Even though it was Saturday, I had a tight schedule. Seeing how exhausted Kay was, I decided to let her be and go ahead alone. Before I left, I advised Joel and Lucinda to keep an eye out for her. I had woken up a few times in the middle of the night to find her throwing up or with cold sweats. Luckily before I felt she was feeling better, or so she told me.
I made sure to keep my phone close just in case she got sick while I was away. I’d drop everything in a heartbeat to get back to her. No question about it. However, when my phone did ring it was from Joel to inform me that Carrie Ann was giving him hell about taking my wife out of the house without him guarding them.
“Is there a reason, she doesn’t want you there?”
“Her excuse is that she wants to spend time with her sister
