Until the next full moon

DIANE I gasped in shock. There is absolutely no way I saw that. I blinked my eyes to make sure that I wasn't seeing otherwise but I wasn't. Lucien stabbed his palm with that fork and immediately he took it out, his palm healed up. I moved closer to him and took his hand to see his palm for myself. There was no sign of the fork once inserted in his palm. Werewolves aren't real. I shook my head refusing to accept it. Werewolves don't exist. They are not real. "You are insane!" I laughed hysterically. "I know this trick. You think I'd fall for it?" I scoffed. "I won't fall for such a stupid trick okay? I know what it is that you are doing. Who do you think you are fooling? I see those tricks on TV and this is one of them," I remarked. "You think I would want to do some trick for you? Do you think I'm that foolish to think some tricks would be able to make you believe that I am a werewolf and also the Alpha of my pack?" He said rhetorically. "What is it that I am to believe then? Kindly enlighten me. What is it because there is absolutely no way I saw your palm bleed and suddenly it stopped unless you never stabbed your palm," I replied? "Fine then. Stab me with the fork by yourself and confirm it," he suggested and I rose my brows at him frantically. "What do... are you insane? Do you think I’d stab you myself? Do you think I'm that foolish? Then you must be very much insane to think so," I chided. "I never called you a fool," he sighed. "I want you to believe and to understand me, Diane. This back and forth between us is draining me and I hate that you are this way. Please give me a chance," he pleaded. He sounded sincere and while he spoke, we locked eyes and for some reason, I almost fell for it. Men like him are the worse. They know how to manipulate and if he thinks because I'm way younger than him then it'd be easy to manipulate them he has found the wrong person. I don't even know how many days I've been here. I've lost count because I'm barely let out of the room. I miss my parents, school, my friends, and Noah. I miss everybody and it hurts so much. "Please Diane. All I ask for is a chance. Okay let's do this," he pulled back a seat for himself to sit. I folded my arms across my chest waiting for him to speak up. "By the next full moon, I will be able to change and show you that indeed werewolves are real and I am not senile. After that, I will let you go but for now, I want us to get along. Please," he said. I bit on my bottom lips as I contemplated. Do I want to trust someone like him? He kidnapped me after all and claimed that I am his mate. As much as I want to believe all of this, I just can't. "You kidnapped me. You took me away from my parents and you want me to still be here until the next full moon? Do you think that makes sense? Why are you doing all of this?" I huffed. "We are doing this back and forth all the time. It's easy. Just believe me when I say I will let you go. I promise to," he pleaded again and I sighed. "Okay," I replied. I do not know why it is that I have agreed to him but I wish he would get over this madness and let me go. I miss my old life. "Okay? Are you for real?" He seem excited and doubtful at the same time and so I nodded my head to assure him that I meant it. "You won't regret it. Thanks so much," he tells me. "When is the next full moon?" I asked. "In less than two weeks," he replied. "I do have a question though," I tell him. "What is it?" He replied. "Why can't you just turn a wolf right now? What's hindering you? If you are indeed a werewolf as you claimed then transforming shouldn't be a problem so why is it a problem now?" I asked. I watched as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "There are two reasons. Firstly werewolves can only change at the full moon but some werewolves can change at will. The werewolves that change at will are called Lycan and that’s what I am,” he answered. “Then transform,” I replied. “It's a lot more. I can't transform as I want in the human world. I can only transform at a full moon and that's why I am begging you to wait until the full moon and I will prove to you that I am not insane," he explained. “There you go again. Human world?” I scoffed. “Are you saying there is a werewolf world too? You are so hilarious,” I let out a dry laugh. “It’s true. There are a lot of werewolves here and you don’t even know it. Trust me, we are like every human being but different,” he uttered. “So you are saying that a lot of people in Middleton are werewolves?” I rose my brows in a questioning manner. "Even if you are indeed one, I do not plan to be up ur mate or whatever you call it. I am eighteen for crying out loud and I have a life. I don't understand why you would even want me as your mate," I told him. "I didn't ask for you to be my mate. The moon goddess..." "Enough with this moon goddess s**t. It's always the moon goddess all the time. Even if you turn out to be a werewolf which I find ridiculous, it still won't make me want to be your mate so just don't expect anything," I informed him. "That's Fine by me though. I just want us to get along. I want to be your friend," he tells me. "My friend? Why would you want to be my friend?" I questioned. "I want for us to get along, the way we did some days ago. While you are here, I want the best for you. I want you to feel comfortable," he answered. "I can't be comfortable. I won't be and you know why? Because you brought me here against my will and on my birthday too," I remarked. "I'm sorry for that. I can't actually..." "You came here to give me food right? That's fine. I will eat. I don't want to see your face," I informed him. He simply nodded his head without saying anything and I heaved a sigh of relief as soon as he left. I needed to be on my own. ———————————————— For the first time since I’ve been here, I came out of the room and there was no one standing outside of the room to stop me from going out. It’s not as if I’d run even if they stood outside of my room. I have given up on that and have decided to wait until the full moon and see what it is that he claims to be and I hope he does let me go because I want to go back to my life. I can’t help but wonder how everyone is living without my absence and if my parents are looking for me. I settled down in front of the LED plasma TV to watch anything. I just wanted to get my mind off stuff and laugh. I turn the TV on and then realized I didn’t have anything to watch. Heck, it’s not my place and I don’t know how to operate anything. “What are you doing?” I heard a suave husky masculine voice from behind me. I tilted my head a little to take a look at Damien who was staring at me. “I want to watch the television. Do you perhaps have Netflix or anything I could watch?” I asked. He was staring at me with a surprised expression evident on his face. It was as if he wasn’t expecting me to act this way but what can I do? I can’t leave here even if I try so I might as well feel comfortable. “Yes. I do,” he replied coming to sit beside me and I moved a little to create some space between us that had not gone unnoticed by him. He opened his mouth to say something but closed it back. “So what do you have in mind to watch?” He asked as he connects his Netflix with his television and multiple options were given to me. I took the remote control from his hand and began to look for what it is that I want to watch.
