EPISODE 4: FIANCÉE'S RETURN

As Dexie and Dexter sit in front of the Chairman inside an expensive restaurant, it's there that the Chairman explains the truth about Ellie’s personality.

“You're right, your friend Ellie is my daughter, she's my only child with the woman I love the most.” sad storytelling of the Chairman.

Dexie still couldn't believe what she learned from the Chairman. It all seemed like just a fantasy to her.

“H-How did you become Ellie's father? Her father has been dead for a long time.”

“Are you referring to Manuel? He became Sylvia's husband while she was still pregnant with our daughter Ellie.”

After the Chairman explained to them again, Dexie understood everything. She also realized that the reason why Ellie's father always hurt her friend was that her friend wasn't his real child.

Because of this, she felt pity for her friend.

“In that case, you weren't joking when you told me that you wanted me to marry your daughter?” Dexter realizing.

The Chairman nodded, “I have no reason to make a joke of my daughter's life.”

Dexter just sighed because of the Chairman's answer. He couldn't bear to think that Ellie was the only child of the Chairman. He also wonders why it only now revealed the truth when their friend was in a dangerous situation.

“Why didn't you let her know it right away? Why do we need to know it first?” Dexie's sarcastic question.

“I became a coward because I don't know if she will be able to accept me or she will just hate me.” Chairman's calm response.

“Did you know that her stepfather always hurt her then? Did you see how she hated her stepfather so much that she wished he hadn't been her father? Did you even think about what she was like then while you were having fun with your money?” Dexie asked the Chairman but instead of letting herself hear what Chairman answers, she suddenly stood up and decided to walk out.

She couldn't bear to see the father abandon her friend for a long time. She felt it would be a betrayal of Ellie if she showed sympathy to her friend's real father.

When Dexie left, Dexter didn't try to chase her anymore because he knew how his twin sister was feeling. Dexie's treatment of Ellie looks like a real sister, so the girl can't be blamed if she reacts like this after witnessing her friend's suffering.

“I understand your twin sister, they have become real sisters to each other so I can't blame her if she reacts like that to me.” understanding the Chairman.

Dexter didn't answer the Chairman as he put an ice cube on the beer in his glass. After he put the ice cube on beer, he drank it immediately. “If you didn't donate your blood to her, maybe we're talking about all this on her grave, this is the reason why I can't hate you,” Dexter said accompanied by a smirk.

The Chairman just laughed at him, “You really inherited that action from your father.”

As the two of them were talking, Dexter's cellphone suddenly rang. He immediately answered the caller.

“What’s up? Have you found where that jerk is hiding?” Dexter asked after answering the call of the private detective he ordered to look for Jonathan.

“That's why I called you because I have bad news that I want to tell you.” detective's introduction.

Dexter just sighed as he massaged his forehead with his fingers. “All right, what's that?”

“We tracked everything he went to until we found out that he flew to Dubai with his live-in-partner the next day after the accident with Ma'am Ellie.” brief detective narration.

Dexter was so annoyed about this bad news but he was nothing to do about it. “Okay, just let me know when you have an update on how he stole the funds from our company,” Dexter ordered and after that, he ended their conversation.

He sighed slightly before telling the Chairman what his private detective had told him.

“Jonathan already left the country before we discovered that he was responsible for all of this,” he said in disgust as he gripped the glass filled with beer.

Meanwhile, after Dexie left her twin brother at the restaurant with the Chairman, she immediately got into her Porsche car and drove it to the hospital. When she arrived at the hospital and entered the room where Ellie was confined, her eyes couldn't stop the tears from the intense pity for her bedridden friend.

She slowly walked closer to her friend and sat in a chair next to the hospital bed.

“I don't know if you can hear me or not, but I still want to tell you something.” her exciting introduction.

Before continuing, she wiped her tears that dripped down her cheeks and forced herself to smile, “Did you say before you don't want to have a father like the father you grew up with, right? Your wish is been a long time came true, because he's not your real father... If you want to know who your real father is, you should wake up right away. Okay? We miss you, Ellie, so please, wake up.”

“We'll be waiting until we were able to see your smile again.”

After that, she stood up from the chair and wiped the tears that wet her face away. Before she left Ellie's room, she made a promise to her friend.

“We already know that Jonathan was the responsible for all of this, I and Dexter will make sure that he pays for what he did to you no matter what it will cause.” her commitment was firm and determined.

After a while, Dexie decided to come out of Ellie's room because she couldn't bear to see the bandage and the ventilator machine supporting her best friend's life. It makes it hard for her to see it.

But when she opened the door to go out, she saw her twin brother, Dexter.

They talked for a while sitting in the waiting shed.

“What? H-How did that happen?” Dexie is shocked to learn from her twin brother that Jonathan has escaped to Dubai.

“He used all the money he got illegally from our company to escape all the crimes he committed here.” Dexter's calm explanation.

“I-In that case, he stole money from our company?”

Dexter just nodded at her twin sister's question.

“Then use all your connections to catch him! Even if he is dead or alive, I don't care! Because we only need is to make him pay.” Dexie's strong response.

“I don't have a plan to do that.”

“Then what are you planning to do? He's the person who did this to Ellie and he's also the person who stole money from our company and then we just let him have fun in Dubai? Are you serious?” Dexie scolded as she stood up in the chair to confront her twin brother.

“C'mon, do you think I'll just let that jerk have fun while we're all miserable?” Dexter asked Dexie emphatically.

“In that case, what are you planning, huh?”

“I will make his life more miserable until he decides to end it himself.” Dexter's sarcastic response.

Dexie stopped what she wanted to say to her twin brother when she heard what it said. Her tongue seemed to recede in speech. Only now did she see such a serious face of her twin brother. “W-What do you mean?”

Slowly, Dexter stood up and approached her while his hands pocketed in his pants and he looked her straight in the eye. “He didn't know that I can do the worse more than what he can do.”

Because of what Dexie heard from her twin brother, she didn't know if it was still her twin brother anymore who used to be a coward at all times or not. Apart from the fact that it was arrogant now, it seemed that her twin brother was possessed by an evil spirit.

“I'm glad because, despite everything, our company's partnership continues.” smiling Dexter said as he shook hands with the Chairman after he signed their company’s partnership contract.

“I'm also happy because we can further strengthen the legacy of our companies, Mr. Castillo.” the Chairman's response was also happy.

Although the Chairman didn't want to attend the meeting yesterday, he forced himself because Dexter want to do it right away. Dexter tried to speed it up so that his company's trend could grow even more and cover up the theft issue made by their former Managing Director Jonathan.

Investors will lose confidence in them if this news comes out. It will also cause a decline in their stocks which they must avoid to happen.

—••5 MONTHS LATER••—

It's been almost six months since Ellie had the accident and she still hasn't woken up. They thought of giving up but every time they saw that Ellie was still fighting for her life with each passing day, they couldn't do it. They believe that the day will come when they will hear Ellie's voice and laughter again but while that day hasn't yet come, they have to continue to live normally.

In recent months, Dexter's company's sales have been steadily rising even though it has a new competitor in the real estate field. Since Dexter's Dad won the senatorship, Dexter had to take over the position of his Dad as a new Chairman of STENSON GROUP.

“We're both Chairman now but my daughter still doesn't wake up, it makes me sad because she didn't see the growth of our company.” said the Chairman while having tea in Dexter's office.

“We have no idea when she will wake up or if there is any hope.” Dexter's calm response.

The Chairman just nodded, because for him the young man had a point. Even if they want Ellie to wake up, they can't do anything if the God himself decides everything.

“Okay, let's change our topic.” Chairman Sanchez changed the subject as he lowered his cup of tea to the coffee table, “Anyway, when are you going to marry your fiancée?”

“When she finally went to this country to see me.” Dexter's sparing answer.

As they were talking, Dexter's secretary suddenly entered.

“Excuse me, Sir.”

“What's that?” Dexter replied.

“Sir, there someone wants to talk to you in the lobby.”

Dexter just nodded, “Fine, you can leave us now and go back to your work.”

After the secretary informed Dexter that someone wanted to talk to him, the secretary came out immediately.

“Looks like you still have a meeting so I'll go home now.” Chairman's smiling said.

Dexter just nodded as the Chairman got up from his seat.

Shortly after the Chairman left, Dexter went to the lobby where a maiden was sitting on the sofa waiting for him. A sweet smile immediately greeted him.

“Love, when did you come here?” smiling Dexter asked the woman while he approached her.

Instead of answering the young man's question, the maiden hugged him tightly, which was obvious that the maiden miss him so much.

The maiden who hugged Dexter was his fiancée Camille Anderson, a Filipino-American model. Not only has a goddess beauty but she also has a good heart, especially for children.

She always volunteered to go to poor countries to teach the youth there. Apart from being a model, she used to be a teacher so she will be close to young people who find it difficult to get good education due to financial problems and lack of facilities for it. She's so kind.

“Love, I miss you so much.” the girl whispered as she hugged Dexter.

Dexter immediately responded. “I miss you too.”

“Really? It doesn't seem like that.” the maiden said with a sigh.

Because of this, Dexter struggled in his fiancée's embrace, not because he was irritated by her but because he wanted to give her a welcome kiss. He was very happy to see his fiancée again.

Camille was shocked but lost her worries because of it.

“You just don't know how much I miss you,” Dexter said romantically after he kissed his fiancée.

“Sorry if I got worried... I miss you too so much,” Camille replied while her tears fell down from her eyes because of the joy of seeing her beloved fiancé again.

—••5 YEARS AGO••—

After class, Dexter preferred to just walk home than ride in a Lamborghini with his two bodyguards to exercise himself. While he was walking, his two bodyguards secretly followed him to keep him safe.

Moments later, the cellphone suddenly rang inside his jacket. He stopped first to answer his twin sister's call.

“Hello?”

“Hello, Dexie, why were you suddenly called?” joyful voice of Dexter while he was speaking but it was suddenly replaced by sadness voice when he heard what his twin sister Dexie said.

“I call you because Ellie is getting married to Jonathan tomorrow.” the bad news that immediately broke the young man's heart into pieces.

His world almost collapsed when he heard what Dexie said.

“Please let her know that I am happy for her and I wish her happiness.” his forcedly said.

Even six years ago after he got rejected by Ellie, Dexter still hadn’t lost hope that he would also achieve Ellie’s love on his return but this hope suddenly disappeared after he knows that his beloved woman was getting married to his rival.

Dexter's tears slowly dripped as the rain began to fall and he slowly lowered the cellphone from his ear but suddenly a beautiful maiden collided with him resulting to sit him on the wet floor.

“Oh!!!” maiden's shocked.

The two bodyguards had to help Dexter but the maiden who hit him was suddenly offered its hand to help him stand from the wet floor, then the two bodyguards remained silent behind his back.

“I'm so sorry...Are you okay?” the maiden was concerned.

Dexter just nodded at the girl while slowly standing up with the girl's help.

“Oh, you're so wet! Don't you have an umbrella? In that case, I'll take you to your house so you don't get sick, okay?” thoughtful suggestion of the maiden in conjunction with its smile.

Because of this, Dexter didn't have a chance to refuse, and instead, he agreed to be accompanied by the maiden. As they walked, Dexter was remain silent, which make the girl wonder about him. Since the maiden wanted to get Dexter's attention, she stopped walking and introduced herself to him.

“I'm Camille Anderson, we just moved here from New York, Nice to meet you.” the smiling maiden introduced.

Even though Dexter was out of his sense, he still forced himself to introduce.

“I'm Dexter Castillo, nice to meet you too,” Dexter's simple introduction.

The maiden knew that the young man she was talking to felt awkward with her so she just smiled at him. “Let's be friends, Dexter!” then she grabbed the hand of a sad young man to make shake hands.

The happiness on their faces was so undeniable when they see each other again after almost a year of being apart.

“I'll never go away from your side again because I love you so much.” Camille's heartwarming promise.

“I don't have to say those words to you because I already do it, so keep that promise because I'm counting on you, okay?” Dexter's response.

“Okay, Mr. Dexter Castillo.” then she gently touch the jowl of her beloved fiancé accompanied by her sweet smile.
