Chapter 10

The next morning, Angelique readied the things she might need on her travel. She didn't know where to go but as long it is far from the other werewolves. Where she will feel safe and she can call home once again.  She didn't want to go because the place was already peaceful. But it was near a pack, and it seems their alpha was a horrible one. She could not stand them if they caught her.  She read some of the information in the book given by her grandfather. Most especially, she memorizes the map that was drawn inside. She needed to know the territory of every pack and the safe route for her to travel.  She saw a sack, so she put some of the clothes of her grandfather inside. She didn't have any choice. Be naked or wear men’s clothes? She chose the latter.  She also put some fruits and water in her bag. Maybe she can find some food on the way, but it's much convenient for her to bring her own.  The next day, the sun was not still up, the birds and small mammals started to make a sound, and the wind was blowing strong, she said her last farewell to the old man who saved her.  “I will be back when all were settled. I’ll give you a proper burial and give you the acknowledgment you deserve. Thank you, grandpa, for saving me… for giving me my second life even if it took yours.” she sighed. It was really hard for Angelique to say goodbye, but she should. “Wait for me, grandpa. I will be strong and fulfill your wish. Goodbye for now.”  She stood up. She looked up and inhaled the fresh air, then she closed her eyes.  The time she opened her eyes, determination could be seen on them. She was determined to survive, to become strong, and to avenge her loved ones.  She walked to the right. According to the map, this is the way to go to the unoccupied forest. It is the hunting ground of the werewolf. It was a vast land and many wild animals, small and big, were staying there. But according to the notes written by her grandfather, there is a very thick forest at the center that no werewolves dare to enter.  If there's a forest that humans are afraid to go to, there's also for the werewolf. That is the called meadow. Maybe a meadow referred to a land full of grass, but it is also the meadow of a venomous snake. Angelique just going there out of luck.  She went on and when she got hungry, she would take fish on the river or kill a small bunny to meet her needs. She just sufficed her needs and didn't force herself to take bigger animals where she couldn't eat it all.  She traveled all day and when the sun was setting, she looked for a place to stay first. It was so hard to travel at night since werewolves are nocturnal. They will be alive and strong at night for her to fight. She didn't know how to, so she thought of her safety first.  She saw a small cave between a tree. It was small that no one can see it.  She walked inside and just fit in. She couldn't move freely but it was enough for her.  Angelique was exhausted too and she needed rest. She closed her eyes and took a rest.  But in the middle of her nap, she heard voices talking and laughing with each other. It was already nightfall. She moved closer to the tree to hide herself and her scent. She already covered herself with sap, so she was sure they will never recognize her scent.  “We really got a jackpot this time. The girls were all beautiful that I wanted to taste and devour them all.” They all laughed at what their friend said. Angelique’s forehead knitted, comprehending what they were talking about.  “You are right. Their Luna was the best, even she was dead, still so tight.” They all agreed and laughed again.  Angelique's eyes got bigger when she started to understand what was going on. They were meaner than the pack she came from. She can say that the previous pack, the Alpha was the vicious one and not his warrior. But to this pack, aloha and warriors were the same.  “But I like the younger version of the Luna. A fighter, young, sexy, hot, and pretty. I really like to fill her with my c*m. Unfortunately, she ran away. Alas!” They all agreed and said what they will do to this woman, mean the daughter of the Alpha and Luna.  Angelique couldn’t take what she was hearing. Her eyes got darker hearing what they were saying. She wanted to kill them, but how? She didn't know anything.  But she wanted to know the pack who did it. She wanted to avenge the former Alpha and Luna. To her judgment, they were all nice and these men were the person who destroyed and killed them.  Angelique endured all their laughter, mocking the old pack, and competing on who had the best s*x, or rather r*pe. She wanted to reap their heart and feed it on the pigs. Maybe even pigs won’t eat it because of the dark color.  It was dawn when they were all done. No sounds could be heard. The quietness of the place got back to how it was a while ago.  When she was sure that the men were all gone, she came out of her hiding place. The place was really so dark, but because she's a werewolf, it was easier for her to see things.  The fat woman saw a pit not far away from where she was standing. She swallowed her saliva while imagining what she was going to see there. She had some hint and it was a scary scene. Not scary because of monsters, but scary that it might be dead bodies.  She slowly approached the pit, then her horror became a reality. She shivered from what she saw. She felt sorrow and angered once again.  Angelique saw a gruesome sight that will really hunt whoever saw this. She will be haunted by this memory.  Bodies after bodies were thrown into the pit. They were dead bodies that she could not describe the situation. But she could see the hardships they went through before they were killed. From kids to adults, men to women, even a baby was thrown and lifeless. She bitterly smiled and looked for a thing that she can use to cover there up. She could not carry them one by one and bury them properly. All she could do was to let them in the pit and cover them with soil.  She saw a spade leaning on a tree trunk. She exhaled, took it, and did her work.  Slowly, she covered them all. An hour or two, she finished covering the big pit. It was so big that maybe a hundred were fit inside.  When she was done covering the bodies, she kneeled down and offered a small prayer for their souls. She didn't know their Goddess, but she believes in God. She knew everything happened for a reason.  After praying, she opened her eyes. She almost stumbled when a figure of a woman startled her. The woman was floating like she was a ghost.  Angelique didn't move. She didn't felt afraid of this woman but instead, she felt comfort and goodness from her.  “What I can do for you?” Angelique asked her. The woman smiled lovingly at the fat girl.  “I finally saw you. I am grateful that you are her mate,” she said which really puzzled Angelique.  “What do you mean?” She stood up and talk to the ghost properly.  “It’s nothing, and that's not the reason why I am not here,” she paused and looked at Angelique’s eyes. “The Moon Goddess orders me to come here and tell this to you.”  “I am listening,” she said, looking at the woman with curiosity.  “You need to be strong, clean the kingdom, and ready the kingdom for her daughter that will come down. She wanted a peaceful life for her, and her daughter will be coming from your lineage.” Angelique didn't know if she would believe it because she knew she’s not attracted to guys, so how would she reproduce? “Don’t worry. Your questions will be answered soon. But now, as a Luna, I am thankful for our burial. You gave us peace in our souls. We are thankful.”  From what she said, Angelique remembered what she heard a while ago. She got sad when she knew who this woman was. She also remembered her mother that experienced the same thing. She sighed and didn't know what to do so she kept quiet.  “I came here to give this to you,” she said and gave Angelique two necklaces with a color red pendant. “It symbolizes our pack and is also blessed by the Goddess. It will help you to your destination. It will guide and show you the way for you to accomplish your task.”  “I have two daughters and give these to them. The one with a white dot on the center, give that to my youngest. She is the first person you will see after me. Give that on her eighteenth birthday.  Then the other one, your mate.” She smiled, which made Angelique standstill. “Please, help us and take care.”  She didn't hear the last words. All she thought was the word mate, meaning she has someone who was waiting for her. It warmed her heart hearing she has one. She also remembered… “My mate is female?” she asked but no one answered. She didn't see the woman again but she was happy to hear it.  She put the necklace on her neck for it to be safe. She won't misplace it like before.  “I have a mate,” she repeatedly said it like a mantra. She was happy but curious.  She wanted to imagine what her mate would be like, but she still needed to be safe. She needed to keep going and do what the woman said.  She got the map again and examined it. Looking for another route she can take. She knew it was not safe to walk there because of the new Alpha. She had a bad feeling about it.  She found one, long way but still safe.  She hid all her things, she kept the spade and walked away. She looked at the burial one last time before she continued her journey.  The weather was so hot but she still needed to go on. She made sure no one would see her and passed through all the territory, safely.  It was almost night and she needed to rest. She looked for a place to stay for a night.  But on the wrong footing, she fell down on a small pit. She was just thankful that there is no spike in the between. She was still alive.  “What do you think?” A male kid's voice said that made Angelique frown. frowned. She never thought that kids were also fierce nowadays.   “We have to kill her,” another one. Then another. They were arguing about what they going to do to her  Angelique became frustrated because of their noise. She didn't want to hear it like she was under something and she will die. She didn't want it. But what can she do? “Guys,” she called, “everything you said was not true.  I won’t hurt you since I don't know how to fight myself. I don’t even know you kids. I ran away, so I am still looking for a place to stay. And I just turned to werewolf, last day.” “Are you sure?” a small voice said. Angelique looked up and saw a kid she never thought existed. Whatever the Goddess said was true.  Angelique was happy to find her. She’s beautiful like her mother.
