Rain POV
Caleb was gone longer than expected, causing me to anxiously tap my foot in the sitting room. As I looked towards the entrance, I could see the faint glow of sunlight streaming through the windows, casting a warm, golden hue on the furniture.
I felt a presence beside me and turned to see Colson, who sat down with a mischievous grin. "Worried the kid is fighting with the lizard?" he asked, teasingly. I playfully rolled my eyes. "You know I'm a dragon as well." I responded. My remark elicited a hearty laugh from Colson, as well as Kali, who had joined us. "Yes, you are a mighty ice dragon, even in stuffed animal size, while he's just a lizard to me," Colson said, still chuckling.
Amidst our laughter, I couldn't help but glance at the door again, my worry resurfacing.
