EPISODE 3: CHAIRMAN'S REVELATION

“Her blood is Type AB and we no longer have a stock of this type of blood. If we look for another hospital, the patient may not be able to survive.” the doctor replied.

Because of the bad news Dexter heard from the doctor, he suddenly remembered something. “That's right, Chairman Sanchez and Ellie, they're the same blood type.”

Dexter was desperate to find a blood donor right away, so he didn't hesitate to call the Chairman.

“Please pick up your phone, it's urgent.” his desperation.

There are many times that he attempt to call the Chairman but it was always ‘cannot be reached’ so he just tried to call its secretary. Fortunately, the secretary answered it immediately.

“Where is Chairman Sanchez?” Dexter asked the Secretary hurriedly. However, the secretary gave his cellphone to Chairman.

“You've called me on my cellphone, don't you? It was still charged so I turned it off first. Anyway, why did you call me at this hour? It's going to be midnight, I'm sure you will ask me something. So tell me, what is it.” asked the Chairman.

“My friend had an accident, the one I told you before, she needs a blood transfusion now but unfortunately, her blood type in this hospital is out of stock.”

“Okay, tell me what hospital it is, I'll go right away there.” the sudden response of the Chairman.

Before Dexter could be thankful, the Chairman cut off immediately their conversation. Because of what the Chairman said, Dexter breathed a little easier now. He immediately informed the doctor that someone would donate blood to Ellie.

Meanwhile, a few moments after the Chairman found out about the incident, he hurriedly and didn't hesitate to go to the hospital. After about an hour of driving to the hospital, he arrived as well.

Due to the early arrival of the Chairman to donate blood, Ellie's operation also started quickly. While Ellie's operation began, Dexter called Dexie to let her know what happened to their friend. As a result, the authorities immediately began their investigation regarding the accident.

After a few hours of waiting, the doctor also came out of the operating room to inform them what the result of the operation. “I'm very sorry to inform you of this. The operation was quite successful although due to the severe hemorrhage she had and the amount of blood she lost, it seems that there is little chance that she will wake again.” the doctor's inquired them.

Dexter's surroundings almost went cold when he heard what the doctor told them. “Do everything to wake her up, I'm willing to pay 10 times or even 100 times of her hospital bill, so please do your best and save her no matter what it goes.” Dexter urges the doctor.

“I'm sorry but it looks like only prayer and a miracle can save her.” direct response of the doctor and then leaves them, “Excuse me.”

Dexter and the Chairman were left stunned in the waiting shed as Dexter tried to accept what the doctor said, the concerned voice from nowhere caught their attention.

“What happened? How is Ellie?” Dexie's sudden appearance with the following questions.

“I said to you earlier, don't come here because I will notify you of her condition later but you still disobeyed me.”

“I'm just worried about her. I just want to know physically what's her condition, so please tell me how she is.” Dexie demandingly with her tearful eyes.

Dexter didn't know how to tell his twin sister that there was little chance that their friend would wake up again. He thought that might be harder to accept if her twin sister knows it.

“W-Why can't you speak?” the girl asked anxiously.

The Chairman answered the question with courage. “The doctor said that the chances of your friend waking up are low.”

Because of what she heard, Dexie couldn't stop her tears from suddenly dripping. It was all like a nightmare and she wanted to wake up. “How did this happen? We just took care of her yesterday because she was sick and now I can just hear that she is on the brink of death? What nonsense is this?”

Dexter knew that his twin sister was having a hard time accepting the truth so he approached her and hugged her tightly.

“Dex, tell me I'm just having a nightmare, isn't it?” maiden's urgency while sobbing.

“It's my fault, if I hadn't sent her home right away, she wouldn't be like this.” Dexter blamed himself. As he stroked his crying twin's hair, he continued to blame himself for what happened.

He has nothing else on his mind right now but repentance, endless remorse enveloping his mind. Dexter thinks that if he hadn't sent her home hurriedly or he even accompanied Ellie to her house, their friend wouldn't have come across it.

“W-Who the hell person did this to her?” Dexie asked her twin brother after she struggled in its embrace.

“I'm not sure yet, let's wait for the authorities' investigation,” Dexter replied, “But if it's not an accident, I'll make sure the person who did it to her will pay more than anything, he deserves more suffering than what he did to Ellie,” he added.

In a VIP room of the hospital, Ellie can be seen lying in a hospital bed. Only a ventilator machine can keep Ellie's body alive.

Three weeks have passed but they still have not lost hope that Ellie will wake up again. They still visit and watch over it because they still hope that their friend will wake up soon or later.

“Looks like she hasn't woken up yet.” sudden appearance of the Chairman.

“What are you doing here? As far as I know, you have a business meeting today.” Dexter question as he sat on a sofa near Ellie's hospital bed.

Slowly the Chairman approached and he sat down on the sofa next to Dexter, “I have a strong feeling that she is fighting for her life and to make pay the culprit who did this to her.”

“What do you mean?”

“I was checking the CCTV near the scene of the accident and then I saw a man come out of her house after the estimated time of accident happened.” then the Chairman handed over his cellphone to Dexter where the CCTV Footage was saved.

There Dexter's fist clenched as he looked at who this man was and there, he realized that it wasn't an accident.

While he was watching the footage, suddenly two men entered and introduced themselves as the police officer in charge of Ellie's case. “Mr. Castillo, can we invite you to the precinct for some questions.”

Dexter slowly stood up and approached the police.

“Fine.”

“Can you take care of Ellie on my behalf?” Before leaving Dexter first entrusted Ellie to the Chairman.

The Chairman didn't hesitate to do what the young man asked. “Okay, I will do it.”

As a result, Dexter leaves peacefully with the two policemen. When they arrived at the police station, the police started to interrogate him.

“Aren't you the first person to see the victim bleeding inside her house?” interrogation of a police officer.

The young man just nodded, “Yes, I was.”

“In that case, what is your reason for going to her house at that time. Based on our investigation and the information we gathered, you allegedly courted the victim before but she rejected you and later you decided to live in Ame— ” the police interrupted when Dexter suddenly spoke.

“Are you accusing me, didn't you?” the young man got upset and asked the police.

“Did you do that to get revenge on her?” insulting police question that didn’t directly answer Dexter’s question.

The young man smirked slightly when he heard the policeman question him as if he was sure that he was the one who caused the accident. He also couldn't stop his fist from clenching with annoyance.

“If I said I didn't do that, would you believe me?” sarcastic questioned of the young man.

“Mr. Castillo, I know you have a lot of connections, your family is also rich and powerful but don't think that you can escape the law just like that.” the police replied.

Dexter just sighed and laughed slightly. “Who tipped you about this ridiculous allegation?”

“It doesn't matter, he will be our witness in the case we will file against you.” the sarcastic answer of the police.

There was no trace of concern and hesitation on Dexter's face as he talked to the police who insisted that he was really the one responsible for the accident that happened to Ellie.

“Okay, if you haven't a plan to believe me, then check the dashcam of my car so I can help with your investigation. Please do your job perfectly, Sir.” Dexter’s sarcastic and forceful defiance.

Dexie is currently driving back to the hospital next to her twin brother Dexter after she picked him up at the police station as it cleared his name as one of the persons of interest.

“They really accused you of doing that to Ellie?” disgusted Dexie asked while driving.

“I'm sure it was Jonathan who tipped them off with this misinformation so this case will be closed and I became the culprit. That's the dirty plan he wants to happen.” Dexter's disguised response after he sighed.

“Why didn't you tell them about the CCTV Footage?”

“Because his life will be easier when I do that. Not everything will be fair.” serious response of the young man to his twin sister.

“You're right, his life in prison will become easier compared to the suffering that Ellie experienced from him. In prison, his food is free, he sleeps, and he has free shelter. On the other hand, Ellie is still lying down in her hospital bed and has a small chance of surviving, so it's only right that you didn't inform the police about the CCTV Footage because I don't want him to be comfortable after this.” Dexie agrees reasonably.

Dexter and Dexie arrived at the hospital shortly after. When they were in the Parking Lot, they saw the Chairman talking to his secretary, and because they were curious about what the two were talking about, they barely approached them.

“Chairman, we have a huge problem. The shareholders threaten us that they gonna full out their shares in our company or you'll be going to resign if you didn't appear again in the next meeting tomorrow.” notification of the secretary.

“Reschedule the meeting.”

“But that meeting is important and can't be postponed.”

“Is that even more important than taking care of my daughter!?” the Chairman got his temper which results in yelling at his secretary.

The twins were shocked when they heard the Chairman's reason why he wanted to postpone the meeting. Dexie and Dexter didn't know that the Chairman had a child so that's how they reacted shock.

“Daughter? Did you have a child?” Dexie's astonished question immediately caught the attention of the Chairman and secretary.

“Are you referring to Ellie? Aren't you?” Dexter suddenly asked, widening the eyes of Dexie and the secretary. But, the Chairman remained silent.

—••3 MONTHS AGO••—

From the Airport, six bodyguards picked up Dexter and he was greeted by his twin Dexie who was obviously excited for his return.

“If I didn't visit you in America, maybe I will think now that you're someone else.” smiling Dexie said as she approached her twin brother.

Before Dexter could answer his twin sister, he first removed the sunglasses from his eyes. “How unbelievable that my own twin sister didn't recognize me.”

“I'm sure, I used to look so ugly back then so it would be hard for you to recognize me now. At least, we look more like twins this time.” Dexter added with a joking response.

Dexie said nothing else to her twin brother because of his arrogance. But there's no denying that it's true that she can hardly recognize her twin brother because it changed a lot.

“If I just didn't know everything you went through before you became like that, maybe I'll ask you if you had plastic surgery,” Dexie said teasingly as she walked with Dexter.

“I'm sure Ellie will ask me that too when she sees me,” Dexter replied while holding his suitcase and seemed to be in a hurry to walk.

Dexie thought because of what her twin brother said, “Maybe.”

Because of Dexter's quickly walking, Dexie could do nothing but cling to his arm.

“Hey! Don't cling to my arm like a child, it's disgusting,” Dexter complained.

Dexie feels that not only has her twin brother’s appearance changed but also his attitude. Her twin brother is very different from before compared to now.

“I thought you and Camille would come back here together. What happened?” Dexie was wondering.

Dexter stopped walking for a moment and slowly removed his twin sister's hand that was clinging to his arm.

“You can go home first, I have something to manage,” Dexter said and handed the suitcase he was pulling to the bodyguard who followed them.

After that, Dexter put on his sunglasses and meticulously walked out of the airport. Dexie didn't even try to ask or follow him.

“I don’t think he's my twin brother anymore, he's so arrogant now! That jerk!” Dexie whispered to herself as she watched her twin brother walk out of the Airport.

Meanwhile, when Dexter got out of the airport, a luxury car stopped in front of him and he didn't hesitate to get in. After Dexter got into the car, he started talking to the person next to him, the Chairman of RABEN CORPORATION.

“It's been a long time since our last met and you've changed a lot.” praising him by the Chairman.

“I don't think so.” only answer of the young man.

“We will talk about the company's partnership later, let's go straight to the hospital first. You won't waste your time if you wait, will you?” Chairman asked.

“I don't have any meetings and events to attend so I think I can join you there.” Dexter's cold response.

Because of the kindness shown by Dexter, the Chairman was pleased with him. He even thought at first that the young man's behavior had changed but he realized that it had only matured to think.

“You're mature enough to think now, you're even better than your Dad when he was young like you.” Chairman jokingly said.

“You're only donating your blood?” Dexter wondered.

Dexter thought that the Chairman would do a check-up so he accompanied him but when they arrived at the hospital and only there did he find out that it would only donate blood.

“Yes, blood type AB is a rare blood and it's hard to find so I do it every two months to help some patients who need it urgently.” explanation of the Chairman while the nurse took blood from him.

“When your blood is rare and you need it urgently, then you will able to know how its importance for others,” it added.

Dexter just nodded at the Chairman's preachment. He didn't think that the Chairman was allocating time for it every two months. He has no idea that there are people who are still uplifting in life doing this. He's very amazed.

“Nurse, I also want to donate.” Dexter let the nurse know that he wants to donate his blood too.

“I really like you better than your father.” Chairman's joke.

“But after all, Dad is more successful than me.” Dexter also replied jokingly.

Dexter and the Chairman started laughing and talking.

“If you weren't engaged, I would have wanted to marry you to my daughter. You're the only man I want her to marry for the rest of her life.” smiling said the Chairman.

Dexter just laughed at Chairman's said, “That would have been possible if you just had a daughter.” the sarcastic answer of the young man.
