" He was interested. I breathed a sigh of relief. If I played this right I could help find another like myself and maybe even find my mate. Or at least a chosen mate. I was so lonely here. Sure, the pack liked me and accepted me and I had friends but I craved the attention of a mate. I had been cast out of a lot of places. My past was dark and I often felt unloved and undesired. I was depressed. I did my best to hide it but at the end of the day that is what it was, I was just flat out depressed. I looked him in the eye. "I will contact and keep contact with her, but I want to come and I want to join your pack. " I tried to make my voice sound strong and steady but it felt like he was looking through me , like he could see the real me. The one I hide from everyone else. The longer I held eye contact with him, the worse it felt. He reminded me of when Alpha found me.
I was crying. Everything was on fire. I didn't see my mom or the other pups. I cried softly to myself. I don't understand and I was cold. I tried to remember how mom told me to make a fire. I got the rocks and stuff then held my hands and chanted. Soon, a small ember appeared and grew into a fire. I nibbled on the peanuts she had put in my pocket. I looked around me. My home was gone. I wasn't sure what to do. My wolf told me to sleep so I did. When I woke up I heard paws stepping through the snow. I sat up and soon two wolves were in front of me. They were humongous and I was scared. I cloaked myself but it didn't last long. When I reappeared there was a man there instead of the wolf. He was an alpha. 'Little one did you live here?' I nodded. 'Can you tell me what happened?' I nodded.
' The warriors said we had to be hid. The pups so my mommy hid me but not with the other pups cause they don't all like me. They say I'm different. So she put me in the cabinet and gave me a juice and some peanuts and said she would be back. I waited a long time but no one came. So i got out and the house was bad. It looks like this. I can't find my family. I can't find anyone. ' I started to cry. He picked me up. 'It's ok. My pack isn't too far. You can come with us. Did you see who did this? I nodded. 'It was some wolves and some other things. fairies I think they are called. ' 'Fae.' He corrected me. He set me on the back of the other wolf. Hold on tight. It won't take long ok. ? I nodded and held tightly to the wolf. It was so pretty and moved so gently. I loved it already. We had barely left my territory before I fell asleep. when I woke up, I was in a comfy bed and the man was back. 'Do you know what you are?' I nodded. A hybrid mommy said. Witch and wolf. ' He nodded. 'Is my mommy dead? ' He nodded again and I started to cry. 'I don't know how to have a job.' A woman came in and rubbed my back. ' You are too young for a job. How old are you?' 'I'm 7.'I can cook.' I tried to make myself seem big and important because otherwise I don't think they will hire me. ' 'That's very nice. You can help me sometimes if you want but you will mainly go to school. for now.' I looked down at the bed. ' I don't have money for school. ' They both laughed. 'It's fine. ' The man said. 'Just get good grades and help your pack out. Its what we expect of all pups. ' It took me a moment to realize they were letting me stay. 'It's ok that I can't pay?' I looked at them both. 'Absolutely fine. just remember to check the chore board starting next week and do your chores and get good grades.'We will have to tell the council you are here so they don't search for you, but we have a witch to train you so they won't come take you.' I drifted back off to sleep while they explained how my new life would be.
I loved it here but I was hurt here. I was the last surviving member of my small pack. the hybrid no one wanted to mate with. I knew there was a mate for me somewhere, i just wasn't sure where. "I'll talk to my alpha and luna about it." his voice snapped me out of my reflections. "You will?" He nodded. " I am not sure what it is but I sense that this needs to happen. You belong with us.' He gave me a big smile. "So." I cleared my throat. ' Will I have anything to be worried about.' It took him a moment to catch on. He chuckled. " We have fae living in our pack. I think you will have more trouble getting this pack to let you go. But seriously,we are accepting people." I nodded. "Let's try reaching..." . " my precious Lila." He interrupted. " Can you explain a bit about this link? I never heard of it." I sighed. " I guess it is a gift from the moon goddess we can hear each other easily no matter where we are. We can find each other. I guess because we are family even though we aren't pack. United in being outcast usually. give me anything of hers and I can make the connection." He jumped up and ran. I felt sorry for him. I could see in his eyes he was tired but this was more important. The girl was loved a lot. Hopefully I can find her and find someone in her pack to care about me as much.
