The Gala
"He gave me the date for our next meeting!" Sofia excitedly announced to Jennifer over the phone.
"Glad to hear that!"
"What should I wear this time? Maybe it's time to listen to you, Jen." She was now seeking advice from Jennifer and her cousin was delighted to hear it from Sofia.
"I know right! This time will come that you will ask me." Sofia can imagine Jennifer sticking out her tongue to her.
"I want to win his approval and based on his personality; I need some magic for it to work." She sighed.
"Of course, I can help you! You know that I will always help you. First, I need to know where you are meeting him, so you can dress appropriately." Jennifer said and Sofia answered her based on the venue Lucas sent her.
"Wait, you told me it will happen two days from now? And in this place?" Jennifer asked seems not believing her.
"Yes, I’m sure that's what he texted. Is there something wrong?" Sofia asked her with worry.
"Nothing is wrong, but I find it weird because... Wait let me double-check." And Sofia heard the other line seems to scan something.
"What is it?"
"The Gala! The charity gala that I am organizing!" Jennifer said with a confirmation.
"What do you mean? I'm not getting it!"
"Did Lucas mention something other than a simple text of the date and the venue?" Jennifer asked her again.
"Nothing more, just that." She wanted to smack Jen's head now if she is just in her front. She's frustrating her.
"Silly! You are attending a charity gala that will be attended by rich women in their forties and up, meaning you will wear something elegant! Actually, the theme is white this year." Jennifer started blabbering before Sofia can react.
"Wait! Can you please, slow down?" She complained.
"Lucas was inviting you to the gala, simple as that! The fact that he was not telling you about it, means something!" Jennifer and her speculation.
Sofia was thinking the same.
"The fact that I know it. Then, I must do something that will shock him! Don't you think, Jen?"
"I'm excited! See you later, let’s have our girls' bonding then and shop some dress for the gala?" They then both ended the call.
Sofia can perfect her look but what is important to her is how she can present her proposal to best.
The days passed by in a blur and Sofia is now preparing herself for the gala with Jennifer's help. Jennifer was her overall stylist including her makeup and the dress she will wear.
"I'm done!" Jennifer announced as she finished dubbing the lip gloss on her lips.
"No mirror yet! It's time to wear your dress." Jen said excitedly.
Her dress was from Paris. It was designed by Jennifer's friend back when she was in the country during her college. She doesn't have any idea what it looks like. She was praying it is not something provocative and that it fits based on her taste.
"Trust me, it's classy and not trashy." She winked at her cousin, who has no idea on how she was transformed to the highest level with just her makeup on, how much more with her dress?
Sofia was used to expensive and tailored dress but the dress in her hands amazed her. She was in awe just seeing the dress, she felt no confident wearing it. It is too beautiful for her.
Jennifer was right, it's classy. The dress fits her taste as well. She is excited to look at herself in the mirror because her evil cousin doesn't let her peeked even just for a second.
Jennifer was in awe when she saw Sofia.
"Oh my god, look at you! You are a princess without a crown." She complimented Sofia.
"Jennifer, what have you done to me?" Sofia can't believe her reflection.
She saw her finest look for the first time. She turned around and can't help herself but giggle.
"You always have that; you just hide it. Someday, you will learn how to use it. Ah no, it will start tonight. You can win him!"
Sofia remembers her mission for tonight and she instantly felt nervous.
"Let's go, it is getting late!"
"Wait," Sofia grabbed her proposal and internally prayed for tonight.

Lucas Grand is already in the venue, he was waiting for her. He can easily spot her in this event remembering how she looked the last time. He intentionally did not inform her about the event because he was up to something fun.
But what makes her so long? The gala will about to start any minute from now and his mom will arrive soon. He wanted her to be on his side when it all happens and that she can start her proposal during the main event.
"Ladies and gentlemen..." The emcee announced that signals the start of the event.
He scanned the area for a woman in a nun suit without a veil, but he sees no one. All he sees were women in their elegant gowns. Seconds later, someone called his name on the opposite side.
"Mr. Grand," Sofia called him in a very nice way.
Lucas looked at the person and almost gasped in surprise. He was literally blinded by her, not only because of the light in her back like she was an eternal being but mostly because of her beauty he has seen for the first time.
She is a goddess in that white dress!
"Mr. Grand?" She called him again and silently smiled seeing his expression
I got you, Lucas, you can't deny it! She said triumphantly.
"Ms. Miller," he said trying to control his hormones.
"You did not tell me about this gala! Good thing I learned about it." She said, trying to instill some guilt to Lucas.
"Did I not?"
You can deny all you want but you will pay for it! She gritted secretly and smiled sweetly to him.
What's wrong with this woman? I won't last night if she keeps on smiling like this.
"About the proposal," she started. Of course, it is her main reason for tonight.
"We can talk that later, Ms. Miller. We have a long day for the discussion." He cut her off.
"Alright, Mr. Grand." She replied.
Okay, just don't plan something not good. And she inched closer to him. She remembered one of Jen's advice.
Fuck! I better listen to her proposal now, instead of this. Lucas was not comfortable with how close they are to each other.
He can't help himself to study her whole being. He finds her so sexy; she has the curves that he did not imagine she had.
Fuck! f**k! Stop.
