On Dike's arrival with his Wife and Son across the Great Sea to the Empire of the Empress, Onwem, they were welcomed by the Empress officials. Nwanyi stood on the tower of the palace and watched Dike and his family as they were being received at the gate. Tears dropped from her eyes. Dike was told at the gate that the Empress passed away that morning. He felt sad as the officials led him to the Empress's death bed where Onwem's dead body lay. Dike was shocked to see the face of the Empress. He could not believe his eyes. He was about to react when he saw Nwanyi coming through the door with tears in her eyes. Dike could not take it any longer. He nearly fainted but the officials held him up. A moment later, Nwanyi was now standing beside Dike, both of them facing Onwem's corpse. "She sacrificed everything for her love for you. She heard you had a son long ago and she too wanted a daughter that will answer your son's wife" Nwanyi explained. "And you said, even you will be dead soon"? Dike asked Nwanyi. Nwanyi nodded her head. Onwem was buried like a heroine that she was. The officials handed Dike the documents signed by the late Empress Onwem the day before her death. The document had stated that Dike's son will become the Emperor of her states and through Dike's blessings wed her daughter and make her his Queen. Dike could not stop crying. "This was her wish for us. But destiny can't be denied. Yet I will honor her last wish even if it will cost me my life to do that" Dike finalised. Dike went to meet his wife and son in the Empress's throne room and explained everything to her. Dike's wife wept. Dike raised his son up and changed his name immediately. He changed it to Dike and joined his hand with the daughter of Onwem whose name was also Onwem. Dike went back alone to his Kingdom the next day and brought his people, including his soldiers using the fastest ships across the Great Sea to The Empire. It was a big celebration that Night in the Empire Palace. Dike was to represent his son in ruling the states of the Empire until his son come of age to wed Onwem's daughter and become the Emperor of the Empire. Dike's wife was not in the banquet hall where the eating and celebration was going on rather she was outside, paying her respect to Onwem's grave. She promised her she would be a good mother to her daughter. She went back to join the others with tears in her eyes. The next day, Nwanyi died.
