ch 16 the orphan

Emma was being released from the hospital when Colin walked in. he leaned against the door as he quietly watched her pack her things. " I can smell you Colin " she smiled. he came and wrapped his arms around her waist as he placed his head into her neck breathing her in. only she could calm him and bring peace to him. he needed her and he knew he would do anything to keep her by him always. " you ok?" Emma asked.

" mmmmmm, I just can't get enough of you ever." he finally released her from his hold. " I talked with my parents today." he trailed off a little. " the council of wolves and other beings convened and they made some decisions. "

Emma c****d her head up at him. " what did they decide?" Emma knew this would determine the future of their lives, their children's lives and that of their families.

Colin smiled at her deeply gazing into her eyes. " they are rebuilding the palace between the original white wolf pack and black wolf pack. they said to meet in the middle and give common ground. we will also be given our titles rightfully bestowed upon us and our children. we will now rule over the kingdom of wolves like the moon Goddess intended us to do.... with our families of course." Emma sat down on the bed in the room trying to take it all in. so much had happened in such a short time frame it was beginning to overwhelm her. " that's if you want it Emma. we don't have to take it. we can go away to a cabin in the woods just you and I and our child if that's what you want. I just want to be with you. you will always be my home."

Emma smiled as she placed a hand on his cheek. " I couldn't imagine ruling over everyone....... but, with you by my side my king, we can make everything right again. I can feel this is where we are supposed to be."

Colin couldn't let go of the happiness and love swelling inside him. " shall we go my queen?" Emma took his hand as he grabbed her things and they left the hospital room.

Life as a royal was different from anything Emma had ever done. she had to take classes on etiquette and the proper way of doing things. she had to double her efforts since she was raised as a human. the council had agreed to bestow the title and of queen on her only if she met these requirements and learned their ways. Emma knew if she were going to be allowed to make changes she needed to follow along. she had huge plans for the wolf kingdom. the new castle was being built at record speed. Emma had protested such a big castle but the council had made it clear that she needed certain amenities for visiting royalty and staff. Emma got up and dressed for one of her royal classes to learn about her duties. she had to drop out of med school for now. she wasn't happy about it even though she had decided she really didn't want to be a dr she wanted to finish what she had worked so hard for. she was now working along side other royals and learning the duties of a queen. with Emma always learning her duties and Colin being thrust into being a king already they barely spent time together. Emma and her wolf were starting to be sad and trying not to show it.

Emma walked quietly. She was inside her head trying not to be lost in her thoughts of missing Colin. out of nowhere two arms wrapped around her waist and Emma yelped out. Emma instinctively jammed her leg behind her getting her attacker between the legs. her attacker let go and went down as she turned to kick again she realized it was Colin. " ohhh!!! Colin baby are you ok? I'm so sorry!!! I didn't know it was you!" she kneeled down to check on him as he winced in pain.

" at least I know you can definitely take care of yourself in a sneak attack" he said as he held onto himself. " I'm sorry my love. I just missed you and my wolf and I needed you" she sat down putting his head in her lap.

" I miss you too! I'm so lonely without you in our bed. I'm not sure I want to do this anymore if this is how it's going to be Colin. " she looked at him with sad eyes. " you don't even get to feel the baby moving or come to visit. our first ultrasound is coming up and I don't even know if you can come." Emma started to let tears slip down her cheeks. Colin reached up kissing her lips and wiping them away.

" I will be there from now on every single night and every appointment. I won't leave your side." he kissed Emma again trying to reassure her.

" what about the council? they won't let me be your queen if I don't do what they tell me." Colin smiled at her.

" the council already made me king. I get to chose my queen. besides, " he looked at Emma coyly. " they can not legally deny you the title that is already rightfully yours."

" it feels like they have designed our schedules to keep us apart."

" no more. from now on we are together and you are the queen even if they don't want that. you are the rightfully given queen." he sat up and helped Emma off the ground. " Come on!" Emma followed Colin into the woods until they came to a clearing. they sat at the waters edge while Colin held Emma. they watched the sun go down in each other's arms. " you are my home. nothing else will ever matter, just you and our pup. my calm in the storm." Emma smiled placing a kiss on his lips.

" the ultrasound is tomorrow morning. I'm hoping you get what you want. "

" what I want?" Emma shook her head, " all I want is a healthy baby with the love of my life. I don't care if we have a boy or a girl I just want this family with you." Emma's heart was filled with joy at Colin's words. " I guess I wouldn't mind having a little girl that looked exactly like the most beautiful woman I have ever met. my little princess."

" what would you want to name her?"

' Emmalith, " Colin looked down. " after her beautiful mother Emma. " he shrugged as Emma smiled. " I wouldn't be opposed to a boy either. if you would allow his name would be Cameron. only if you agree. I feel like I'm trying to take over."

Emma smiled brightly. " I love both of those names. we stick with E names for girls and C names for boys!! we can have an army of kids!" Emma said jokingly.

" how many do you want? I would love as many as you would allow." Colin looked at her longingly wishing she wanted more.

" well I guess I never thought of it." they both gazed out onto the water as the moonlight had been dancing on the water. " at least four I think. I know that's a lot but I want a large family. I want everything that comes with that."

Emma stuck her hand out to the woman who ignored it like Emma was beneath her. " on top of all of that , " Emma was clearly annoyed and growing angry. " I am his wife and the mother of his child." Emma let go of his hand and pushed past Rhaelynn. Rhaelynn looked like she was about to explode.

as Colin tried to follow Emma Rhaelynn grabbed his arm p****d about the news he was married. " what did she mean she is your wife colin?"

" we got married a while ago. she is my wife." he shrugged.

" yup and now if you will excuse me," he put his hand on the door opening it seeing Emma standing there he smiled, " I am about to go see what my wife and I are having. " are we in trouble?" Emma looked at Colin with concern.

" no, and even if we were I would marry you and only you as many times as it took for you to understand that no one else ever matters or will ever matter." he grabbed her hand in his as they made their way to find out what they were having.

Emma laid on the table in the room waiting for the dr. she had changed into the gown with nervous excitement. Colin held her hand with one hand and rubbed her stomach with the other talking lovingly to her belly. " I need you to be good to your mommy little peanut. you have been kicking a lot keeping her up. tonight let's let her sleep. we can't wait to see you." Emma smiled as she ran her fingers through his hair. she couldn't believe that any day they would have a baby. it could be any day now since wolf pregnancy went faster than normal human pregnancy. she was increasingly excited. since they talked last night she was hopeful Colin would be around more. she needed him. she was feeling lonely without him. " I can feel your anxiety Emma." she had forgotten how their feelings were intertwined.

" I just don't want to do this alone. " she said it low almost a whisper Colin could barely hear.

" I have been a terrible husband. I haven't been there and I'm sorry. " he rested his head on her stomach. " I promise Emma I won't leave you alone again. from now on our business is together no matter how anyone likes it. we do things together and as a family. we will go to the council together. " he kissed her belly then placed a kiss on her lips as the dr came in.

smiling at the couple the dr sat in her chair and turned on the monitor beside them. " are we ready to do this guys?" Emma and Colin shook their heads. " this gel will be cold." she squeezed gel onto Emma's stomach and took out a wand moving it around on her stomach. soon the room was filled with thumping. the dr looked at Emma and Colin and said, " now that is your babies strong heart beat. see this here," she pointed to the screen. " this is a head amd a torso and... " she trailed off. " are we finding out what we are having today?"

"yes!" Emma and colin said together enthusiastically.

" well this right her is a boy, " she looked up at the screen seeing something she didn't see before. " oh my!" Colin looked at her in confusion. " and this little blob behind your boy is a girl" Emma and Colin stared at the screen in disbelief.

" we have two babies? " Colin was in clear shock. his face expressionless. he looked at Emma who looked scared. " Emma! we are having a boy and a girl!!! twins!" he got excited wrapping his arms around her. she let out a sigh of relief.

" so by the position and everything I am guessing a week maybe two we will be seeing these two cuties making their entrance into the world. congratulations guys. " she smiled as she wiped Emma up and motioned for her to get dressed.

" colin? are you ok? " He grinned down at her as he helped her sit up on the bed.

" this is amazing! you have no clue how happy I am Emma!!! we are having a boy and a girl!!! Emmalyth and Cameron. are you ok?" she nodded enthusiastically her breathing calming down. " honey, I want kids with you. these babies came from our love. you and me. nothing can stop my excitement. come on " he helped her get dressed. " we need to meet with the council. you are getting your title back." he smiled as he helped her out of the room.
