~Aneria's POV~
"Give me my makeup back."
"How the heck he is supposed to give you your cakey things this way!"
Ian yelled while looking dumbfounded at his twin who was hanging upside down in his room.
I smiled at Archer's horrified face, he started inhalation through his mouth since I stepped into this room fidgeting my fingers.
"Now Cowpie, will you tell me where my things are? These ropes are made of water, they can't hold your massive body for long and you'll end up kissing the ground instead of a pretty lady at dinner."
"Aunt Ser-"
I sealed the twin's lips with an icing layer and glared at Archer, he won't be giving up easily. I moved my palm to shake the ropes I made with ice making cowpie juggle a lot. I smirked at his heavy breaths and he motioned towards the door, is someone heading this way? But I can't sense anyone. Especially not my parents.
I quickly melted the ice from his lips and he caught his breath, "They...they are...in-"
The door burst open and my eyes widened, damn...it's Stella. I thought it was mom. Wait...Stella? She is back!
"I thought you won't be coming," I said while enveloping her in a bear hug.
"How can I miss my little giggles' birthday and Mushy's crowning?" She giggled.
"You know he doesn't have those soft cheeks now."
I laughed remembering how Ash quarreled with Stella when she called him this in front of a girl.
"And yeah there will be no crowning happening today. He wants to wait for his mate." I added.
She nodded in agreement and moved her eyes toward her annoying brothers who waved at her with sly smiles on their faces. She shook her head and said, "Let them go Ann. They hid your makeup in my room as they know you won't be searching there. Let's get you ready."
Well...I didn't try to search anywhere. I just barged in and started seeking answers.
"Now you won't even hug us!" Ian complained seeing us making our way out of their room.
"Ann! You can't leave me like this!"
"Sorry cowpie."
I giggled and made him fall on the bed with the help of waves.
"Change the sheets, clean the room and dad won't know you try to trouble Ann on her birthday." Stella gave them a warm yet threatening smile and we made our way out.
God, I missed her a lot. She was persistent about continuing her studies in the city and left pack two years ago. She is the one who can understand my pain of putting up with Ian and Archer. Though I love them still our relationship is not so different from a cat and mouse relationship.
I gathered my things and took my time to get ready for the party. I've always loved dressing up simple yet classy. Shine and shimmer are just not my things. And the sleek look that this dress was giving me with matching make-up is what I always expect from myself.
"Ah-ha. Elegance has always been your thing, Ann. And these curves...I'll have them soon." Stella whistled and gave her victory smile.
I gazed at myself in the mirror one last time and a sexy smirk started making its way on my way face. Stella is right. My curves are perfectly clinging to the dress and my long black hair which I choose to leave straight as they are is lying on my bare back. They look perfect. All credit goes to mom for the beauty that I've got. If it wasn't for her genes, I don't know how would I've been looking right now.
"Yeah. You only got green eyes. Not blue. Otherwise, you would've called blue lady today." Reva gave her weird wolfy laugh.
Blue lady...does suit me pretty well.
My eyes started wandering in the crowd as I descended the stairs. Where is he? He has always been the one who was always waiting for me at the end of the staircase. But today, it seems something more important equipped him.
Before I could climb down the leftover stairs, a hand from my right appeared and his voice rang in my ears, "Sorry to be behind time princess. Your mother couldn't decide what her old father should wear on her kid's birthday."
I quirk my brow, "Who said you are old? You might be my grandpa but you look the same as you used to do when I was a kid. Nothing is changed, grandpa."
I kissed grandpa's cheek and he led me to the place where everyone was waiting for my arrival.
"Finally someone decided to grace us with her presence," Claire said dramatically bowing to me.
"You look pretty," Aliyah said while hugging me.
"And you look beautiful. This dress compliments your eyes." Aliyah smiled but her smile didn't reach its fullest. Something is bothering her.
I placed my hand on hers and she sighed, "I know I still have two years but my eighteenth birthday scares me a lot. What if I am..."
Her voice died down at the end and gave me a pang in my chest. Please moon goddess don't let our fears come true.
"Hey don't be worried. Maybe you'll also become a werewolf only, not a vampire or hybrid." I tried to cheer her.
Aunt Hailey is a vampire and Uncle Grayson is a werewolf. We all were frightened on Damien's 18th birthday but eventually, he ended up being a werewolf only. Now, Aliyah's eighteenth birthday is coming closer and that concern is getting back into our heads. We can only hope and pray that the hybrid thing never takes place.
She hopefully smiled and I felt a hand on my shoulder, "So how's my little cousin doing?" Damien wriggled his brows.
I poked his cheeks, "You are only three days older than me cousin. If it wasn't for that fight and early delivery, you would be at least a month younger than me."
"Nevertheless, still a big brother." He tried to muffle my hair but I yanked his hand away. No one can mess with my beautiful hair.
My eyes moved to Stella who started zoning out. I mind-linked her asking about the same and she mentioned not seeing Ash and Ev around. Well, they are missing. It's Ash's birthday too, where is he? And Evan? It's been hours since I saw him.
I was about to mind link my on the nose brothers when I saw dad and uncle Eric heading out of our place with stern looks on their faces. Though they were smiling while looking at the guests but I know what firmness their eyes held. I hope my brothers are not in any mess.
I looked at mom for some answers and she smiled, "Don't worry princess; everything is fine. Evan has found his mate. She is a rogue and needs some medical attention. They'll be back soon, sweetheart."
Evan found his mate?
"You found your mate and you didn't bother to tell me!" I hollered at him without a second thought.
"Sorry; she isn't doing well. Mind if we get into the details later?"
His broken voice made me slap my head; how stupid I can be? Mom already told me that she needs medical attention still I acted like a child.
"Hope you didn't mind me behaving like the little one that you suppose me to be. Cheer up Ev; mom will heal her."
"Yeah...she is healing her."
I looked around and searched for mom, maybe she walked out when I was busy soothing Evan.
It's been almost an hour; mom, dad, and Ash are back but Evan, Uncle Eric, and Aunt Cassie are still in the hospital looking after their daughter in law. Yeah, that's what they are already calling her without even knowing her. This is a specialty of my family, mates are family whether you know them or not.
I tried to keep my focus on the party but I don't know what was happening to me. I want to be a part of the celebration which is meant for me but for some unknown reason, I can't enjoy a bit of the celebration. There is a burning sensation in my body and an invisible pull toward something or I should say someone. But I can't identify who. And asking my wolf is of no use; she is as helpless as I am.
"You alright little one?" Ash asked while placing his arm on my shoulder.
"Yeah...I...I just need a walk outside."
What is happening to me? The way I've talked to Ash is making him worry about me as I'm not the one to leave all the attention behind. But this overwhelming feeling inside me...why do I feel like there are eyes on me?
"Cause it's your birthday..." Reva groaned.
I closed my eyes trying to shake the uneasiness off but it only appeared to be surging inside me. I tried to search for the eyes that are making me miserable but couldn't find any.
"Let's get you outside little one." Ash pulled me against him and without making anything evident, he led me out of the castle.
