Serina
We returned to the pack house, and the trip was short-lived so as to not arouse any suspicion, since there was probably a missing poster up knowing my parents. Wayne told me I should go put on some of the clothes we bought, and obliged, ready to get out of his.
I headed up to the room taking the bags full of designer clothes with me. I opened the door, heading inside, Wayne had some pack obligations to fulfill, so it looked like I was on my own for the day, at least I was free to wander the pack grounds.
I put on some of the clothes we bought. I was in the mood for Donatella Versace accessories to match the black Dior dress, and the black Chanel heels I was wearing. The silver matched it perfectly if I do say so myself.
A smile plastered itself on my face, the flared long dress was stunning, and framed my body perfectly. I finished putting on some light makeup to make the outfit stand out more, and bring everything together.
Once I was happy with how everything looked, I decided to go for a walk around the pack grounds. I headed down the stairs towards the kitchen as I was craving some coffee, when I decided to sit down at the table, alone might I add. Not that I really minded being alone, at least I wasn’t near Wayne for a while. I hated how he made me feel.
I need to find a way to stop those feelings. I mean he kidnapped me after all. That is when I noticed a beautiful girl around the same age as me walking towards the dining table. She seemed nice, she had a soft smile, long blonde hair tied in a messy bun, and she walked like she owned the place.
“Hey there, looks like my brother has gotten quite the obsession with you. I just had to come over and see what all the fuss was about. I am Alexandra, Alex for short. It is so nice to finally meet you properly.” She smiled sweetly, taking a seat across from me.
“It’s nice meeting you as well! I’m sorry I would be more optimistic given different circumstances, as I’m sure you can understand.” I said, referring to the fact that I had been kidnapped, and would be much happier if we had met normally, that, however, wasn’t the reality.
Her smile faltered slightly, almost like she pitied me in some way. “Right, well, if it is any consolation, I think you look stunning today. You most definitely will turn heads. Want to be friends? I’m guessing it gets lonely not knowing anyone here.” She offered, a slight smile on her lips, and a hopeful look in her eyes.
Maybe I could use this moment to my advantage, so I returned her smile. “I would like that.” I replied, making her face glow with joy.
“Awesome! This is going to be great!” Her excitement was contagious, making me giggle, and nod in agreement. The both of us chatted for a while, finishing our coffee. I told her my plans for the day, and she asked if she could accompany me on my walk, which I agreed to.
We walked around the pack grounds, everyone looked at us in a way that one does when viewing a model modeling a designer’s collections. I smiled, knowing they were all awe-struck. Alexandra insisted that we go for milkshakes, which to me sounded like the perfect way to celebrate our newly found friendship.
We arrived at one of the restaurants and sat down at one of the VIP booths, which was a few floors up, so you could view the woodlands from above. Miles and miles of trees stretched in every which way, it looked like there really was no hope of me getting out of here alone.
I snapped back to reality when the waitress approached us. “Welcome to Le café restaurant, how might I assist you today? The waitress spoke, grabbing both our attention. This was a very fine establishment, whoever owned it must have had a lot of money.
“We will start off with a bottle of your finest Champagne, and a Mascarpone Cheesecake, for each of us to pair it with.” Alexandra ordered, and she clearly knew her stuff. I smiled, thanking the waitress as she walked away.
Alexandra and I talked for quite a bit before the waitress came back with our orders. The presentation was phenomenal, from the raspberry purée, to the candied lemon peels on top.
Alexandra couldn’t wait to dig in as she took her spoon, savouring each bite. I joined her shortly after, and to say the cheesecake was great, would be an understatement, it tasted even better than it looked! “You know…” Alexandra trailed off, making my head turn in curiosity.
“Yeah?” I looked at her quizzically.
“My brother really likes you, you know. I am guessing you do not know all that much about how werewolves work, just like we are utterly clueless as to what you witches are fully capable of.” She had no conviction in her tone, she was simply just stating facts.
“That would be a correct assumption of you.” I said, as a giggle threatened to escape. To think there was someone here I could actually talk to, was such a relief.
“Would you like to know why you are feeling the things you do for him, in exchange for showing me some of the stuff you guys can do? I promise I won’t tell another living soul.” She held out her pinky, and smiled softly.
I mirrored her actions, also holding out my pinky. We each took the other’s pinky, sealing the fact that this would stay between us.
“Deal!” I exclaimed, causing her to giggle at how silly we were being.
“So, there is this thing called a mate bond, ever heard of it?” she asked. It was probably a rhetorical question as she knew I didn’t, however, I still shook my head as a reply, indicating that I didn’t know a single thing about it.
“The mate bond is kind of like your fates have been intertwined, you two were destined to meet, and fall in love. Our goddess does this to ensure everyone is happy, and content with themselves, by having someone who fits them perfectly. You may also reject your mate, but it is not without its consequences. Both of you would be in excruciating pain, and you would feel like you are physically dying.” She warned, causing my heart to leap into my throat.
“Thanks for telling me, I suppose it is my turn to show you some magic then!” I tried to lighten the mood, and she smiled, nodding in agreement.
We finished our desserts, and headed to the pack training grounds shortly after.
