Another hybrid

Chapter 4 Elderin The joy I felt couldn't be described. I had finally gotten through to Lila and I was fairly certain Damien had no idea I had.  I missed her. It was amazing how instantly I grew attached to her in a father role. Once we completed the joining it was like she had always been there. Well , for me, she had. I think back on my times with the ice witch and Lila made it so much more bearable, but there was always this quiet sadness about her. I remember asking once and they said she would tell me of  her own accord as our futures were intertwined. i just never imagined they meant like this. Life was weird. I have my sister back. I have a mate. I have a brother in mating and a daughter. All things I n ever thought I would have or that I wanted. I had such guilt from surviving that night. I shook it off as I felt my wolfs despair. We had been through a lot and now his pup was missing. 'We'll get her back.' 'I know.' His reply was stoic and expected. 'She said she was ok and he wasn't hurting her. She wouldn't have lied.' Silence. 'Her wolf said the same.'That made me feel better. Maybe he really had no intentions to hurt her. I don't know what kind of fae this guy is. They don't usually behave like this. I shook it off and headed downstairs.  This pack was beautiful. It was in the middle of what I wanted to call a desert but yet was comfortable and not burning up. I still wouldn't want to live here. It was quite when I got down there. A member of this pack greeted me and asked if I was hungry. I nodded. "I'm sorry about your pup." The she wolf said while fixing my plate. "Thank you." I murmured in response. She slid the pate to me. "She is a witch correct?" I looked up at her. "Sorry. My name is Alora. I ask because I have some witch blood in me. This pack took me in. My guardian passed a way a few years ago but they let me stay and treat me like their own. It's rare for packs to do this here." I looked her over. She was young. Maybe twenty. She was also correct. Wolf/witch hybrids had been shunned historically and I never understood it. They can be powerful allies but generally are pushed in to being powerful enemies. Lila is barley starting to mature and is more powerful than some witches so I am glad we have her. "I'm glad you found a home. I know the dilemma your nature can present for some. " She nodded. You don't know many hybrids like us do you?" I shook  my head. They were rare.  She leaned in closer. "So then, you probably don't know we are kind of our own little pack and can communicate and track each other huh?" My head snapped up. " I cold probably contact and track her for you, but I would need one little favor." She gave me a huge smile. That let me know she was probably about to ask for something no sane person would give her, but I am desperate. "Name your price."
