ch 15 moon Goddess

Emma was aware of the darkness once again. she heard a voice in the distance and beeping. her eyes began to flutter as she felt warmth on her hand. someone was holding it calling her name. she felt tears and she faintly squeezed the hand that held hers so tightly. her eyes fluttered open as she saw Colin jump up and scream for the dr. Colin grabbed her cheeks in both hands kissing her lips and her cheeks crying as he was thanking her for waking up. " baby you're awake!" kissing her more as the dr and a few nurses came filing in. " you saved everyone! you saved the entire pack!" he backed up so the dr could squeeze in. never letting his touch leave her. she smiled as his words sank in. the dr checked her over and checked her vitals and then smiled at her.

" well miss Emma it looks as though you are going to recover very nicely. I see no problem letting you go early tomorrow. we shall keep you for observation over night. " he glanced at his nurses motioning for them to leave. Colin came back to her side smiling a big goofy grin.

" Emma you were amazing. you kept everyone safe and because of you there are no hunters left to attack. your power was so amazing and you...." he grabbed her cheeks again," there are no words to tell you how proud I am of you." Emma smiled at Colin her head still pounding but so grateful not a single pack member died.

" I'm sorry about Becka......" Emma trailed off remembering her death. " I tried to warn her so many times. I know she meant a lot to you...." Emma looked away from Colin as she spoke. he reached out to her again grabbing her hand in both of his.

" no you mean a lot to me. you mean everything in this world to me. I could never live without you Emma...." tears began spilling as he spoke to her, " you are my breath. the only life I want is with you. I wasn't living without you. I was just existing and now, with you by my side as my equal as my life as my Luna I'm living and happier than I ever thought possible. you are my breath. Becka could never be that for me." he looked at Emma as she shifted towards him their eyes catching each other gazes. " I'm sorry this all happened and that Becka ever even had a chance to do something like this. she put the entire pack in danger and was going to let them die. I can't forgive her for that. she won't be getting an honorable burial. she doesn't deserve it." Colin looked sad at the thought. Emma knew he had trusted her and cared for her and her betrayal ran deep within him. she grabbed his hand and kissed his fingers. they sat in silence for a few moments taking time to absorb everything that had happened. "emma?" Colin looked at her questioningly.

" I know what you're going to ask," Emma smiled so brightly that Colin hitched his breath holding it in while she talked. " yes i am pregnant. you are going to be a dad." colin jumped up at the news releasing his breath kissing Emma's soft lips.

" I'm going to be a dad!" he couldn't be prouder in this moment. everything he had ever wanted was laying right her giving him a gift that he wasn't sure would ever happen. " but, how were you able to shift? wolves can't shift while pregnant. it can kill the pup."

" well, it's one of my gifts. I can protect. even while pregnant. especially our pups. our pup is rare." he looked at her quizzically. " we are rare Colin. you are a black wolf and the last of its kind. you are a prince and I am a white wolf and the last of my kind. I am a princess. this little one is royalty and even more rare than both of us. the first ever beautiful mix of black wolf and white wolf. this little one will have gifts from both of us and the moon Goddess. a very special little one."

" what do you mean I am the last of my kind? my father and mother are still....." Colin was interrupted by a knock at the door. alpha Lawrence and Luna came walking in. " dad! mom!" Colin looked at them in surprise.

they both looked at Emma then at Colin. his father motioned for Colin to sit. " son," his father cleared his throat, " We need to talk with you. it's time. we should have had this conversation a long time ago. " his father looked heavily at his mother than at Colin. " we want you to know that we are your parents and we love you completely and entirely and what we say doesn't change that."

" what father?" Colin was beginning to worry. " tell me what's wrong!" he yelled.

" there is no easy way to say this...." his father looked down with a sad expression on his face. worry evident in the creases. " your mom and I tried for a long time to have pups. eventually we came to the realization that it just wasn't going to happen for us. when we found you after the back wolves and white wolves had been slaughtered we knew you were meant for us..... " he trailed slightly off. " we love you so much and we wanted you more than anything. never once did we doubt you were meant for us to find and love. "

his mother reached out holding Colin's hand as Emma's mouth dropped. " you are our son. and we raised you as such. all your family had been wiped out. every royal. " she smiled at him with love and sadness in her eyes. " you are the true prince of the black night wolf pack..... well I suppose king now since you are the only remaining one of your kind. we just wanted you to be safe and loved. Goddess gave you to us just as much as she gave us to you. we love you so much and it was the greatest pleasure to watch you grow into the wolf you are today." she smiled once again looking up into Colin's face. " I would never give one second of it up. it was all worth it."

Colin sat solemnly for a while. his mother's hand holding one of his and Emma his other. the only sounds in the hospital room was small sobs from his parents and the beeping of Emma's machines. he was trying to process everything he was told. his parents who raised him weren't his parents. he was actually a black wolf. a prince of wolves. how was he supposed to process all of that. " I can't do it" Colin took the entire room by surprise. " I can't do it on my own. it's too much. too much power and it's all overwhelming. I can't do it "

" you wont be alone Colin. " Emma said with a yawn as her eyes grew heavy. " I will be by your side as will both your parents. these two chose to be your parents. they didn't have to love you but they did anyways. they chose you. they have been amazing and gave you more love then anyone else would have." Emma started to trail off as she began to fall asleep her body needing the rest. " that is more than most people could ever pray for." and with her last statement Emma drifted off into a peaceful slumber. everyone sat in silence so she could get her rest she rightfully deserved.
