Chapter Four
Delores Jackson
"Come on, help me pick a dress, I have a date with this hot millionaire." Delilah stated as she ran to our combined closet to choose.
"Is it with Jordan?"
"No, silly. That rich man is out of town so I can now be at peace to go out and have fun." She laughed, throwing her black hair back in the process.
"What fun again? He takes you everywhere money can take you.... "
"That's the point, twin sister, he does that and misses the real point of fun. He's so formal and doesn't know how to have much fun. He's a rich bag who can't be seen around cheap clubs but that's where the real fun is." She explained as she pulled out a black hot dress.
"So I'll have that cheap fun while he's out."
"Maybe if you tell him, he'll go that extra mile to make you happy."
"You never understand me, I wonder why God made us twins, He should've chosen someone smarter." She huffed and left the room.
****
I awoken from that reverie and found myself in this big fluffy bed in a big room.
I sat up, rubbing my eyes.
I looked around and everything rushed into memory. Delilah had ran away and had left me to cover up her tracks. She just left me a letter and nothing else.
The letter didn't even explain much and we can't even reach her.
I groaned and raked my fingers through my hair in agitation. My life is gradually changing and there was little I could do now.
The worst is replacing her in Jordan's life. I feel worse about that part but what can I do?
It's like a dying wish from her and I had to honour it.
I threw the covers off my body and got down from the bed. The room was so large that I felt so small in it.
I turned to the couch where Jordan offered to sleep and it was empty. He was an early riser.
That's good so I won't be seeing him more often. This was going to be good.
I entered the bathroom and was astonished to see a very naked Jordan Lancaster and he was fast enough to cover his prized possession before I saw them.
I screamed and covered my eyes, and stepped back, shutting the door.
I felt so embarrassed when I heard him chuckle in the bathroom. He was laughing at me?
I placed my palm on my chest as I took in deep breaths, trying to calm down. What if I had seen his gifts?
Oh I feel so embarrassed.
I slapped my cheeks softly.
I heard the door to the bathroom open and I didn't turn, I just remained rooted in my stand and I heard him chuckle again.
"I'm dressed now." He stated and I stood there for a while before I turned. But he wasn't fully dressed, he only had on a clean pair of boxers and no shirt.
He was wiping the water from his dyed black hair.
"You exaggerate things, Delores." He chuckled.
"What am I exaggerating? It's not good at all to see you naked, you are Delilah's fiancé."
"I'm her fiancé so what?" I could see the anger in his voice. His mood had just changed at the mention of my sister's name and that made me shudder.
He walked over to his closet and took out his leather jacket and a shirt.
"And about that unfeeling Delilah, I give her up to the eve of our wedding, if she doesn't show up, I'll marry you." He spat sternly and I thought he was kidding but nothing showed.
"I don't think she'll be back by then, and about the marriage thing, I'll marry you.... "
"Are you aware of what you're signing up for?"
"She begged me and it's like a promise."
"Aren't you scared that she won't return? I'm sure you have a boyfriend."
"She will return, I'm sure. She'll come back, I believe something unavoidable came up that's why. She'll come back."
"And if she doesn't come back, are you aware that you're literally stuck with me?"
"Stop it. She'll come back." My voice broke and I dropped my gaze to the floor as I walked past him but he grabbed my arm and pulled me back to stand in front of him.
"I have a feeling that you know where Delilah is. Why don't you tell me and things will run smoothly here?" He stared down at me.
"I don't know." I looked away.
He stood there for a while and let me go, walking past me to the full length mirror.
"Your mother called for money again. If you'll go see her today, tell me so I can alight you there."
"No. I want to go see Alvin. He's my boyfriend. Because of things, I haven't been seeing him." I told him.
"Alright but like I said, be discreet when you are with him, I don't want any scandal."
I nodded and entered the bathroom.
Mechanic Shop
"Please, I'm looking for Alvin." I asked one of the mechanics in the shop and he pointed to the back.
"He's attending to a customer's car at the back."
I nodded and walked over. He was fixing something under the car and I stood there and cleared my throat.
He peeped and saw me. He quickly came out and was about to hug me when he saw how grimy and oily he is.
I didn't care and hugged him tightly.
"I've missed you so much, Alvin."
Tears pricked in my eyes.
"Honey, what are you doing here?" He laughed.
I let him go and took in a deep breath.
"There's something I need to tell you, Alvin, it's very important."
He frowned.
"You are scaring me, Delores, what is it?"
"Delilah ran away again."
He scowled at me.
"Don't tell me you have replaced her in that Lancaster house again? When will she stop asking you to do that?"
"She said this is the last time, Alvin and mum's ill again.... "
"But I'm trying to raise the money."
"Mum said the surgery is now getting to a billion. Jordan has already made the deposit."
Alvin turned from me.
"I don't trust that rich bag one bit, Delores, you should know you're mine and no one else's" He cupped my cheeks and brushed his nose against mine lovingly.
I grabbed his hand too.
"I know, Alvin and like I said, this is the last time. I won't do that again."
"I'm scared, Delores, remember the last time you pretended to be your sister, he almost made love to you."
"That didn't happen."
Alvin was right, it was Delilah's birthday and Jordan had organised a dinner for her but she begged me to replace her and I did.
It was a narrow escape.
****
"I hope you'll spend the night here with me, huh?" He whispered as he led me to his room.
Once we entered, he closed the door and pinned me to the door, lowering his head and crushing his lips against mine, catching me by surprise.
I remained still before I responded to his hot kiss.
"Spend.... The night here, huh? ..... don't leave me......" He said in between the kisses, making my heart race.
I needed to act calm so he wouldn't suspect I wasn't Delilah.
He lifted my hem of my dress and ran his fingers on my thighs. I bit my lips , preventing myself from moaning when his lips left mine and he suck on my neck.
I wanted to stop him but he was so good. He's my sister's boyfriend and I shouldn't be doing this but I had no strength to push him away.
His roaming fingers travelled up and touched me down there and I quickly held his hand, making him stop.
"What's wrong, Delilah?" He asked, his eyes full of emotion.
Then his phone rang and he had no choice but to pick it up. I let go of his hand and he took out the phone.
Thankfully , it was an emergency. He was needed at the hospital.
***
"I'm safe, Alvin. This time he knows I'm not Delilah."
Alvin just stared at me and I felt bad.
"I'll die if I lose you, Delores. You mean too much to me. So where's he?"
"In the car. He came here with me."
"I want to talk with him. Where's that man?" He walked out and I was trying to stop him but he walked out .
Jordan was waiting in the backseat of the Chevrolet. Alvin stopped beside the car.
"Hey, I want to speak with you." He called and Jordan wrinkled his nose at him.
He sat in the car but rolled the window down so Alvin could talk.
"I mean step down and let's talk mano a mano." Alvin said again and Jordan hesitated before he stepped down.
"Don't do this, Alvin." I warned.
"I won't stop this, Delores, let me do this."
He walked away.
"Wait for me in the car, Delores, I'll be back." Jordan said calmly and I reluctantly nodded.
