The Visit and reconsideration... Sofia was outside the Grand building looking up the towering building. She has a mission to talk to him today and so, she went inside to the building before she will be frozen from the chilly weather outside. She walked with ease towards the busy area where the guests fall in line. "Sofia Miller." Sofia gave her name to the receptionist. The woman immediately searched her name on the computer but see nothing her name in an appointment with Lucas. "I'm sorry Miss Sofia but your name is not on the list. You need to set an appointment first with his secretary if you wanted to talk with the CEO." The receptionist said and dismissed her presence as she assisted the next guest in line. "He knows me, and it won't be long," she said with a smile to the busy woman. She has the high hope to talk to him. "I'm sorry, but we are strictly following orders here and I'm afraid you won't see Mr. Grand today, Miss Sofia." The woman said without giving her a glance as she was busy facing on her monitor screen. Sofia was even early, and she can't believe she won't be meeting him. She can call him or email him, but she opted to talk to him personally so she can assure of their next meeting, but it’s not possible with their policy. How come she did not ask him last night? She is about to talk to the receptionist once more when Lucas passed by, she did not waste her opportunity right then. "Hey, Mr. Grand!" She almost shouted, loud enough that not only Lucas can hear her. The people were instantly looking at the source, at her. She did not mind them and went straight where Lucas stand. Of course, he remembered her. "About last night," she started, making the people in their surroundings to react and whispers. "Look, Ms. Miller. This is not the right place to talk about it." Lucas tried to clear things, but his statement was only adding more whispers in the area. Lucas knew exactly what they were thinking about the situation, and he has the urge to clear things, but Sofia is unstoppable. "But Mr. Grand, when is the time that we can meet again? I don't have the chance to ask you from last night." She insisted. "Here, take it and contact me." Lucas handed his calling card and left her in instant. He did not want to be their meal story early in the morning. Sofia left the company wondering what's the weird stares all about that she got. She just shook her head, not minding them. Good thing she had his personal contact now. She smiled staring at his calling card, then she contacted him immediately, but it went straight to his voicemail. Sofia decided to leave him a message. "Hi, Mr. Grand! This is Sofia Miller, I' calling to confirm when our next meeting is. I would be glad if you..." and she sneezed. She then realized that he was still outside of his building and the chilly air was the reason for her sneezing. "Oh, I'm sorry about that! Uhm, yeah that's it. Bye." Not that she can stop in the middle of her message, so she ended it nicely. Lucas heard it and almost laugh about it. "So unwomanly," he commented under his breath and kept his phone away from him to entertain his father. "So, Lucas how was your meeting with the Miller?" The late Grand asks his son, who is in his office comfortably sitting. "Uhm..." Honestly, he can't say something about it because nothing happens. "I get it, a piece of advice son. Think about it again, we have nothing to lose so as the Miller. We are both successful alone in our own fields. Think about the partnership, your successful hotels, and the successful restaurants in one. What will the new venture and the new idea bring to our company?" His father chimed in his idea. His dad is brilliant, and Lucas just sighed because this is the only decision that they think on differently. He believes, they can stand alone and that their hotels will not need anything or anyone. Thinking about the partnership seems like an arranged marriage for him, not that he was to be arranged marriage but their company to another company and the feeling is the same for him. "I'll reconsider it, dad." He said just to pacify his dad. He won't stop bugging him even if he is already managing the company. Not that he was not trusted, but his father is very determined and positive about the partnership. "By the way, your mother invited you to her charity gala." His dad announced before he leaves his office. "Again? Can I just not go?" He directly complained because it is not his thing. Why can't he just donate for her mother's charity? It is easier that way than participating in an event he is not even enjoying. "Come on, just support your mother, it's different this time." His dad said the same line in every event. "You said that year ago but it's all boring!" He is determined to get away this time, but he knew he doesn't have a choice. His father left him with a light tap on his back. “You will make your mother happy, son” His whisper, and he remembered Sofia Miller, she can discuss her proposal to him during the gala. In that way, his day won't be boring instead it will be a productive one. With the thought, he immediately sent her a message for the date leaving the event. Sofia was so glad when she received the text message from him. She did not waste her time and reviewed her proposal again. She has two days to meet him. This time, she will make sure that she will be successful, to have Lucas read their proposal he did not even take a peek from last time. Lastly, to win the Grand. - - -
