Alpha Eric's POV

I collapsed on the chair in my office and roughly ran my fingers through my already messy hair.

Pain went through my heart like a sharp blade, and it took everything in me not to break down in tears.

''Alpha.'' Chris called out for my attention.

I ignored him and tiredly massaged my forehead in pain.

''Should I inform the pack of the death of our Luna.'' he asked, waiting for my command.

Sighing heavily, I stood on my feet and walked around my office while I went into deep thought for a while before speaking up.

''She will be buried in twenty-four hours. From now on, send a message to the twelve tribes of the moon pack: every gamma of the twelve tribes must be present to give their last respect to their Luna; under no excuse will anyone miss her funeral,'' I declared firmly.

''Yes, Alpha.'' Chris lowered his head and left my office.

With heavy feet, I walked back to the couch and collapsed on it while I felt my heart clutching in pain as the thought of not seeing my beautiful Anita flashed in my head.

I angrily clenched my fist, and the urge to teleport back to the snowpack and kill Alpha Eric rushed through my body, but I held myself when I remembered the deal I had with his sister.

Slowly I closed my eyes and calmed myself as I thought of the suffering I was going to inflict on her. I would make sure she cried every night in her sleep.

A soft knock on my door caught my attention, which made me groan angrily.

''What is it?'' I asked angrily because I knew it wasn't Chris.

''It's me, my Lord.'' One of the female servants replied.

''What is it?'' I inquired.

''Lady Anita's mother is here to see you.'' She answered.

''Shit.'' I grumbled when I realized she might not have gotten the news.

''Let her in.'' I declared.

I stood on my feet and wondered what she would go through when she found out about Anita's death.

''Tell me this is not true.'' She wailed as she shut the door behind her.

I stared at her, confused, and wondered how she got the news so fast.

''Where is Anita.'' She sobbed and collapsed on the floor, but I turned my back on her and swallowed the tears threatening to fall down my cheek.

''She is dead; you will get to see her before she is laid to rest.'' I spoke in a firm voice, like it meant nothing to me.

''No!'' She yelled in agony and held my leg.

''Tell me this is not true.'' She begged in tears, but I said nothing; rather, I just stood there and allowed her to cry on my leg for a while before I spoke up.

''I will tell the servant to prepare a room for you, you should go in and rest; it is late.'' Saying those words, I mind link my personal servant to come to my office, and within a minute, he walked in and lowered his head in respect.

''Show her to one of the guest rooms." I told him.

''Alright.'' He lowered his head and waited for Anita's mother to stand on her feet, but she kept wailing.

''I promise you that he and his family will pay for this.'' I muttered those words as a promise.

''Who was it? Who killed my daughter.'' she asked curiously.

I took a deep breath and thought it was better that I keep it to myself for the time being.

''You don't have to worry about it; I will take care of it.'' I assured her and teleported from the room before she could bombard me with questions.

I found myself in Anita's personal room; everything still had her scent, and it felt like she was actually here.

Inhaling deeply, I went to her closet and took out her favorite nightwear and placed it on my nose while I inhaled her fascinating scents of fresh hibiscus flowers.

Sniffing deeply, I sat on her bed and kept sniffling, her scents coming from the nightwear as grief filled my entire body; never in my life have I felt this much anguish in my heart.

''Anita!'' I yelled in anger and noticed the room shaking for a second at the thunderous sound of my voice.

I kept my nightwear on the bed and vanished away. I found myself in my room and moved my gaze to the bed where Anita's dead body was laid, before I turned my gaze around and saw Rona’s sister sleeping heavily on the floor with her face buried between her knees.

The mere sight of her made me angry and furious, and I just can't wait to inflict pain on her.

''You!'' I yelled in anger, which made her startle from her sleep and stare at me with wild eyes that were soaked in tears.

''I’m glad you are here; I can't sleep in this room.'' She begged as she stood on her feet.

''You should be lucky I haven't thrown you in the cell.'' I spoke firmly, with hatred written on my face.

''But…'' She wanted to speak, but I cut her off with a loud grunt.

''You will spend the night here, and that's final.'' I muttered those words in a tone that left no room for argument and teleported from the room.

I found myself in the thick woods and stripped naked before shifting into my big black wolf, who has been silent since Anita's death.

I raced around the thick, dark woods as images of Anita flashed in my head and the last moment we had together reflected in my head.

''Let me come with you, or I can teleport you there.'' I said those words and placed kisses on her neck down to her shoulders before placing a kiss on her stomach.

''Stop it.'' She giggled happily and moved away from me.

''Mine.'' My wolf howled in excitement and pushed me forward toward her, but I held myself.

''I will be back before you know it, and beside me, Lara is coming with me.'' Anita tried reassuring me, but I wasn't taking it.

''Let me come; I wanna be with you.'' I murmured and pulled her closer to me, and placed a kiss on her forehead.

"No, dear, you have so much work to do, I don't want you getting stressed out.'' she said.

I grumbled at her words, but she chuckled softly and placed a soft kiss on my cheek.

''See you when I get back.'' I nodded my head to her words and placed another kiss on her stomach before moving my gaze to her.

''Take care of yourself and my little boy.'' She smiled widely at my words and walked away.

That was my last memory of Anita.

With a heart filled with anguish, I climbed the highest mountain in the woods and howled loudly, informing all members of my pack of the departure of their Luna.
