~Aneria's POV~
"How many times do I have to tell you guys that I AM NOT HIDING ANYTHING from you?"
I threw my hands in the air filled with frustration, why does not my family seems to understand my words? It's been a week since that incident took place or I should say my wolf's transformation took place but my family looks nowhere near ready to acknowledge my words.
I don't remember what happened after that soothing therapy that happened at the water temple and based on what Ash told me, Reva was in charge that night.
I asked her multiple times but instead of the same statement that I've been giving to my family, she has spoken nothing. So, it's true, I'm not lying at all.
I shook my head from the smiling yet not-so-convinced faces of my family members and chose to head somewhere else. My eyes fell on Evan's door and a sigh escape my mouth, It's been a long time since I had a peaceful conversation with Evan. He is always busy taking care of his mate who just lost her whole family in an accident.
We still don't know her whole story as it gives her panic attacks while talking about the demise of her family but one thing she already put together, she wasn't a rogue from the beginning; that attack made her rogue. She was visiting her pack with her family when she was attacked by rogues.
But mom and dad couldn't figure out why rogues attacked them as we are on a peace treaty with them. It's been years since this peace treaty took place and without having any final word with King and Queen, no rogue attacks any wolf now.
"Did you talk to Stella?"
Curses left my mouth at Ash's reminder. How can I forget to speak to her? She kept checking up on me like a mother even though she left right after our birthday but here my ungrateful ass didn't bother to check up on her.
Ash's observation couldn't be wrong and the way she left without saying goodbye to most of the people in our family, makes us more suspicious about her.
"Going to talk to her now. Don't worry I will let you know."
His large pent-up breath was clear in our link and I couldn't stop myself from rolling my eyes, our brother's protectiveness is excessive for us.
I was moving toward my room when someone grabbed my arm and quickly turned me around almost twisting my ankle.
"Ow Ann it's me!" Evan yelled looking at his frozen hand.
"You shouldn't have turned me like that." I smiled while melting the ice off his hand.
"I hate when you do these stunts. No one is going to hurt you in your home."
"Awww big muscular bear is scared of little icy stunts..." I batted my lashes at him which gave rise to a smirk on his face, "Well...we'll see that on the training grounds soon little one."
I smirked back recalling our training sessions, they are fun and exciting. And with Aunt Emily, Ash, and my powers laced together, our training is always way more than exciting.
I raised my brows as his breaths became louder and his eyes started moving between his room and me. He ran his hand through his hair and said, "Would you mind talking to Beth? She said she feels comfortable around water and she felt your energy while you were passing by."
I shrugged my shoulders, "Why would I mind? Maybe we'll be able to find out more about her. And it will be good to have some words with my sister-in-law."
An idiotic grin started making its way to his face and I stormed toward his room before he could give me his famous and not-so-loveable hug. Girls fall for that hard squeeze and wish to be in his arms forever but I... My bones will fall apart in his loving hug. May the moon goddess bless his mate.
I knocked on the gate twice but there was no response from the inside. Is she alright?
I looked behind me for Ev but there were no signs of him either. However, I stepped inside the room when there was no response from the inside.
Beth was leaning against the window lost in her world. I can't imagine how difficult this is for her. Losing her family at such a young age and witnessing all of that happening in front of you, never...no one should ever go through this trauma.
I shudder with the scary thought that appeared in my mind. I don't even want to imagine anything happening to my family.
Not wanting to scare her, I paused for a moment to consider how to begin our first conversation. She has never spoken to anyone except Ev, aunt Cassie, and mom.
"You never thought twice before saying anything," Reva said in a sleepy voice.
"Someone is back from her silent vacation?"
"Huh? Me? I was just tired after that shift. You know that was unexpected and...I kind of need more rest. Tada."
I sighed, something is definitely wrong with her. This is not the Reva that I know for the past two years. Her words and her voice...they don't sync with each other.
"Hi...how long are you planning to stand at the doorstep?"
Beth's voice took me out of my little worry world and my worries about her getting panic attacks loosened up a bit. Maybe she will feel comforted in my presence if Ev's theory of her feeling my energy was true.
I smiled at her and asked, "I didn't want to scare you. Would you mind if I join?"
She shook her head with a tiny smile appearing on her face and sat at the corner of the bed motioning me to join her.
I must admit my cousin got a beautiful mate. Long brown hair with deep brown eyes makes a perfect combination with her light skin tone. And her cheekbones...god, I wish I could have the same! They are so high and good...I just love them!
A frown settled on her face when I gazed too long at her cheeks. I pouted, "Sorry... it's just...you are pretty and I love your cheekbones."
She tucked a hair strand behind her ear and said shyly, "Thank you. But everyone knows who is the talk in our supernatural world. First is always our werewolf queen and then her daughter who is her replica with her father's eyes. Both of you...your beauty is incomparable."
"Thank you, that's a huge one. Umm...do you like it here? I mean, I know it's difficult but are you comfortable? Especially around none other than Evan?"
She is at ease in front of me but that little bug of her getting panicked is still nagging me. I don't want her to cry because of me. Not when she is still healing.
She took a deep breath and smiled, "You are a water elemental wolf right?"
I knitted my brows, how does she know about this? We never told anyone about us being elemental wolves.
However, people knew that we have such powers after elemental temples were built in our pack but dad and mom made sure that no one gets to know which of their kids got which power.
Some still believe that Ian and Archer are elemental wolves like their mother. So us having special power is yet not confirmed in our world.
"You both radiate your energy. Though it's not easy to tell who has what as you both are twins and I guess you both keep sharing your energies. But the blazing aura he carries and the soothing waves you hold...tells everything about you both."
Her smile didn't budge even for a second while she was talking and the way she was admiring our powers tells she knows so much about elemental wolves. About us.
"You know so much..." I said with a raised brow.
I thought our 'first talk' will be about her but the way she turned the tables was unexpected.
"I know," she giggled.
"I've done my research on elemental wolves and my senses are stronger than usual werewolves," she added.
Her head lowered a bit and she started playing nervously with her fingers. She looked at the door and said, "I...I wanted to tell this Evan first but didn't know how. I feel comfortable in your presence; I think I should tell you now."
She feels comfortable in my presence instead of her mate's presence? Her words weren't making any sense to me. And what does she want to tell us?
A knock on the door came and Ev popped his head inside, "I hope I'm not disturbing any girly discussion?"
I shook my head, "No. You came at the right time. Your mate was about to tell us something. To both of us."
I looked at Beth who was taking deep breaths to calm her nerves and motioned her to continue from where she left. She looked between both of us and said, "I hope I can trust you both."
Tears pooled in her eyes as she said this and Ev instantly embraced her in his warmth assuring her that her trust will not be broken ever.
She was holding on to him so tightly as if she will fall at any moment. She looked at me straight in the eyes and...moon goddess...her eyes! Her eyes are blazing silver!
My mouth hung open, "You are a silver wolf..."
