for me.
Mother…
“My lady, you have always attended these types of events.” Elise reminded. I stilled and looks at her. Indeed, Jozine is used to these types of happening. She is used to this while I am not.
“That was before the accident, Elise. That was when I have to please each and every one of the noble houses and royals.” I emphasized each word.
Elise watch me and sighs, “Of course, my lady has changed—“
“For better or for worse?” I ask with raised eyebrows.
Elise smiles, “for better my lady. Actually, it’s for the best.” I laugh at that and open look outside, the capital is as lively as ever although it’s almost midnight.
This land has reminded me that I am no longer in my own world but Jozine’s, in a country named Magia where the existence of magic is only natural.
I have been living as Jozine Vesaurius, a noble lady from the House Vesaurius and a renowned house of merchants. It has been three months since I took over Jozine’s identity and her memory yet I am still lacking the key information that I need.
Especially the information about her death.
“My lady?” I glance at Elise, “are you alright?” her voice is laced with concern. I just smiled at nod my head.
I am both thankful and problematic being Jozine because of one reason.
She is a perfect prodigy from the house of Vesaurius.
A perfect noble lady and a powerful mage for her age but lies with that is the responsibility I must hold and I dislike it, no, I hate it.
Having her memory only made me realize what kind of life she lived and what type of person she is, a tool, and a total pushover. I wouldn’t call her weak, no, she just lacks courage that made her a total shell. An empty shell that is and I have been considering that the reason of her death.
How can a powerful mage like her die? Where has her soul gone to?
God!
“We have arrived my lady.” Said Elise snapping me from my thoughts. Finally, I’m back. I had a damn hard time dealing with those nobles and their fake smile, although I did the same. This isn’t easy like those nobles and mangas I used to read back on Earth.
Nah.
The Vesaurius mansion is located in the northeast of the capital holding power of five towns, it is respected beyond compare and is known as the house of the ‘Perfect Noble’. I want to cringe what the heck, I want to slap the s**t out of the person who gave this noble house’s nickname.
It’s because of that person that I’m having a hard time living as Jozine. f**k you whoever you are!
“Why is a shadow looming over your face, Jozine?”
Ah, the familiar soft voice of my mother greeted me as soon as I entered. “Good evening, Mother,” I said still frowning.
“Did you not had fun in Bellmore’s household?” She asks. I smiled at her.
“I did not, mother. I told you haven’t I? I dislike parties such as those, I would appreciate it if you refrain yourself from accepting invitation like those and make me attend in your stead.” I said and climb the stairs.
“You know why it must be you.” She said, I stop walking and rolled my eyes. “You are Jozine Vesaurius, my daughter, it is your responsibility to strive for this household’s success and follow my instruction.”
I gritted my teeth. I inhaled sharply and painted my face a sweet smile. “Me? Why is that, mother? Don’t you have another daughter? Clarence is perfect, isn’t she? Why must I burden myself with her responsibility?”
Her eyes glared at me. “You ungrateful child! You must obey my command, especially in your current state! This is the least I ask of you so you better obey—“
Ah, the f**k. My patience totally ran out. “Seriously, mother. If you are so desperate to be a prince’s mother-in-law then ask Clarence to seduce one of the princes instead because even if you threaten me with my life, I will not do it.”
“Insolent!”
“Enough!” I glared at her. This woman really, so proud of her title as Jozine’s mother yet so heartless. “I am tired of this happening every day, Felicia.” Her eyes widen upon the mention of her name. Her face turning red with rage. “Have you ever consider what Jo—, what I will feel when you are forcing me to do disgusting things, what more ordering me to seduce a prince?! Is that how a mother should teach her daughter? Are you not disgusted by your actions?”
“Do not lecture me you, ingrate! I am your mother and as long as you are under this roof’s mansion you will obey what I order you to. I am your mother—“
“You are not my mother, Felicia. You are just an egg cell donor.” I cut her off. I look at her straight in the eye without blinking. She is beautiful without a doubt, her face would catch the attention of every person in a room the moment she enters, her long blond hair and radiant blue eyes are like a mirror to a vast ocean, her beauty is ageless. But that’s just it, her face may hold the beauty that would beat Venus yet her heart is as empty as my pocket back on Earth.
“…what did you say?” She asks losing her temper.
“If being in this house will make me lose my freedom then I will leave. I still have a little respect to you so I will keep quiet about all your schemes, in return, I will no longer be part of this household!” I announced and continued walking towards my room Elise scurrying behind me. “Elise, help my Mom settle her things, we’re leaving,” I order her as we reach my room.
“Miss? Are you certain? Where will we go?”
I pat her shoulder and smiled at her, “Don’t worry about it, I got it under control. For now, fix your things and my Mom’s.” Hesitantly, Elise nodded her head and left for my Mom’s.
I closed the door and leaned against it heaving a deep sigh of relief. My lips formed a triumphant smile.
Finally, the first phase of my plan is now done.
It’s time for the second phase.
Jozine, wherever you are you should know that I am now you and you are now me.
I was given another chance to live, it is Jozine’s body that my soul has resided and to pay her back, I will do my best to protect those who she holds dear and fulfill her dreams.
In this world, I will live my life to the fullest. I will make sure that I will be strong enough to protect the important people in this life both as Jozine and Zaire.
I am Zaire Levi and this is the beginning of my story…
