Chapter 5: Rejection

Two Months After the Summit

I had spent enough time away from home traveling around Ravena getting our Bears who fled during the war to come home as our territory had expanded. Some were still skeptical and I could understand hiding from King Roman's rule, a lot of the territories were still neutral, and really didn't care about Roman, only did business with him if they had to keep the peace in Ravena. Roman was not a well-liked King, only those who liked him worshiped him and my brother and I hated him for personal reasons. I was back in my apartment and I heard a knock, I was sitting before going over to see my parents and Rowe, I missed them and I knew Barron would be busy so I was going to talk to him later and fill him in on my latest findings. However, I smelled Barron behind the door with a strange scent so I opened it and he was smiling.

I hugged him as he said, "Welcome back, Bubba, we missed you here," I saw Polly peeking around the door and running in hugging me. We sat down and talked for a while but my brother's scent was mixed in with something that had me on edge. I saw his love bites and knew he had Lark so I asked him about her, he said, "She is on her way here, you will get to meet her before family dinner tonight, mom is expecting you so no excuses." I got up and went to the bedroom to get their gifts and this amazing scene hit my nose, it was soft lavender mixed in with summer rain and I turned to see who it was. I walked out to see my mate kissing my brother and my brother returned the kiss, he said, "This is the beautiful Lark that I told you about, as you know the Elders are approving her being your Queen," I said, "Nice to meet you," she smiled saying, "My pleasure," not making eye contact.

She knew who I was but she was avoiding me, she said, "I just stop by, will see you guys, later," and she ran outside quickly, Barron said, "Odd, let me check on her," and ran out behind her. As the day went on, I got settled in and Zion was uneasy that our mate was blocking us from contacting her so we could talk, then I felt it, the most excruciating pain and I fell to my knees in the bedroom, I asked, "What's happening, Zion?" He said, "She is being intimate with our brother and I closed my eyes laying on the floor and taking the pain in until they were finished, I closed my eyes and fell asleep. I woke up to Nolix waking me up saying, "Hey, you okay, they rest sent me to check on you, they are waiting for dinner," I didn't want to go but I wasn't going to let my parents down, I changed quickly and head over to what I would assume is the dinner from hell.

The dinner went pretty well, Lark avoided being near me and clung to my brother, my brother was smitten with her but you could tell he was hiding something, I went over asking him for a second, we went outside and I said, "I thought you were waiting for your mate?" He smiled and told me to follow him, we walked out to the childhood swing and he said, "I was putting on a show for everyone, I found my mate and we had been meeting in one of my private villas, she used a magic crystal to get there." I said, "You are talking in the past tense about what happened," he said, "A story for another time," I saw he had sad eyes and he said, "I need to speak with the Elders but not now, you are back and we should celebrate after dinner." I hugged him smelling Lark all over him and I backed away saying, "Not to be nosey, but did you sleep with Lark earlier?" He looked at me and said, "Yes, but it's not what you think, I didn't cheat on my mate, we rejected each other yesterday," I stopped him, understanding the situation and I walked him back inside. I wondered who would have rejected Barron but he promised to fill me in once everything got sorted.

The Day Before

I was on the bed after making love to Sophie, she was in the bathroom and came out saying, "I am beginning to show, we need to say something and I knew she was right. I told her, "You will be mated to me anyway, it doesn't matter what your father thinks," she asked, "What about your people, they hardly mate outside their race, will they accept a Queen who is a Lycan?" I said, "Yes, they will, now don't worry about those things," she kissed me and I rested my hand on her growing baby bump listening to my baby's heartbeat and couldn't wait to see him or her. I kissed her again and this time she was on top of me riding my c**k, she threw her head back as her moans echoed in the room, I was going to mark her soon and I couldn't wait. Her round breasts looked so succulent as I squeezed them, I felt her juices run down my balls into the bed and I closed my eyes letting my beautiful mate enjoy what she had told me plenty of times that was hers.

I had fallen madly in love with Sophie, it couldn't compare to my love for Lark, I was choosing my mate hands down. Lark was what the Elders wanted and they were getting their way if I hadn't met Sophia, there was no way I was going to mate Lark now. Sophia was bent over the edge of the bed and I was thrusting in and out of her, she grabbed the sheets begging me not to stop, our lovemaking kept getting more intense the more time we spent with each other. I was making sure not to be too rough since she is with my child but I was also going to please her. I felt my release approaching and her body started shaking yelling, "I m cuming, Barron, yesss," we both c*m together, we lay on the bed laughing with each other when the door busted open and I had guns pointed at me as Sophie covered herself and asked, "What is this?"

Roman walked in with Lily and said, "Leave," meaning his men, except Beta Axel who had the gun to my head and I was holding my beast back because of my mate. Lily handed her a robe and she put it on, Lily said, "Sophie, you're pregnant," with a shocked face and she said, "Yes, Mother, he is my fated mate," Roman looked at her and said, "That is an abomination," I said, "My child is no abomination," he slapped me, Zion was ready, damn the consequences. I broke free knocking Axel out and jumping on Roman as the guards busted through the door, I killed them and was on Roman again until I was tazed using a tazer and a witch chanted a spell to make me kneel. Roman got up wiping his mouth of blood and said," I always wanted a way to kill you and now I will publicly execute you for killing the King's Guards, violating a Princess, and harming a King."

More men handcuffed me when Sophia said, "Stop, he didn't violate me, that is a lie and I will make sure everyone knows it, I would do whatever you ask if you spare him, you can banish him not to come back here but please, I am begging you." Lily said, "Roman, this has gone far enough, we can talk about this," he said, "Shut up, Lily, I told you you were too soft on the kids and now we have a w***e for a daughter," I growled again. Lily slapped him and said, "Don't you dare call our daughter that," he had men try to take Lily out of the room but she refused to move. I said, "Sophie don't, he is the devil and you shouldn't make deals with him, he always goes back on his word," he said, "Shut up, you savage," as I was gun butted by Axel. I felt the blood on my head and I will remember that as I looked at the smirk on Axel's face.

Roman said, "You will reject him, mate Alpha Seth, and I will spare you mate's life," she looked at me and said, "You have my word," my heart was already breaking, the son-of-a-b***h was going to do this. Roman said, "You will get rid of the baby," Lily said, "She is too far gone, you will kill her," he said, "Fine, she will have the baby but when it is born, give it to the savage," he turns to Sophie saying, "You will have public a wedding and show how much you love Seth or I will end Barron and his family including your baby." He cut her hand and then he said, "This is a blood oath to do as I say," as the witch blessed it, Sophie cried, "Yes, Father," then she turned around and said, "Sorry, Barron, I will always love you," holding her baby bump and I nodded for her to go ahead.

"I, Princess Sophie of Dartmouth Kingdom, reject you, Barron Fitzgerald, King of the Bears as my mate and King, forever severing this bond," she screamed in pain, I accepted to spare her the pain and save my baby. I was sent home and I would be able to collect my baby when it was born, I screamed in anger as I canceled the meeting with the Elders telling them, "My mate and I rejected each other." They were going to meet her at the end of the week so she could move here and someone foiled our plans, I will eventually find out who. I ran through the town in bear form, no one approached me, they felt the anger rolling off me, I stayed there in the meadow by the lake until my sister linked me saying, "Clarke is back."

The Next Day

The Elders met with me and I explained the situation, they were shocked, even my brother and Polly, no one had an idea I met my mate and I felt anger from Polly. They went ahead and approved Lark since Sophia would be mating someone else, I sent Nolix to find out who would have known about our mating and he was away for now. Polly barged into my office yelling, "You were mated to Sophie, that bastard daughter, and said nothing," I said, "Rowe knows and I thought that he would have told you," she yelled, "Don't put this on him but of course he told me, my son tells me everything." I smiled saying, "Of course, he did, I should have known that he would," she smiled saying, "Sorry that Roman was such an asshole, and I was waiting for you to say something."

I sighed and said, "I love her, Polly, and now, I will be raising our child alone," she said, "No, you won't, you have me and Clark, just like you guys did for me, that cub would be loved, you know this," I hugged her. She said, "So, when are we going to go get her," I said, "You know I can't do that, it would cause a war, she is a Princess and not just any Princess, Roman's daughter." However, Polly offered to dig up any information we could find on this Alpha Seth to ensure that Sophie would have a good life. A sacrifice she made for our survival and my bears and our child will know about her whether Roman likes it or not.
