Lillian’s POV:
It’s a Saturday.
I like Saturdays since Nick always spends Saturdays with me. He told me we would do something different today compared to other Saturdays where we just laze around on the couch.
I'm disappointed; I really like lazing around on the couch while he scratches my tummy.
Today, we are doing something call shopping at the mall.
Skipping down the hallway holding Nick’s hand, I twirl in the sunflower dress with a white hat and golden flip flop. Nick is wearing a typical t-shirt with brown shorts and black shoes. According to Kim, I am more in style.
“Okay Lulu, let’s go over the rules again. Rule number 1,” Nick said holding up a single finger.
“Always hold your hand,” I response swinging our arms back and forth.
He turns around and starts walking backward, facing me. “Rule number 2?”
I point one finger in the air, copying his previous actions. “Never let go of your hand.”
He pinches my cheek with his free hand. “Rule number 3?”
“Holding your arm is optional if I get sick of holding your hand,” I reply with my back straighten, proud that I memorize all three rules.
He stands there, nodding, pleased with my response. At the stairs, he stops walking backward and wraps his arms around my waist. “Pop?” He whispers into my ear.
I can feel the blood rushing towards the area where he breathes in along with pleasant sparkly sensation in the area he touches. Whenever Nick touches a body part of mine, it feels like there are millions of sparkles traveling throughout my body.
Nick says he feels it too.
“Corn,” I mumble.
He positions his face in front of mine and rubs our nose against one another. Gently, he laid a kiss on my lip while my hands play with his hair.
I snuggle closer together to Nick as we watch the movie called 50 First Date. Nick told me I would enjoy the movie, something about all the girls liking this movie. He isn’t wrong, I like the movie.
It’s umm.......‘What’s the word for it, Daisy?’
‘Cute,’ Daisy responded.
Ah yes, it’s cute.
Laying on Nick’s shoulder, I munched on the yummy popcorn and start wondering why the girl keeps saying - Nothing beats a first kiss.
“Nick, what does she mean?” I asked.
He turned towards me and lifted a brow. “What do you mean?”
“What does she mean when she said - Nothing beats a first kiss?” I pointed at the screen where she continuously repeated that single line.
“Ah, she talking about how when her lips met that guy lips for the first time” he responded.
“Lips?” I said.
“Yes, these,” he pointed at the red flesh on his face.
I started playing with my own lips, puckering them and feeling them. “When two pairs of lips meet together, does it feel good?”
Nick scratched his head and twisted his lips to the side, staring at the wall behind me. "Yes, it does” he answered after a long pause.
“I want to kiss.”
Instantly, Nick started coughing and pounding his own chest, which is odd because he hasn’t eaten anything. “Y-Y-You want to kiss?”
“Yes,” I said staring at his lips.
He grabbed my shoulders and turned me towards him fully. “A-Are you s-s-s-sure L-Lulu?”
Looking towards his brown orbs, I nodded. “I want to kiss. Should I go ask Tyler?” I said and stood up but was pulled back by Nick.
“No!” He screamed.
“Why not?”
“You can’t kiss him or anyone else!” He shouted frantically.
“Why?” I asked scratching my head.
“Because Lulu, you are my mate," he growled.
“So?”
“You can only kiss me,” he said in a less dangerous tone.
“Okay, kiss me,” I folded my legs, closed my eyes and pucker my lips like the girl in the movie.
I can feel Nick placing two trembling hands on my shoulders. His breathing was rapid and shallow.
Ba-dump.
Ba-dump.
Ba-dump.
His heart rate increased with each closing distance.
Ba-dump.
Ba-dump.
Ba-dump.
Wait.
Ba-dump.
Ba-dump.
Ba-dump.
It’s my heart.
Ba-dump
Ba-dump
Ba-dump
‘What’s going on?’
Ba-dump
Ba-dump
Ba-dump
‘You are nervous’ Daisy responded.
Ba-dump.
Ba-dump.
Ba-dump.
‘Why?’ I asked her as cold sweat form on the palms of my trembling hands.
‘Because this is yours and Nick first kiss. It’s special, so you are nervous.’
My eyes burst open to meet his, involuntarily I pushed him off the couch. When his head made contact with the wooden floor, he releases a loud groaned. Instantly, I jumped to my feet and went down on my knees. “Nick I’m so sorry,” I frantically shouted.
Nick was still laying on the floor hands on top of his head. He started saying something, but I couldn’t hear him.
“What is it?” I asked.
He mumblef some more and I placed my face closer to him in an attempt to hear what he was saying.
Instantly, a warm hand was placed on the back of my head pulling me down.
My lips met Nick.
At that split second, I understand what that phrase meant.
"Nothing beats a first kiss.”
When he kissed me my brain lit on fire and warmth spread throughout every inch of my body. I could barely breathe while his dry lips pressed against mine. Finally, I understand what Nick meant by saying I am his other half. He is my other half, making me whole.
The kiss was soft and slow, tasting like the fresh buttery popcorn.
I never knew popcorn can be so divine and addictive.
Separating, I opened my lids and a smile crossed both of our lips.
“The popcorn is good,” I said biting my bottom lips.
Rough cracking laughter escaped his throat. “Best popcorn in my life,” his voice huskier than usual.
“Can we do that again?”
Placing the hand back on my head. “Anytime,” he whispered and pressed his lips once more against mine.
Ever since that night, popcorn, became our secret code word before we kiss. One of us would say the first part and the other would complete it.
Nick bit my lower lip, seeking entrance as his hands lower to my bottom, squeezing it gently. Opening my mouth, I grant him entry, his tongue tenderly enters my mouth.
I love kissing Nick.
It feels so good.
Makes my body all warm and tingly.
“Stop it,” a female voice said.
“Ow! What the f**k Kim?” Nick shouts and rubs his head.
“You are blocking the exit!” She yells.
“What? Says who?” He screams.
“Them!” She points at a group of people who were looking everywhere, eyes avoiding us.
“You have been making out for like ten minutes blocking the stairs! Everyone constantly mind linking me in the middle of my make-out session!” Kim shouts throwing her arms in the air.
Joey came out, putting on his shirt. “Thanks, a lot Nick,” he said in a bland tone.
“They could’ve asked me to move,” Nick mumbles.
“No, they can’t! They are too afraid of you Nick. They think you will throw them in the dungeon” she spat out.
“Hey, I’m more considera-”
“You threw one of our guys out of the Pack House for disturbing you and Lillian cuddling session. That was when she was still a cat,” she spat out shooting daggers at him.
He shrugs and scratches his head. “I did specifically say not to disturb me when I’m watching a movie with Lulu back then.”
“Oh god,” Kim huffs out while Nick puffs his cheeks. Joey stands there with arms crossed and shaking his head.
“We are sorry,” I said, twisting one leg behind the other as my hands clasped together, quite disappointed in myself.
“Oh no, Lillian. It’s not your fault. It’s my horny brother fault. His inability to keep it in his pants,” she said granting me a lovely smile.
Nick roll his eyes in return of her comment but didn’t say anything.
“Next time, if you’re in a heated session. Do what everyone else does and keep it in your room,” Kim snap and walk away.
“Damn I love that woman,” Joey said and everyone glances at him, lifting a questionable brow.
“What? Her feisty side is hot,” he shrugs and went after her.
I watch as each person went downstairs avoiding Nick’s deathly scowl.
“Are we disturbing everyone?” I ask.
Nick wipe off the scowl and place on a softer expression. “According to Kim we are,” he responds tangling his fingers with mine.
“Should we stop?”
Nick stand there and stare out the window in front of him. “No.”
He scoops me up and carries me downstairs. “Ready for the mall?”
I nod my head. “I’m very excited.”
We head towards Nick’s car and he opens the door for me. I slide in and put on the seatbelt all by myself. He grabs my hand and starts driving off to the mall. I turn on some song, I’ve always heard Nick play songs in his room and I really like them.
I start singing this song called Classic. I actually wanted to listen to this song called Two Fux that Kim introduces me, but Nick said that song is a no-no. He said it’s a song for bad girls.
I told him Kim listen to it.
He said Kim is not a good girl and I shouldn’t listen to her, ever.
I told Kim that Nick told me I shouldn’t be listening to the songs she listens to.
Kim told me that it’s okay to listen to those songs as long as Nick doesn’t catch me. She gave me an iPod that matches exactly the one Nick gave me. She said all her favorite songs are in it.
I feel bad doing something that’s against Nick wishes but she told me it’s okay. Kim said its a part of growing up and I shouldn’t always listen to Nick.
She said I’m my own person, not a piece of property.
After some thinking and silent discussion with Daisy, I agree with Kim.
Plus, I really like the songs.
Kim may not be the best influence but I enjoy the movies we watch together and she taught me some words I can say when someone makes me mad. She told me not to say those words unless necessary because Nick would punish her.
I don’t understand how they are siblings, they say completely different things all the time.
And they fight, all the time!
“We are here,” Nick said snapping me out of my thoughts.
I glance around and saw a giant white glass building connecting with many small ones along with many people. “Wow.”
“Yup wow,” Nick respond and turn off the engine. He heads out and close the door then went to my side. Taking my hand, he leads me out and we start walking towards the mall.
Passing by a bunch of different looking individuals, I saw water spitting out from the ground. Immediately, I jump into Nick’s arm and bury my face in his chest.
“Don’t worry Lulu, that’s just water,” he said taking me away from the dangerous-looking water.
Nick takes me inside and I saw many more different individuals, making me feel a bit claustrophobic. There are many crowds filled with energy that kind of makes excitement yet anxiety bubble under your skin, vibrating the bones.
Instantly, I wrap my arms around his arm for comfort. He pats my head. “It's okay. I’m here,” he whispers gently.
After some deep breath, he leads me around. My eyes scan every inch, noticing that the lighting inside is brighter than outside, fake trees planted under the tiles, and each small box, or what Nick says is call a store, in the building hold a variety of things I saw in Kim’s closet.
Nick step into a store. “Here we are Lulu, pick anything you want.”
“Anything?” I ask.
“Yup anything,” he smiles.
I clasp my hands together and waltz around the store, grabbing whatever I decide to be pretty.
“Miss, would you like some help?” A lady came up to me.
“Yes she would,” Nick said giving her a grateful smile.
Instantly, several more girls surround me throwing random clothes at me. Looking at Nick his smile widens as he watches them urge me to go inside the changing room.
“Lulu show me each outfit okay?” He screams.
“Okay!” I shout back.
Waltzing down, I spin myself to show him a purple dress. He clapped his hands together excitedly. “I love it!” He said and the woman gave me another dress.
I came out with a different dress plus heels and Nick gave me two thumbs up. “Amazing,” he said with a goofy smile.
Another lady gave me some pants and shirts urging me to try it on. That’s how it went for hours, Nick continuously gave me compliments and the ladies keep throwing new clothes along with shoes at me.
After several thousand or what seems to be like thousands of outfit, I was tired. Nick told me we can take a break after he pays. I look at the mountain of clothes behind that counter that Nick said he wants to buy for me because they all look good. The group of women smiles brightly as they scan each item.
I look at the little box with numbers. Each time they scan an item, the number kept increasing. After the last shirt, I count the numbers. There were six figures.
Is that a lot?
I should ask Kim about money later.
Nick pull out a black plastic-looking card and they swipe it. He signs a small piece of paper and it's all done.
“We will deliver it to your place Alpha Nickolas. Free of charge of course,” one of the ladies said.
He gave her a firm nod and head out, holding my hand.
“Thank you for shopping at La Expensitivo,” they said in unison and bow at us.
“Want some ice cream, Lulu?” Nick ask me and I nod. I love ice cream, it tastes cold but so very good particularly with whip cream. Yummy.
“After you eat a real meal okay?”
“Okay, Nick!” I said.
Nick halt in front of a store and stare inside, narrowing his eyes as if he is having an inner conflict. I attempt to read the store sign but didn’t understand the words. I should memorize the letters and ask Kim about it later.
Q-U-I-N-N- S-E-C-R-E-T.
After a while he shakes his head and leads me away from the store.
We head towards an area with many seating and good food smells. Nick sat me down. “Wait here,” he states and I nod folding my arms together. My eyes roam around, scanning the surrounding.
“Hey sweetheart,” a deep voice said and I turn my head towards two guys.
Sniffing the air, I want to throw up. They smell so bad compared to Nick.
I ignore them and wait for Nick. “Hey we are talking to you, don’t you f*****g ignore us,” the other guy growl.
Glancing back at them, my heart skip several beats. The way they looked at me is so disturbingly familiar. Those eyes, those atrocious eyes makes me want to hurl.
Where have I seen that look before?
“What the f**k do you two think you are doing?” Nick release a roughed more authoritative growl.
They turn their heads and instantly their eyes widen as they bowed down. “Alpha Nickolas we a-a-apologize. We didn’t know s-she is your w-w-woman.”
“Which pack are you two from?” He said in a menacing tone.
“R-Red Moon,” they respond, body shivering. Eyes refusing to meet his vicious glare.
“I’ll have a nice chat with your Alpha later regarding his pack member behavior,” Nick tilt his head and four members from his pack came, dragging the two wolves away.
He turns towards me and place the tray of food down. “Are you okay Lulu?”
I nod slowly, attempting to stop my shaky hands as he places an arm around me, petting my head while the other held my palm rubbing soft circles on it. “They were scary,” I whimper out trying my best not to cry.
“Shhh it’s okay Lulu,” he said giving me soft kisses on my temples.
“What will happen to them?” I ask looking at Nick as he wipes the single tear that escapes.
“They will be punished for their behavior,” Nick stated fiercely. I can tell from his voice that he doesn’t want me to ask any further.
I nod and open my mouth as he fed me a fry. Sitting there, Nick happy presence change the heavy atmosphere back to normal and he taught me how to properly eat a burger. He said it’s okay for things to spill everywhere because that’s part of the fun.
After we finish, he takes me towards an ice cream stand. Nick order minty chocolate chip cream and I order Chocolate Chip cookie dough.
It tastes so good!
He told if I want, he will take me out on mini ice cream dates every week until I get sick of ice cream.
Nick and I decide to roam around the mall some more so I can get use an area with a lot of people. Licking my ice cream, I never feel such joy.
Instantly, my legs stop when I smell something unusual but extremely intoxicating in the air. It wasn’t a delicious intoxicating smell like Nick nor was it a stomach sickening smell like the two guys earlier. Walking around the mall, I inhale many types of scent, but this one, in particular, stands out.
It's toxic, dangerous.
Like a wild untamed animal kind of smell.
“Lulu, what’s wrong?” Nick asks placing himself in front of me.
The smell keeps getting stronger and stronger with each beat inside my chest. The ice cream from my hand drops onto the floor with a loud splat.
“Lulu?” Nick’s voice faint and I can hear an echoing voice closing in.
‘Run!’ Daisy shouts.
My eyes frantically scan the area, attempting to figure out the smell.
‘Run!’ Daisy screams desperate for me to escape but my legs refuses to move.
I can feel the blistering sweat drench my skin, the painful throbbing of my own eyes, agonizing ringing screams vibrating in my ears, and the harsh uncomfortable thumping of my heart against my chest.
Ba-dump.
Ba-dump.
Ba-dump.
My trembling hands curls up into a loose fist, unable to form any strength as if my body had given up. I can feel the oxygen flooding in and out of my lungs depriving my mind of any thoughts. Fear tortures my guts, churning my stomach in unbearable cramps as it drains all of my life energy.
My peripheral vision instantly halts its search when it met with a pair of hazel eyes.
The eyes of a murderous predator.
