Chapter 6

Maybe sometimes, or most of the time, evil wins. But don’t forget that everything has its own time, especially with karma. Time will come that they will face their own karma and they will dance on fire of hell.  But now, it is the time of the downfall of Blood Rose Stone Pack and Chiara couldn’t do anything to save her pack, her family. The pack members knew it and understood it well. In the meantime, they were thinking about where they can live and start all over again.   “Let’s look for a place to hide, first. Where we are safe and we can stay. Then, we can look for a permanent place that the Lycans cannot find.” Chiara couldn’t talk because of what happened and all the turmoil inside her head, so the Beta spoke for her. He was the second in command, so he has the right to speak and make a decision when the Alpha is gone or not capable of that moment. As a father, he understood her. She was grieving and brokenhearted. Werewolves really took the burden when their loved one was lost.   They all followed him and they looked for a place to hide for a while. They chose a forest near the humans because it was the safest for the time being and also they can get any information from their stolen home. They knew that they couldn’t bring it back but they were still hoping for the help of the king, even if it was impossible.  The Beta’s son helped Chiara to stand up and walk. But she clenched his shirt, stopping him from walking, and asked the question that kept lingering on her head.  “My sister,” Chiara said. She hopefully looked at the Beta Brandon for any news. But she got afraid when she saw his face.  “We are still waiting for the update. I already dispatched Delta Cross to follow the trail of the kids.” Before everyone escaped from the Lycans, he really minds linked the Delta to follow the kids. They could not just let the kids wander since it is their kids and one of them was the daughter of the Alpha.  “Is there any update?” she asked again.  Before the Beta could answer, Delta Cross emerged from the dark forest. He’s with other warriors, catching their breath like someone’s following them.  “Let’s get out of here,” because they were right with their thoughts. “Lycans are following us. They saw us when we passed through the pack.” All the members got frightened. Only a few of them can fight, but almost all of them were wounded. They could not fight with this condition. All they could do was run away and hide.  “We should keep going to the border forest. They will not go there even if they do not follow the king, they are afraid of their Alpha and it is forbidden to them because of their temper. I know he has a plan, so they follow him.” After Beta Brandon said it, she approached Chiara and helped her. Chiara was exhausted, physically, emotionally, and mentally.  He easily carried her and other pack members also carried the wounded. They walked faster and followed the Beta. He entered the forest and walked in the direction opposite the enemy.  As they walked farther, they saw how the forest trees got thicker and the sun rays almost won’t come out. It was the best hiding place. Also, the smell of the forest could hide them. The scent is muddy and a strong smell of rotten flesh. They could not stand the smell, especially the children.  So they went further and looked for a place that is safe and also suitable for them. They couldn’t hear the Lycans who were following them, so they slowed down a little bit.  Chiara fell asleep while on their journey. Brandon sighed feeling sorry for her loss. At least for him, his son is with him and he still felt her other kids alive. His wife died giving birth to their youngest kid, so he will not look for her. He was calmed knowing they were both fine. But not long if they never looked for a place to reside.  He sniffed the surroundings but he could not find a place they could name as their home. They have this instinct in knowing where their home is and they could not find it.  He walked further leaving his pack behind. Until he stopped when Chiara's hand pointed into something. He got confused and looked at Chiara, but she was still asleep though her hand was pointing into something.  He tilted his head in confusion until he sniffed something like home. But the smell coming from the big wall of soil. It was a cave-like place but it was covered.  “Kenny, hold the future Alpha. I need to confirm something,” he said. Kenny, a warrior followed the Beta and held the future Alpha.  Brandon moved toward the wall and touched it. It was somehow hard but damp.  He knew he could remove the soil, so he tried to crack it with his fist. He punched the soil then a small crack appeared. He could smell what was inside. With all his force, he punched the wall again and his hand passed through the wall. The smell got strong and the pack smelled it. They all stood up and walked to him.  “Need help?” the Delta asked.  “Yes, please,” Beta answered.  “With pleasure.” With a smile on his face, he kicked the soil then it collapsed. They saw a dark hallway of the cave but they felt safe going inside.  “I’ll go first,” Beta instructed and they all just nodded.  The Beta walked inside making sure that everything was alright. The floor was strong and safe, with no dent on the walls. He never saw anything unusual. But he was still careful, especially when the snake was hanging on the wall and ceiling. Some were on the floor crawling away from him but some crawled to him. He knew different species of snakes and he could say that the snakes inside the cave were safe and not poisonous.  He went inside then stopped on the wall that blocked him from entering. It seems like the first wall but he knew there's more to it. He tried to touch it but before he could, he felt a strong current running on the wall so he retracted her hand fast.  He was amazed but also confused and worried. How could they walk inside if there's an electric current on the wall? He sighed and looked for another way they can pass through.  “We need to go inside to be safe. It is the safest place for us.” He said inside his head while touching the side walls looking for any device for the way in.  “Let me,” a voice on his back startled him. He was concentrating on the fact that he never noticed that another person was with him.  “You frightened me, Chiara," he said. Chiara just smiled at him and walked past him. He gave way and walked backward to give her space. They could say that the place is well nourished and a great place for them to stay.  His gaze fell on Chiara. She put her hand on the wall with an electric current. Brandon wanted to stop her but he stopped himself when he saw Chiara enduring the pain. He wanted to help but he was astonished when he saw that the wall lighted up. It was like knowing that person.  The wall lighted up so Chiara let go. She looked at it with a smile on her face. A smile saying she was happy that nature accepted her.  She remembered her mother. She told her once about the magical forest that will only open up for the right person. She never believed it before, thinking it was just a myth but now, she proved that she was wrong. That everything her mother said was true.  Sometimes, myth is true. No one is going to tell a story if they didn't witness it. We just need evidence to believe it.
