Chapter 3 His Mother!

726 Words
"You—" Isabella raised her hand to slap Lena, but Lena easily dodged it, smirking as she left Quest's party. Lena's car pulled up in front of her apartment building, and the car that had been tailing her came to a stop as well. Several rough-looking men got out and surrounded her. Lena guessed they were sent by Isabella. She looked them over coolly, not saying a word. The leader, a bald man, eyed Lena up and down, a regretful smile on his face. "Such a pretty face. Should we have some fun with her first, or just kill her and have some special fun?" The men laughed, leering as they closed in. Lena narrowed her eyes. A few minutes later, they were all on the ground, incapacitated. Still in her evening gown, Lena's figure was highlighted as she fought, her movements a blend of grace and power. Her flowing hair added a touch of softness to her fierce demeanor. She stood there proudly, bathed in the golden light like a victorious goddess. As Lena stepped over the bodies and headed for the stairs, she heard clapping from above. She looked up to see a handsome young boy standing in the hallway, smiling at her. His eyes were a striking mix of blue and violet, like crystals catching the light. "Wow, you look so cool when you fight, even cooler than my dad!" At the mention of his father, Lena saw the tall, handsome man standing beside the boy. Her heart skipped a beat. The man looked like a masterpiece sculpted by a divine hand, his features perfect and captivating. His aura was commanding, exuding a natural authority that made people hesitate to look directly at him. This father and son had apparently been watching her for some time, and while Lena was a bit surprised, she didn't feel offended. Lena felt a strange, instinctive connection to this man and his son, even though it was their first meeting. "Hello," Lena greeted them with a nod. As Lena climbed the stairs, she realized they lived next door to her. The boy was still waiting at the door, and he ran up to her with a happy smile as she approached. Seeing his innocent smile, Lena couldn't help but smile back. "Sweetheart, are you my new neighbor?" The boy eagerly replied, "Yes! My daddy has business here, so we'll be staying in Las Vegas for a while." "What's your name? I'm Finch. But you can call me sweetheart. I like it when you call me that!" Finch tilted his head, looking adorably clueless. Lena chuckled, reaching out to ruffle Finch's hair. "I'm Lena. But you can't tell anyone, okay?" Finch nodded enthusiastically. "Okay!" "Excuse me?" the man behind Finch said, his deep, captivating eyes fixed on Lena. There it was again... This man inexplicably made her feel at ease, despite his regal demeanor and cold expression. He reminded her of someone from seven years ago... Seven years ago, she had been swept out to sea by a storm and washed ashore on an island. There, she spent years that transformed her, meeting a man who changed her life. If her child had survived, he might be Finch's age now. Snapping back to reality, Lena met the man's gaze and said, "I was just joking with Finch. I'm Lena Nightingale." "Kylin Kingsley," he introduced himself, his voice deep and sensual, making Lena's ears tingle. Finch, displaying good manners, noticed Lena hadn't changed out of her dress yet and quickly bid her goodbye before heading inside with Kylin. After Kylin closed the door, he turned to Finch. "Who would have thought you could play innocent so convincingly?" Finch stuck his tongue out at Kylin. "I didn't want to scare Lena by showing her how smart I am." Finch took a few steps toward his bedroom and then stopped abruptly. "Daddy, you still haven't told me why you wanted to find Lena." Kylin looked down at Finch. "You seem to like her. How about I make her your mommy?" Finch put his hands on his hips, looking comically indignant. "True, I like her, but don't you? You obviously do, so don't use me as an excuse." A rare smile appeared on Kylin's stern face as he patted Finch's head. Finch didn't know yet that Lena was his biological mother!
