AMERY’S POV
My eyes grew wider and wider as I stared at the sight in front of me. What just happened? How in the world did he suddenly turn into an animal?
It made no sense. Or rather, I didn’t want it to make any sense. I was in too much shock to actually process what was going on around me.
With shaky breath and still widely opened eyes, I managed to shift my gaze from the wolf in front of me to look around me. It seemed like I was the only one in shock with what was going on as the brothers looked calm and collected.
No way.
There was no way in hell they could also change like that, right?
I didn’t get the chance to get an answer to my question though as almost immediately, Levi that had now turned into a wolf immediately charged at me in an obvious attempt to attack me.
I didn’t need to think twice, fear immediately gripping me and having me immediately let out a yell and take to my feet. Not caring if the room wasn’t wide enough for a proper sprint, I followed my instinct and ran, fully aware of a dangerous Levi in a wolf form behind me.
I could only take a few steps away though as in a flash, he was back in front of me, cornering me and stopping me from running. He was one hell of a fast runner.
A whimper escaped my lips as I stared at the wolf in front of me. I was scared, trembling beyond control and I could tell how much pleasure that brought him. It was evident in the wicked spark in his eyes.
“Wh-What do you want from me?” I dared to let out, staring at his huge wolf self. “Let me go!”
He growled at me in response and was about to move even closer towards me when his brother appeared out of nowhere, coming right in between us to push him away.
“That’s enough, Levi,” Asher growled out to stop his brother from attacking me. “Stay still.”
He seemed adamant though as he refused to stay still, continuously trying to charge at me as I watched him in fear from a distance.
After trying to push him away for a while, Asher finally reached his peak, immediately turning into a wolf just like his brother.
Fuck.
That was it. That was me reaching my limit. I had more than enough dose of the madness.
It was making no sense. Why were two wolves suddenly fighting right in front of me? It was more of a power struggle than an actual fight- the duo being confident one could stop the other.
As crazy as it was and though a part of me was curious to know how it’ll all end, I immediately got a grip of myself and took a few steps backwards from them.
They seemed engrossed in whatever power struggle they had going on and I decided to take that as an opportunity to escape without them knowing.
As quickly and sneaky as I could, I jerked backwards and immediately took to my heels, running out of the room. Luckily for me, the two fighting brothers were too busy to notice my departure, and the only one not interested in their fight was just as uninterested in me running away.
Having absolutely no idea where I was or where I was headed, I ran as fast as my legs could carry me and dashed into the woods. It was slowly getting dark already and not allowing that get to me, I continued running.
I needed to get away from them. All I needed to do was just run and go back home. To go back to my bed and pretend it all never happened.
“Help!” I desperately cried out as I ran. “Anyone? Is anyone here? Please, help me!”
All my desperate pleas fell on deaf ears as the only response I got was my voice echoing in the woods.
After running for a couple of minutes, I decided to pause to catch my breath and give my surroundings a proper look.
It was finally completely dark, the only things keeping me company in the woods being the trees and sounds of birds and other animals.
I suddenly felt frustrated all over again. I was almost kidnapped by some strange men who had nothing but strange words to utter and when I finally managed to flee from them, I was lost, having absolutely no idea where I was or where to go next.
"Hello?" I yelled out, hoping just anyone would hear me and respond. "Is anyone here? I'm lost! Hello?"
"Amery!"
My heart skipped a beat at the sound of my name, followed by a light sigh of relief. Someone had heard me and was probably going to save me.
My feeling of relief was only temporary though as the moment my name was yelled out one more time, my brain recognized the voice.
It was the voice of Asher.
The only one among the brothers that managed to give me a little bit of comfort.
I couldn't care less about what comfort he was about to give me again as I immediately took to my heels and resumed running.
At that moment, all I could think about was the fact that he was just like Levi and had turned into a wolf a few minutes ago.
For me, that was more than enough reason to run.
"Amery, wait up!" He yelled out to me, the desperation obvious in his voice as he ran after me. "Stop and listen to me."
"Amery, please!" He wasn't stopping. "Just listen to me. Everything's fine. You don't have to be scared, so just stop and listen to me. I'll explain everything, I promise. Amery!'
None could do. Absolutely none of his words that were meant to reassure me did the job.
All I needed to do was just get away from them.
"Leave me alone!" I turned to catch a glance of him as I ran. "Stop chasing- Ow!"
For the second time in the short span of only a couple of hours, I hit my leg, tripped and immediately found myself crashing head-first into a gigantic tree, getting enveloped in nothing but darkness.
