Chapter 12: Doyle had sat in his chair since Carl brought him to the empty flat. All he ever did was sit in the chair and watch the abandoned theater across the street. Doyle hadn’t bathed nor shaved in days, not that there was anyone he needed to impress, but he was beginning to feel more like a bear than human. If it hadn’t been for Carl’s daily visits, he might have left before he healed, searching the streets for answers that he knew he would never find. The hallway outside the room remained relatively silent, except for Carl’s visit each evening. This day near lunch, Doyle rose when he heard voices outside his door.
