Chapter 20

*After we finish reading our lines, I go back over to sit and wait for Teagan to finish. "I'm trying not to creep you out, and I'm trying not to be creeped out," "Don't feel bad, the stuff that happened to me was not your fault," I say as I grab his hand. He brings my hand to his mouth and gently kisses it. "So you'll let him kiss your hand,?" asks Rodick. "Will you also give him your first kiss,?" I blush a little embarrassed, and I try to pull my hand away, but Zair isn't having it. ''Are you leaving,?" I ask to change the subject. ''Is this the guy Teagan was talking about?" he asks as they glare at each other. "Zair, Rodick" "Rodick, Zair" I introduce them, when he still doesn't drop it. "Alpha," "Gamma," They say unimpressed. "Huh... so you guys call each other by rank, instead of using names,?" "Guys," I say as they stare each other down. "I'll see you later, guys" I say as I prepare to leave, but I can't really go far because I have to wait on Teagan. "Wait!!" they both say, and then they look at each other. It's a good thing that Teagan isn't here because she would be laughing and this is not funny, not even a little. ''I was just leaving, because I have to go pick my sister up from soccer practice," "Oh wow, she plays soccer,?'' ''I knew there was a reason why I liked her," I joke. "Yeah, you should see her play sometime, she's awesome," "I will definitely check her out," "Maybe I, can show her some moves, or maybe she can show me some" "Oh yeah, you play too, don't you,?" "We're actually not playing right now, because the season is over for us," "Well let me know when it starts and I'll go watch you, play,'' "Yeah, and bring Mikayla" "Alrighty, then, I'll see you on Friday," he says with a smile. "Okay, bye" I say as I wave. I turn to look at Zair and he looks like a kid, that just lost his puppy. "So, I don't have a chance,?" "What are you talking about, are you okay,?" I ask. "Can I talk with you in the hall,?" he asks. "Sure," I say shrugging. "How long have you known Rodick,?" he asks as he stands inches away from me. "The same amount of time, that I've known you," "Do you like him,?" "He's nice, he knows how to dress and sing and act, he's a gentleman and he's mature," "Amaya, just say yes or no!" he says as he grabs my arms. "No, I don't'' He looks relieved. "We're not, dating Zair," "Because, you don't want to," "You wanted to compete for me" I say shrugging. "I was sure to win against Raegan, because we have more things in common," "Well, at least I thought we did, until tall dark and handsome showed up," "If I had a sister, I would make her play soccer," he says as he slides his hands down to grab mine. At first I smile and then it turns into a chuckle. "Don't be jealous of Rodick, I only talk to him because he's a gentleman and not a horndog," "I don't really talk to many men, but when I do, I make sure they're not horndogs," "Well except for you," He smiles shyly, as he runs his fingers through his hair. "Why won't you let me kiss you,?" he asks, when I put my hand up to block his lips. "Because we're in school and we are nothing," "But you gave me your first kiss" he says as he looks into my eyes and lightly squeezes my hands. I smile as I remember how breathtaking it felt, and before I know it, he kisses me again, and it's just as gentle as the first time. When he pulls back, I'm too shocked and out of breath to say anything. "Be my girlfriend, Amaya," he says before he goes in for another kiss. I'm fine until he slides his hands up my back, causing me to feel weird. I pull back and punch him in the chest, then I put my foot behind his, and I push to trip him and he falls back. "Sorry, I just!" "I did it, before realizing what I was doing," As I reach down to help him up, he looks behind me and smiles awkwardly. I turn to see almost the entire cast looking at us. "How much did they see,?" I whisper. "I don't know," he says still laying on the floor. "Help me up, it's too late now," "No it's not, I can still run home and transfer schools," I say, causing him to laugh, but I'm serious. "Teagan did anyone see us kiss," I link. She shakes her head no, and I blow out a relieved breath. "Why are you always fighting guys,?" "Are you mad, cause you can't be one,?" says another one of Tammy's friends. "Is that a challenge, cause I don't mind kicking a girls butt too," I say as I step towards her. "Aya no, she's not worth it," "I'm taking up for you, Alpha," she says while pouting. "Thank you, but there is no need," "Her brother is one of the lead fighters, so she was showing me a move, that she put together herself," "Everyone needs to have some type of training," "Right Aya," I nod. "Yes, they do," "Now, if you'll all excuse me, I have to go on my run," "Let's go, Teags," I say before I turn to leave. I'm acting tough, but I'm trying to leave before they start asking more questions. "Aya!" calls Zair, running towards me, as I'm about to get into my car. "Can I see you later,?" He asks. Teagan smiles with wide eyes. "How about, tomorrow after school?" "Today, has been hectic," "Okay, my house or yours,?" "Mine!" I say quickly. "Hey, you can come to my house too," "We can stay in the living room, if you don't trust my room," "Maybe, another day" I say shrugging. "You heard her," He says to Teagan as she looks at me with wide eyes. "Help me to remind her later,'' "Hey, you are my Alpha, not hers," "Her loyalty, is with me," "Nope, she's mates with my Gamma, so she's a part of the pack too," "Well, you're still just, Alpha Jr.," "And you're my Luna, so you're supposed to be on my side," he says with a smirk. "I haven't accepted the position, yet," "I'll take it!" says Tammy from behind Zair. "He's already offered the position to someone else" I say still looking at him with my bluff face on. "I'm going to talk with her today," he says as he tries to grab my moving hands. "So you're going to see her?" "I don't think she'll let me see her," "I'll probably have to link with her," "Oh wow, such an intimate setting" I say to mess with him. He smiles and playfully rolls his eyes. "I have been with you for years and you try to get two other women to be your Luna!" "You never offered it to me, not even once," "I also never asked you to be my girlfriend either, Tammy!" (I honestly, forgot she was here) She doesn't say anything and he looks as if he regrets, having said it. "It seems like he just gives the position to anyone, so maybe, if you wait you'll be next," I say as I shrug. "I promise, you are my Luna, Aya," "She doesn't even like you Zair," she says sadly. "Yes she does, she just doesn't know it yet," he says as he grabs my hand. "I do like him, I'm just not going to throw myself at him," I say confidently. "Not that, that's what you're doing," I add, even though that's what she has always done, her and her so called friends. "I already told you Tammy and I thought you understood," "I'll talk to you later, Zair," "Wait!" "Listen Tammy, I'm trying to talk to my Luna okay!" She rolls her eyes and walks off. "Don't tell anyone else that, okay," "Why not, it's true,?" he says as he stands inches in front of me again. "You feel it too," he says, as his breathing deepens. "I'm just going to kiss your forehead, okay" he whispers. ''Okay" I whisper back. He lifts my chin and pecks my lips, then he kisses my forehead. ''You think you're slick, huh?" I say with a smirk. He smiles and caresses my cheek and I grab his hand, not liking the feel of it. "You've got a strong grip for a Gamma," I release his hand and I push him, but he doesn't budge. "Do you have cement in your shoes?" I ask, he laughs and takes a step back. "I'll see you tomorrow," he says before he turns to walk away. I watch as he walks to his car, and he smiles when he sees me still looking. I stick my tongue out at him, then I get inside of my car. "That was... interesting'' says Teagan. "I forgot you were here," "I had to get inside of the car, because I couldn't stop laughing at you" "When you are taunting him with the Yaya talk," "What is he going to say, when he finds out that it's you,?" "I have no idea, but I like messing with him" I say with a smile. "You just like him," she says as she pokes at my arm. "A little" I say as I hold my fingers an inch apart.
