Chapter 13

On hearing that she cannot deliver on her own,he felt like his world is crushing."I can't afford to lose my wife,she is the most beautiful thing that ever happens to me",he lamented.

The doctor who was attending to him felt moved to the marrow,"Sir,your wife will have to go through the scapel,can you afford that ?"he said expressionless."I can afford it, please go and do it ."You will have to sign some papers sir and also deposit the money into the hospital's account"."okay sir ",he responded in tears.He signed the appropriate documents and deposit the money into the appropriate account.

After all has been done,he sat looking like a child,he recalled all the misdeeds he had done in the past."God,my wife do not deserve death,she is a wonderful woman".

Agora was taken to the theatre room,the doctors tried their best and the operation was successful.One of the doctors came out and declare the ceaserean section successful."Young man, congratulations,your wife is fine and your twin are alive too,once again , congratulations ".The doctor is long gone before George could process the information in his brain ."Wow,I can't believe it",he smiled.

After six hours,Agora waked up feeling pains in her stomach,she could see his husband sleeping beside her and also two cots.She attempt to wake him but was afraid because she did not know what his reaction will be.

Chapter 13

"Oh,babe,you are awake ","Yes,it has been almost an hour I woke up, where is my child and why am I feeling pains ?","do not worry about anything ,your children are fine","Children,but I did X-ray and they saw a child,a boy "she said looking at him as if he is suffering from memory loss."My dear,things beyond natural happens"he said looking at her as if she is fragile ."They are over there",she was surprise and all she can do is to wipe tears of joy off her cheeks.Her joy knew no bounds.She felt raptured

After twelve days,Agora returned home although fine and healthy but not very strong.She returned to meet people in her house who came to welcome her and celebrate with her.She felt honoured.

Desire ,her friend,really tried for her,she bath her children for her,both are males.She really did well and Agora was very grateful for this.

Agora is an orphan,she is forty Five years when she gave birth and George mother too is very old to care for children now.She thank God for bringing into her life her beautiful friend.

Everything is going well until one morning when she heard someone knocking the door in anger,she wondered who ,because her husband had gone to his work place and cannot return now while Desire had gone to Lagos.

She placed Leonard,one of the twin in his cot ,Fredrick is asleep .She moved gently to avoid waking him.She open the door gently and slugglishly.To her utmost surprise,the person is her husband, looking shabby and unkempt.She allowed him,"Why do you look ......,

Chapter 14

He sigh ,"Where will I start from?I am finished"."Stop saying negative words my dear,tell me what happened?"."They said my service is no longer needed,that the company is in debt and they have to retrench some people, where will I start from?which company will be willing to employ me?I am done for!"he lamented.

Agora felt bad but she needs to be strong for her husband and children."George,I know you are a strong man, please stop saying derogatory words to yourself instead confess positive words to your life and things will fall in place,God will do something ",she assured,she smiled at him.Her husband looked at her shocked but he did not utter a word.

Things were no longer rosy, George sank into depression.Agora is now working,she sells wares in the market . Through the little money she earn she is able to put food on the table and also put her children in the only primary school in the village.Her husband stays in the house thinking,he refuse to talk to anyone,this went on until a fateful Saturday.....

Agora went out to collect her money from one of her customers and the children went to desire's house,the children are now four years how time flies. On getting back,she met her husband in the bathroom stark naked unable to move just shivering."She was astonish because she saw him before she went out hale and hearty."You this man"she tries to carry him but he slips off her hand,she tries carrying and this time it worked.Gently, she carried him to the bedroom, clean him up.He was conscious but he couldn't talk or move but he was aware of things going on around him.

"See what you have done to yourself now ,all this while I told you to desist from thinking, I told you to stop flashing back but look for solution,you decide to be adamant, I hope this is not stroke, where do you want me to start from?",tears welled up in her eyes,she quickly wipe it off.George himself could not stop crying too as he sees her damsel lamenting.

After making sure he is asleep,she went to the hospital to beg one of the doctors to follow her home.She got to the hospital.Immediately she got to the hospital she saw a doctor standing beside a nurse,"I need your help sir"

Chapter 15

"How may I help you madam?" the doctor replied,"My husband is at home now,he cannot walk or talk and it started this morning,sir,if you don't mind please follow me home so he can be treated.

Dr.Derick,one of the doctors in the hospital knows Mrs.Derten to be a kind and caring woman.He looked at her and muttered "Give me a few minutes".He whispered into the nurse ear and she nodded.

He followed her home, George who laid on the bed like a log of wood looked toward their direction as his wife and the doctor comes in.

The doctor who came in with a box sat down beside him,open the box and bought out his stethoscope check his heart beats and other necessary thing .He nodded after he was done with it and he looked at Agora,"Madam,your husband is suffering from stroke which means he is paralysed but with the aid of drugs and therapy he might recover.Agora looked at his husband and wept,"Where will I start from?"
