Chapter Four

1013 Words
I was staring into the eyes of an irritated Alpha.  Tall, dark and handsome Anthony was and… half naked.  No shirt just his underwear shorts.  My eyes fell to his tight chest and jagged stomach.  He was muscle on muscle.  I followed a ‘V-shaped’ crevice that led to the top band of his dangerously low shorts.      Lower my eyes went.     Looking at his massive thigh muscles caused me to salivate.  I breathed in and I smelled the delicious scent that I now knew belonged to him the warm sugary goodness mixed with the smell of leather swirled up my nose and racked my brain. “What the f**k are you doing here?!” he growled low.     My mind snapped like a rubber band back into formation for a moment for me to ask myself the same question.  What the f**k was I doing here?  I tried to come up with a good reason but I found my brain and words lacking.  I looked away from him for a moment because something else distracted me.     Anthony was standing with his door half open, covering most the opening with his giant body but I caught a glimpse into his bedroom.  It was dark inside there with just a glow of a lamp but I saw he was not alone.      A man got off the bed and walked into what I assumed was a bathroom.  The man was naked.  I could make out this blonde man’s toned back and his butt as he moved.      Feeling like I saw something I wasn’t meant to see, my eyes flew back to Anthony’s and I forced myself to speak. “I want you to reconsider my request to transfer to your pack.  Please,” I spoke the words fast.     If looks could kill I would’ve been dead where I stood.  Anthony just glared at me shooting literal daggers at me. “Did you break into my house?” “Uh, uhm.  It was unlocked,” I said.     I was internally smacking myself in the head.  I realized how stupid my idea was. “Leave, now!” he gritted his teeth and began to close his door.     I stopped it from closing with my foot. “Alpha Anthony, please.  I know my Alpha, Alpha Mark called you.  He told me that he told you I would be an asset to your pack.  Why can’t I join your pack?” I laid all of my emotion out there.  It was all I could do.  I usually would never beg but I was desperate to stay here.  I feared what returning to my old pack would do to me.     I could tell I f****d up when I said his name.  His eyes grew darker and his nostrils flared.      He swung the door the rest of the way open and launched out of the room.  I scrambled back to the wall behind me as far as a I could.  Now he was standing over me and he was radiating with rage.  He took a breath. “This way,” he growled.     I followed him.  My face was on fire.  Hell, my whole body was on fire.  I was still trying to catch my breath.  Although it probably didn’t matter at this point because I was surely being led to a holding cell, the stockade, my death, something terrible I thought.       Down the hall I followed quickly.     He opened the door that he stopped at and entered a room.  I walked in fast trying to keep up.  It was like a small library inside.  There were walls of bookshelves, glass cabinets, in the corner was a small bar, and I even saw a large safe in the back.  Why did he bring me in such a nice room to splatter my blood?  “Close the door,” he ordered.     I turned around and stepped back to the door to close it.  I felt him creep up on me.  I was too scared to turn around.  My body was starting to tremble.      It was time to, however.  Time to suck it up and face the consequences of my choices.  I pivoted in my spot.  I looked up to meet Alpha Anthony’s gaze.  His jaw was clenched tight in frustration.  I noticed he was sweating and breathing hard too.  “What is this?” I asked.     I knew he had to know what I meant.  This temperature rising between us.  The air depriving my lungs of oxygen the closer we got to each other.  And his alluring scent.     Earlier in the gym for a split second I thought it was the mate-pull.  But from what I know about it, the closer you are to your mate, the more content and calm you feel.  This was the opposite.  My body was confused.  It wanted to run far away but my mind wanted me to stay rooted in place.  My inner wolf was unsure.     He stood leaning over me with one hand by my head pressed on the back of the door.  He was staring at me.  Like a monster consuming me with his eyes.  “Can’t you feel it?  The heat?  I can’t catch my breath,” I gasped.     His eyes dropped from my eyes to my lips and quickly back up to my eyes.  I saw a slight change in his expression.  His eyes swirled into a lighter color.      My heart was hammering against my chest.      Then, he abruptly kissed me.  His lips crushed against my own.      An icy wind blew through my mouth and cleared the flames inside my body.  With the fire extinguished, I kissed him back.  His right hand came up to my neck and his thumb stroked my jaw as he kissed me longer.  I felt his tongue enter my mouth and scrape against my teeth.  After a few more seconds he pulled back.       Now I had an answer to the burning question but with it, many more questions were raised.
