The shop’s menu is not only limited to serving ice cream but they also serve milkshakes, pastries, waffles, and pancakes. It was a place mostly frequented by families, couples, or a group of friends that are looking for a place to chat or hang out.
About 20 minutes later, Mrs. Dorothy came out of the kitchen bringing two trays with her at once. One tray was on each of her hands. Lucas and Michael were about to stand up and help her with it but Mrs. Dorothy told them to sit back down.
She arrived at the table and set the trays down. Both friends wondered how much strength their grandma Dorothy possesses.
They remembered the bone-crushing hug they received earlier, they decided to shut up.
“Here you go boys if you need anything call for Amy over there.” She pointed at a cute blond human girl working behind the register. “I’ll be back at the kitchen.” Without waiting for their answers she left.
The shop was rather bustling, it was no wonder Mrs. Dorothy was in a hurry to go back to the kitchen.
Lucas and Michael looked at the number of dishes their grandma Dorothy had given them. There were two servings of ice cream on a bowl, one was vanilla flavored, drizzled with strawberry and chocolate syrup with marshmallows on top, there was also crushed Oreos sprinkled all over it. The other bowl consisted of chocolate-flavored ice cream, drizzled with caramel syrup with two whole Oreos on top.
Next to the ice cream were four pieces of éclairs, two small bowls of diced fruits, two servings of waffles, and four pieces of different flavored donuts.
Their faces twitched at the amount of dishes grandma Dorothy gave them.
Nonetheless, they did not complain instead they were grateful. They ate while occasionally chatting. In their hearts, they were hoping that they wouldn’t get diabetes from consuming all this sweet food.
They gobbled everything on the plate not leaving any leftovers behind. They remained seated to rest for a couple of minutes before going home.
“Wahhh, my stomach is bloated.” Lucas looked at Michael who was touching and poking his own stomach.
Sure enough, it did look a little bloated, and Lucas couldn’t help but chuckle about it. Michael sent his friend a glare when he heard the noise.
"What are you laughing at?! Your belly is also bloated, ha!" Michael retorted.
“I’ll go get us some water.” Instead of answering Lucas stood up and left with an amused expression on his face. Michael just answered with a 'humph' and continued to rub his belly.
Lucas walked towards the human girl named Amy and asked for two glasses of water for their table. After confirming it to her, he then sauntered back to their table. The human girl couldn’t help but blush with her encounter with Lucas.
‘Ah, how handsome…’ she said to herself. ‘Too bad they’re already dating.’ The girl, Amy, had clearly misunderstood the situation.
Since the moment Mrs. Dorothy assigned her to assist the two men, she instantly fell for the guy with dark hair and dark eyes. She had thought about asking Lucas for his number once the chance presents itself.
She couldn’t help but secretly steal glances at the two men across her, it was then that she witnessed a scene where the dark brown-haired young man went close to the other guy's face to wipe the corner of his lips.
She was shocked but she quickly got over it. The thought of the two just being close friends did not even cross her mind once.
‘Well, they do look cute together.’ She couldn’t help but agree to her own statement.
She snapped out of her thoughts and went to their table to serve them water. When she neared them she unintentionally heard their conversion that made her own belief of the two friends dating each other solidify.
“Can I sleep with you tonight?” After hearing those ambiguous words come out of the dark brown-haired boy, her face instantly turned red and she quickly left their table.
Looking at the girl’s reaction, Lucas knew she misunderstood their conversation. He sighed and playfully smacked Michael’s head.
“Can you choose your words carefully next time?” Lucas said.
“Huh?” The clueless Michael felt wronged. He just wanted to sleep at his friend’s house and wondered why he was being scolded.
It wasn't long till they finally stood up to leave. They went to the kitchen to search for Mrs. Dorothy and bid their goodbyes, they left but not before promising her that they will visit again soon.
After the two already left, only then did Mrs. Dorothy discovered that Lucas and Michael had secretly paid for the food.
“Those kids…” Mrs. Dorothy can only helplessly laugh at this.
…
It was a day well spent, the two friends arrived at Lucas’ house somewhere around six o’clock in the evening. They greeted Lucas’s mother who had just finished preparing dinner.
She wasn’t surprised at Michael’s arrival because Lucas had called her about Michael staying over and her son also informed her about their visit to Mrs. Dorothy in the city.
Hearing her son mention Mrs. Dorothy she knew that they wouldn’t need to eat a lot for dinner as the elderly would not let the two leave with empty stomachs.
The two friends washed and changed their clothes before they gathered together at the table for supper.
Afterward, they set up a futon next to the bed for Michael to sleep in.
Lucas and Michael did not immediately go to bed but instead, they spent the night playing games till midnight.
Later, the two friends were knocked out on the bed completely forgetting about the futon set up on the floor.
