Anabella's POV
''Gosh!'' I muttered to myself and gulped directing my gaze at him.
''Mate.'' My wolf whimpered in agony, which caused my heart to ache.
We met eyes with each other, and I could see so much irritation and hatred for me in his eyes, which made me gulp nervously and look away.
''You are to stay in this room for the next three days.'' He muttered those words as an order.
"But... you can’t just keep me locked up in here.'' I managed to speak, but he gave me a death glare, which made my legs weak.
''This is an order that you must obey.'' He yelled angrily, and all I could do was stand there and gulp in fear.
"I'm going to mourn my wife for the next three days, and then your punishment will begin." He spoke in a low tone, but the anger in his voice could be heard.
When I heard those words from him, I felt my heartbeat increase at the thought of them.
I noticed he took a few steps toward me, and I tried moving away, but he was quick and grabbed me by the wrist, pulling me to himself, so I could stare right at him.
''I will f**k you so hard, and your brother will hear your scream from afar.'' He whispered those words into my ear, and I could hear rage and hatred in his voice.
Angrily, he pushed me away, and I fell hard on the floor on my ass, which made me cry out in pain.
''Don't you dare… don't you dare think of leaving this room.'' He issued a stern warning before exiting the room.
''Oh goddess.'' I whimpered in pain and dragged my knees to my chest as I sobbed silently.
I stared around the empty room and wondered how I was going to cope with being locked up here like a prisoner.
With tears filling my eyes, I stood up from the cold, hard floor and sat on the bed to give some comfort to my ass.
''Ani.'' I heard Rona's voice, but I did not say a word.
''I know you can hear me, Ani; please talk to me.'' He begged, and this time his voice was a bit strong.
''How are you.'' I did not know when that left my mouth.
"Ani, are you okay?" he inquired, sounding worried.
''Yes, I'm fine. How are you? Are you okay? Did he come for you.'' I asked in panic.
"No, Ani, but you have to leave that place; I can't just sit here and watch you go through such pain.'' Rona begged, but I shook my head and respond.
''There is nothing to be done, brother; this is my fate and I have to face it; take care of yourself; and please don't say this to anyone; if anyone asks, just tell them I traveled; I love you.'' After saying those words, I wanted to shut myself away from my brother, but his words stopped me.
''Catherine is dead." Those words from Rona made me speechless for a second.
''Can you hear me, Ani? Catherine is dead.'' He murmured.
"How, when, and why?!?" I asked in pain.
''He killed her. She was the first person he met on his way to my room, and she tried to prevent him from entering, but he angrily flung her away alongside two guards.''
''Goddess.'' I exclaimed in pain.
"She hit her head on Father's metal statue and died instantly, but the two guards were injured," Brother explained further.
''No!'' I exclaimed in pain and collapsed on the floor.
''No!'' I yelled with agony while my wolf howled in misery.
Catherine wasn't just a personal maid; she was the sister and friend I never had, and now she was gone just like that.
''Ani.'' Rona called out to me, but I ignored him and shut myself away from him.
A maid rushed in when she heard my loud scream and stared at me curiously, but I ignored her and stood on my feet.
''Why the noise!'' she yelled.
I pushed her to the floor, locked her inside the room, and fled.
I wasn't trying to run away, but I wanted to meet that beast.
I hurriedly ran into the mansion, and his strong, manly scent of fresh wood hit my nose, and then I knew he was near.
With hasty feet, I followed the scent and met him face-to-face as he came out of a room.
''How dare you!'' I yelled in anger and rushed to him, but he easily grabbed me by the neck and pushed me against the wall.
