V. Alpha Alliances

Nickolas’s POV: I couldn’t stop gazing at Lulu as she got drag away by Kim. She would glance back at me with her cute enlarge kitten eyes and pouty lips, looking so lost with everything. “Dude, stop drooling,” Tyler said snapping his fingers in front of me. I smack away his hand away and wipe the saliva on the side of my mouth. ‘Isn’t this great! Lulu is our Luna, and she isn’t an actual cat! I told you so!’ Alden, my wolf, scream making some: 'Nyah nyah nyah nyaaaaah nyah', sounds at me. A year ago, Tyler and Joey threw me a party on my seventeenth birthday to help me find my mate. I dragged my legs home at 1 am bummed out that it wasn’t any of them. When I opened the Pack House, a rushed of sugary peaches and warm oranges hit me. It was definitely a weird and complicated night. I dragged my legs back towards the Pack House. ‘Hey dude, don’t be down. Maybe your mate is in another pack,’ Tyler mind link me. He is still at my party, but I decided to call it a night since I was not in the mood to dance around with a ton of girls who aren’t my mate. Plus, the smell was suffocating me. We are werewolves with sensitive nostrils; I don’t understand why girls would dump toxic liquid they call perfume all over their body. ‘Yeah sure whatever,’ I replied and blocked him out. It's nice to be able to mind link with everyone. I mean, with the invention of cell phones, no one really mind links anymore. It's cool and convenient when we are in our wolves state. Also, paws don't exactly operate well with cell phones. Exhaling, I can hear nothing except the swaying of the leaves and stupid high pitch crickets chirping. My eyes were glued to the floor as I walked into the house, getting closer to my bedroom I was hit with the smell of sugary peaches and warm oranges. ‘Mate!’ Alden shrieked. I stood there in front of my bedroom door, heart beating feeling like it will leap out any second. How is it possible? No one is allowed to enter my room. How can my mate be in there? ‘Why are you standing there? Are you waiting for the door to open by itself like one of those horror films?!’ My trembling hands attached to the doorknob and twisted it open; the delicious smell slammed into my face. My eyes scanned the room, but there was no one inside. The window wasn’t open, and nothing moved. "Meow." Looking down, I saw Lulu laying on the floor. Inhaling, I knew that the smell was from her. ‘No f*****g way. I’m mated with a cat!?’ Alden yelled. My knees fell onto the floor, shaking sweaty hands scooping her up. Staring at Lulu, I didn’t know how to feel. I know I love Lulu but isn’t this going too far? I had always known I had this abnormal obsession with Lulu, but this is not normal. "Meow." When I hear her meow softly, my heart melted, and a smile crossed my lips. Puckering it, I gave her a light peck on the nose. “I don’t need a mate. I have you my little kitty,” I whispered. 'Lulu is our mate, and she is a cat. Ah, I don’t care. She is cute. Okay, since she isn’t a human. You have to shift and then we yah know’, Alden released a sigh. I rolled my eyes. ‘No Lulu isn’t our mate,’ I desperately deny any thoughts of my cat being my mate. ‘Yes she is!’ Alden shouted. ‘Come on. We simply love her, that’s all’ I tried my best to convince myself. ‘Hey, who is the wolf here? Me or you?’ I didn’t reply, merely stayed quiet because I knew this was a trap. ‘You.’ ‘Then I know what the s**t I’m talking about! Lulu is our mate!’ I growled at him and blocked him out. There is no way Lulu is my mate! I love her but there is no way we are mates! Alden must be wrong. ‘I’m not wrong,’ he mumbled. ‘What? I just block you out!’ ‘I’ve been your wolf for one day. You ain’t blocking me out that easily.’ After that, every time I see Lulu things got weirder. I want to embrace her, kiss her, and unusually make love to her. My cat! Alden is crazy about her. When someone touches Lulu, he goes all wolf crazy, heck, I went all gorilla mad. To get rid of the urges I had towards Lulu, I start sleeping around. I remember the first girl I slept with - I didn’t remember who she was - but I remember how Lulu ran away. Alden and I went berserk when she escaped. I think I broke three guys ribs when they mutually agree and I quote, "Alpha Nickolas, she is just a cat." After that, I don’t care if others think I’m a crazy Alpha who is obsessed with his cat. I love Lulu. Oh, thank the moon goddess she is a werecat though. Alden actually wants me to shift into a wolf so that he can mate with her. I don't even know how that would work. She is so tiny! ‘Our mate is so beautiful,’ Alden releases a sigh of content. “Yo! You’re drooling again,” Tyler said and pat me on the back. I wipe away the drool and start walking to class. Heading there, I wonder how it is possible for Lulu to be a werecat, they are supposed to be extinct. “Hey, I need you two to research more about Lulu.” Joey snorts, “I was wondering when you are going to talk about that.” “Yeah, it completely slipped my mind okay? I need some time to get used to the fact that Lulu is not just a normal cat. You both know I’ve been a bit obsessed with Lulu for the last ten years,” I start mumbling, remembering all these years of screaming at others who touched Lulu. I remember being teased when I was younger for loving Lulu too much. I beat up anyone who teased me and forced them to apologize to Lulu. No one f*****g mess with my little kitty. “A bit? You threaten to send me to the hospital when I pat her head once,” Joey responds. “Yeah, and you kicked me out of the Pack House for three days when I fed her instead of you. When I told my parents that they smack my head telling me I should know better than to touch your cat. Do you know what that means? It means the whole werewolf community knows about your obsession!” Joey throws his arms up in the air waving it frantically “Okay maybe a lot, but she is my mate. What did you guys expect?” I shrug. They nod in understanding. “Back to the real topic, should we tell the council?” Tyler ask. I rub my lips, debating, “Yes, but I want some alliance with other Alphas to protect Lulu.” I know I don’t have the power to back me up, even if my pack is one of the strongest, but I wasn’t the one who made it strong, it was my ancestors. Many others doubt my leading ability due to my age and inexperience. Yes, there is an alpha who is younger than me, but he scares the f**k out of everyone, so no one ever doubts his skills. “That’s true. I’ve heard about werecats. If Lulu is the last of her kind, then many creatures will want her for hmm you know,” Tyler responds not wanting to finish. I release a low growl; my hand involuntarily snap the corner of the desk. “What about Alpha Darren of Black Forest Pack? He is nice and understanding,” Joey said changing the subject, staring at the piece of wood in my hand. Yes, I remember him. Alpha Darren is one of the older Alphas, well his late twenties so he isn’t that old. Unlike other Alphas he is kindhearted and a lot more patient. He doesn’t get as easily pissed off. Unfortunately, he hasn’t found his Luna yet. I applaud him for waiting so long since other Alpha would’ve given up and found an alternative mate. “Good, contact him” I respond, throwing the wood into the trashcan. Silently, I give myself a pat on the back when the wood made it into the trashcan because of my amazing throw. “What about Alpha Damien of Silverstone?” Tyler ask. “No” I quickly reply. He scratches the back of his neck and blows out some air. “Oh yes, my bad. He probably isn’t the best choice.” Alpha Damien is well Alpha Damien. He expresses the worst qualities of an Alpha. A w***e. Short-tempered. Controlling. Yes, we are all like that, but he was something special. Always manage to piss someone off with his cockiness simply because his pack is rising in power at a fast rate. We never get along, I want to punch him in the face every time I see him smirk, so forget about asking him for aid. “What about Alpha Leonardo from Crescent Pack?” Joey ask. I rub the nape of my neck. “Put him on the maybe list.” Alpha Leonardo isn’t bad, but he is - actually, I don’t know how I feel towards him half of the time. He is a complicated anti-social Alpha, where every time I see him, he just stands there. He doesn’t say much to others, always replying with a single word. From what I heard, he enjoys locking himself in his bedroom to play video games all day and let his Beta along with his Gamma do all the work. They continue saying other Alphas names which I approve and disapprove. “Last one Alpha Nathaniel from the Full Moon Pack. He does have the largest pack and connection with the Custodes,” Tyler states. Blowing out some air. “I don’t know about him.” I remember when I first met him, he was beating up Alpha Leonardo for calling him short. To be honest, I wanted to piss my pants at that time, but my Alpha blood wouldn’t let me quiver in fear, so similar to everyone else, I stood there; eyes not once wavering from the bloodshed. A while later, I met him once more when my parents visit his parents. We sat in the same room for two hours, and he didn’t say a single word. He would sit in a corner; facial expression constantly changes as if he is having an inner conversation or talking to a ghost. That dude freaks me out. Every time a muscle of his twitch, I thought he was going to go all wolf crazy and start beating me up. “I heard his Luna is a human,” Joey said. My brows furrow together as I scratch my head. “Really?” “Yes, according to rumors, he had grown softer since he found his mat,e” Tyler input with a nod. After a while, I gave them a single firm nod. “Okay contact him.” “Okay,” they reply. The bell rang, and the teacher came in, while I turn my attention towards the window staring at nothing in particular. The lecturing of the teacher’s voice became distant as I focus on only one heartbeat. Hers. Ba-dump. Ba-dump. I can hear the rate of her heart increasing. She must be nervous since it’s her first day of school. How cute. I want to tell her she doesn’t have to try hard for anything. After all, I’ll force the school to pass her no matter how bad she does, but that would ruin her high school experience. Lulu lived all her life as a cat, so I want her to get used to her new life, learn new things. Of course, being by my side as she does it. No matter what, I will protect Lulu. I will never let anyone lay a hand on her. Leaning back in my chair, I cross my arm and exhale a deep breath as my eyes followed a bright white butterfly. The wings fluttered in a circular motion, landing beside the glass window. I tilted my head, resting it on top of my palm. Taking a few blinks, there was an extremely unsettling feeling in the pit of my stomach. My eyes inch up, realizing a shroud of dark clouds storming in; it narrow as I saw a figure standing in the forest. The wind brush against his clothes as his steel eyes glare right into my soul. Who is he? “Nickolas, is everything alright?” the teacher calls for me and I turned my head momentarily, giving him a single nod. He reverts his attention back to the board and continues writing. I turn my head back to the forest only to see no one. When the bell rang, I pack up all my stuff excited to see Lulu. Just when I was about to rush out the door, the figure return. “Ready to go see your hot babe?” Tyler said, and I'm a few strings away from punching him. I throw my backpack at his face causing him to stumble slightly. Serve him right for calling Lulu hot. I mean she is hot, but only I get to call her that. “I need to go check something first,” I said, jumping out the window causing some students to leap back in surprise. Immediately, I rush towards the trees feeling the heavy wind slapping against my skin. I stop, seeing a figure standing directly in front of me as my breathing shallow. “Who are you and how did you get into Red Rose territory?!” I growl, getting ready to mind link my members. He stands there, steel eyes engrave deeply into mine as a smile cross his mouth. “Long time no see,” he said. My brows furrow. “I don’t know you,” I reply, clenching my hands together. I'm getting quite agitated since Lulu was so close. If he is a threat, I will dispose of him. He smirks, “Oh, but I know you.” He takes a single step, and instantly he stands right in front of me. My heart skips a beat, air caught inside my burning lungs, as my eyes widen. ‘Unholy f**k! How did he do that?’ Alden shout. He leans downward, hands are hidden behind him. “You can’t imagine how long I’ve been searching for you...Little Prince."
