Chapter 2 - New homes, and family feasts.

Serina My head hurt, and I felt dazed. The world spun around me, as I tried looking around, I couldn’t see anything, I registered that I was in a moving vehicle, and I was blindfolded, before I lost consciousness again. Sometime later, I woke up finding myself in a room. The bed I was currently laid in was huge and soft, the sheer comfort made me want to fall asleep again. I refused, however, and decided to try and find a way to escape, wherever I was. I looked around for any form of escape. I found myself frowning as it seemed that I was a few floors up, since the room led to a balcony. A smile crossed my face as I realized I could escape through the balcony. My plans were foiled for now as I heard a knock on the door. “May I come in?” Wayne asked cautiously, he probably didn’t want to upset me further. Well, I have news for him. “Leave me alone! I don’t want to talk to you!” I replied, my tone unwavering. He came in after unlocking the door, looking like a lost puppy that didn’t know what to do with himself. I looked away, unable to bare looking at the monster that had kidnapped me. He inched closer, causing me to look at him in a panic. “What do you want, Wayne?” I said, feeling defeated. “I just want to explain why we kidnapped you. I know this looks and sounds terrible, but just trust me, okay?” He said, his expression changing to a worried one. I rolled my eyes, turning away from him, and I told him to just leave. He nodded slowly before apologizing, and he left the room, much to my liking. I scanned the room trying to find something to keep me busy until nightfall, when I came across a record player, and some board games. The record player had tons of records that consisted of all the different genres and artists. A smile fixed itself on my lips as I realized these were some of my favourite artists. The smile quickly faded as I came back to reality. I really needed to get out of here. I devised a plan to play the record player as loud as possible, before opening the balcony door. I walked to the ledge, and to say I was high up… Was definitely an understatement, this place was massive! I was about six floors in the air! Yeah, no way I was going to jump that far down. I looked off into the distance when I noticed that the air around the place was distorted in the way that it would be when a person saw a gas leak. This told me he had another witch prepare a border spell, meaning my fate was sealed. I was doomed to stay here until I could find a way to break that spell. All hope seemed lost until I really thought about the situation. What if I just pretend, and play along to gain his trust? I could easily trick him to let me wander around freely, that would give me the opportunity to escape this place, although judging from the sheer size of this place I doubt it would be that easy. I sat and waited for Wayne to decide whether or not he was going to come back or not, and busied myself with the board games until then. Wayne “Well why didn’t you explain it to her anyway?!” My sister asked, looking at me in disbelief for walking out when Serina had asked me. “Because she told me to leave, and wouldn’t take no for an answer Alexandra!” I stated, irritated by the fact that she thinks she is always right given any situation. I rolled my eyes and continued to file my paperwork for an upcoming meeting. Alexandra took that as a sign to leave, which I was thankful for. I really couldn’t stand her sometimes. I eventually finished up my work, and decided that I should probably go check in on Serina, even though she might hate me and yell at me to leave again. Alexandra suggested that she eat with us at the great hall of our pack house, maybe she was right. I walked up the stairs to the top floor, each step making me even more nervous than the previous one. Was I really scared of my own mate? Does she even know she’s my mate? All the questions I had came to a rest as I stood in front of Serina’s door, half expecting her to lash out as soon as I opened the door, I knocked awaiting a response. “Come in.” She spoke softly as if she had been defeated, which made my heart twist, and a lump formed in my throat. I opened the door, revealing the most beautiful girl I had ever laid my eyes upon. Serina I looked at him as he stood in the doorway seeming to be daydreaming about something before snapping back to reality. “I brought you some food, my sister was wondering if you would like to join us for supper?” I looked at him dumbfounded before ultimately deciding to go with him. We walked down the stairs to the main hall, and everyone in the pack had their eyes on me. Some of them looked wary of my presence, while the others stared at me with hatred. I smiled to myself, knowing they hated me because of the ongoing feud between our species. They blamed us for them being like this anyway, so no use in trying to defend myself, as they seem to be set in their ways. The Alpha and Wayne were talking about their next moves on the witches, which made my blood boil, but I decided to keep quiet and nod along. The other pack members looked at me with disdain every time a witch was mentioned, which was understandable from their point of view, I suppose. Wanye looked apologetic, and I averted my gaze from his. Supper eventually ended, and everyone returned to their quarters afterward. I was making my way back to my room when I was suddenly stopped, and I turned to face the culprit.
