CHAPTER SIXTEEN.
Oliver was so angry that Alyana almost lost her life trying to save someone else's life.
"What if you got hit by the car, you can't just jump into the road like that without thinking about yourself." Oliver berated Alyana.
"Calm down Oliver, I didn't get hurt, I just couldn't stand to see that kid get hurt. My conscience would judge me if I did not save him." Alyana replied.
"Don't you ever try that again young lady, promise me you won't Alyana, I can't imagine losing you," Oliver said, making Alyana's heart flutter.
"I won't do that again Oliver, I promise," Alyana replied.
"Are you sure you didn't get hurt anywhere, we don't need to go to the hospital right?" Oliver asked worriedly.
"I'm fine Oliver, let's get going, it's getting late," Alyana said, picking up her bag.
"Okay, Alyana," Oliver said before getting his stuff to leave.
After the long ride, Oliver finally got to Alyana's home. They bid one another good night before Oliver left.
Oliver reached home and was parking his bike when he heard his name.
"Oliver," Violet called out.
"What is it this time Violet?" Oliver asked.
"I have been calling you all day but you haven't been returning my calls, Are you trying to avoid me?" Violet asked.
"I am," Oliver replied nonchalantly.
"Listen to me Oliver, let me make it clear to you, I wasn't trying to talk you into reconsidering my plan against Alyana," Violet explained.
"That was your Violet, you want me to hurt Alyana," Oliver replied angrily.
"I just want you back Oliver, I still love you so much," Violet said hugging Oliver.
"Violet stop it, you're drunk so get off me," Oliver said, shoving Violet away.
"Oliver I love you please stop pushing me away, I want to be with you Oliver. I am willing to change for you," Violet let out crying.
"I don't feel the same way Violet, just get going," Oliver said
"Is it because of Alyana?" Violet asked.
"Will you quit dragging Alyana into this, I don't want to create any trouble," Oliver mumbled.
"But you like her, why does she get everything without striving for it." Violet let out shouting.
"Calm down Violet, let's talk when you get back to your right state of mind," Oliver said.
"Goodness, I hate her so much," Violet said, tossing the earrings she wore into the dustbin.
Oliver didn't know what to say to Violet anymore so he got on his bike and zoomed off leaving her in tears.
Alyana entered the living room smiling like a child that was awarded a pack of sweets. She saw Violet in the sitting room standing so she greeted her.
"Hi," Alyana greeted, still smiling.
"Hi, what's up with the smile?" Violet asked
"Real good vibes I guess," Alyana replied.
"That's great because this will be the right time to let you know," Violet said.
"Is something wrong Violet?" Alyana asked worriedly.
"Alyana, I lost the earrings you lent me." Violet let out.
"How did you lose it? I told you to take care of it because it means a lot to me, I told you my mama gave them to me. Try to remember where you went last, come on I will go with you, let us try finding them." Alyana said motioning to Violet to come.
"No Alyana, it is of no use because I have looked all over for it but I didn't find it," Violet replied.
"What did you just say? No use, you begged me to lend you those earrings after I told you how important it was to me, what you did was irresponsible." Alyana replied angrily.
"Watch your words Alyana, I was not being irresponsible, I looked everywhere for those earrings but couldn't find them," Violet let out yelling.
"You didn't care because it wasn't your Violet, accept it, you are irresponsible," Alyana said looking at Violet.
What Alyana said angered Violet, making them continue arguing until Mr.Edmund heard them and came out quickly.
"What is causing all the screaming and arguments this evening?" Mr.Edmund asked but got no reply because the girls were too engrossed in getting on one another's necks.
"What is going on? One of you better replies me now before I lose my patience." Mr.Edmund demanded angrily.
"Daddy Henry, I don't know why Alyana is picking a fight with me?" Violet replied, moving closer to Mr.Edmund.
"Papa, she lost my earrings, the one mama gave to me before she passed away. She is so irresponsible." Alyana said, making Violet angrier.
"Stop calling me irresponsible Alyana." Violet let out grinding her teeth.
"Violet, you borrowed someone's jewelry but didn't return it, that's so irresponsible of you, go and look for Alyana's earrings now." Mr.Edmund said angrily.
"Why? I Said I am sorry daddy, I looked everywhere for those earrings but couldn't find them, I can just pay for the earrings if you like," Violet said, making Alyana angry.
"No amount of money can replace those earrings, excuse me," Alyana said before walking to leave.
"Alyana, where are you going?" Mr.Edmund asked.
"I am going to look for mama's earrings, by myself," Alyana replied, making Violet grin.
Alyana went to the office, she asked where and where violet went, she entered the meeting office and went under the table to check for the earrings. She was mumbling to herself when she heard the door open.
"Alyana, what's brought you back to the office?" Oliver asked.
"Nothing Oliver, what brings you here?" Alyana asked.
"I am here to submit some forms to the Hr office and before I forget, I was supposed to give this to you tomorrow but since you are here, take it," Oliver said, passing Alyana an envelope.
"It is from what I owe you, sorry it took me a little longer to give it back to you," Oliver said, apologizing.
"Oliver, you didn't have to pay me back, take it as my way of helping Nanay," Alyana said, giving Oliver back the envelope.
"Forget about it Alyana, I don't want money to get in the way of our friendship," Oliver said.
"Okay, if you insist," Alyana said.
"By the way, why did you come back to the office?" Oliver asked.
"Nothing really, I was just looking for something important to me. I have searched the whole place but couldn't find it no matter how hard I looked. I wouldn't know what I would do if I lost them forever." Alyana explained getting teary.
"You're getting teary Alyana, what is it that you're looking for exactly?" Oliver asked.
"What I am looking for is special, it was given to me by my mama, it is her earrings," Alyana explained, cleaning her tears.
"Earring?" Oliver asked.
"It looks like those earrings are gone, actually Violet asked me to lend them to her but she didn't return them, she lost my mama's earrings," Alyana said crying.
"It is okay Alyana, stop crying," Oliver said, hugging her.
After Oliver consoled Alyana, he went back to the place where Violet tossed the earrings into. He wore gloves and searched the waste bin until he found the earrings. He smiled like he won the lottery.
"What on earth is happening to me, I just went through the garbage to find Alyana's earrings. Am I going crazy?" He asked himself.
"Maybe I am going crazy, because of Alyana." He replied to himself smiling before going home.
