Serina
I turned, coming face to face with Wayne gripping my wrist, his father behind him. Looks like we weren’t done talking. “Serina, my father wanted to discuss some matter regarding your stay here, and what will be expected of you.” I resisted the urge to roll my eyes as I decided to hear them out, not like I had a choice to begin with, as I was still considered their hostage.
“I would like to propose a deal, Miss Ramirez.” His father spoke up. “And, just what might that be, Mister Vikander?” I asked quizzically.
“As we’ve discussed, you are free to roam the pack grounds as we’ve set boundaries in place.” He stated, sounding too proud of himself. Wayne looked at me and nodded along as his father spoke.
“Right. I hadn’t noticed.” I stated sarcastically, causing both of them to raise an eyebrow. Wayne’s father was about to say something, when he got interrupted.
“You will also have to share a room with me, since we were only holding you in the spare room, until we have decided what would be best for you.” Wayne said, as he came closer, releasing his grip on my wrist ever so slightly.
I blankly stared at the both of them, my face covered in expressions of shock and disbelief. “Right then.” Was all I could reply before wriggling my wrist out of his grasp. I inquired whether we should go, and Wayne seemed eager to leave.
We walked to his bedroom, and he opened the door, beckoning me to go inside. I entered his room, and it was surprisingly clean, not at all how I’d imagined it to be.
Wayne went to go shower, as I decided to read a book whilst I was waiting for him to finish. This was crazy, not only had I been kidnapped, but now I was forced to share a bed with him?! I guess there could have been worse scenarios at play hadn’t I complied with their wishes.
The book I was reading was my grimoire. I was desperately trying to find a way out of their grasp. However, I hadn’t learned any useful spells yet, so it was rather pointless trying to find one in here.
I guess I could train my magic in the meanwhile. Even without any spells, witches were capable of some serious damage if we focused our energies hard enough.
As if on cue, Wayne emerged from his bathroom, only wearing a towel around his waist, his tattoos almost on full display, some of them continued past the waistband of the towel. A blush slowly crept up my face, but I quickly shook those thought, what was wrong with me?!
I was supposed to hate him for kidnapping me, not fantasize about what his lower half had in store. I shook those thoughts off, and went into the bathroom. Maybe a nice hot shower was all I needed. After checking that the water was the perfect temperature, I hopped into the shower, feeling relief wash over me.
The heat relaxed all of my aching muscles from the past few days, and I felt like I could finally breathe again.
I finished the shower, the cold night air hit my body, bringing me back to reality. I dried off and slipped into one of Wayne’s shirts. They told me that they would take me to get some new clothes tomorrow, as I literally had nothing to wear.
I walked out of the bathroom, when I was met with a shirtless Wayne. To say I was in shock, was definitely an understatement, I couldn’t help but wonder why I had found it somewhat enticing. No! I shook the thoughts forming, and reminded myself why I was here in the first place, as I walked to the other side of the bed.
His eyes roamed my body, sending shivers down my spine, his eyes had changed from their usual hazel colour, to an almost golden one. I stalked towards the bed, slowly watching his gaze nervously. He seemed to recognize that his gaze made me nervous, because his eyes had returned back to their previous colour.
“Well, are you just going to stand there staring, or are you going to join me?” He asked, raising a brow in curiosity. I rolled my eyes at his arrogance, and his cocky smile.
“Just move over already.” I commanded, really not in the mood for one of his games. He moved more to the side. That is when I got the brilliant idea of putting pillows between us, I was not taking any chances. His smile fell as he looked somewhat disappointed, causing a smile to place itself on my features.
We both said our goodnights as I turned off my bedside lamplight. The room was boring, so I decided to do what every witch does. I gathered my energies, changing the room we were in to resemble the forest outside. The full moon, and stars were dancing along the roof in an endless dance, illuminating the room ever so slightly.
I caught a glimpse of Wayne’s reaction, his eyes were widened, and his mouth agape as he stared into the endless night sky I had portrayed around us, forest trees swaying in the wind on the surrounding walls, creating the perfect atmosphere.
I heard a soft “Wow” which amused me. I finally closed my eyes, feeling the bed shift. I turned around to see his back facing me. His back tattoo reminded me of home, it was of the tree of life, along with the full moon and other decorations. I found myself reaching out to touch it, before retracting my hand.
This predicament is starting to become even more complex. There was no way I could have feelings for him, even if he was as handsome as he currently was.
With that in mind, I sighed, also turning my back away from him. I closed my eyes, and let the realm of dreams consume me once again.
