AIDEN’S POV
I picked up my phone to answer as soon I saw a call come in
“Hey Mum”
“Aiden, how are you?”
“I’m good, hope you’re good?”
“Yes, I am, so you’re coming too Nick’s place on Saturday?”
“Can I not come?”
“No you can’t miss it, You must be present”
“Why is everyone bent on me being there, not like it’ll make a difference”
“My lovely son Aiden, your presence will make a huge difference, some of us haven’t seen you in a year, we miss you dearly and that’s why you must honor our invitation”
“Fine mum, I’ll be there”
“That’s great, I’ll have to run along my dear”
“Hold on mum” I said before she hung up.
“What is it Aiden?”
“It’s really nothing, but can I come with a friend?”
“Male or female?”
“Female mum”
“Okay, do as you wish, I’ll inform Alicia that you’re coming with someone”
“Okay mum, take care of yourself”
“I will, do take care of yourself too” she said and hung up.
That’s so unlike my mum, she would have asked for full details on who I was bringing to the family dinner but she just said okay, I’m loving this change, I just hope it’d be permanent”
The day of the dinner came, I called a hair stylist, fashion designer and makeup artist over to the house to help Davina get ready for the dinner. I heard the doorbell ring,
“that must be them” I said as I got up to go down stairs, on getting there, I see Davina looking confused
“hey baby girl”
“Aiden what’s going on?”
“I called them over to help you get dressed for my family dinner”
“Aiden isn’t this too much?”
“No, it’s not, everyone there would have their eye on you, so you have to look outstanding”
“Okay, but this is a little uncomfortable”
“please just do It for me”
“Fine”
“Thanks babe, I’ll be upstairs getting dressed” “Okay, I’ll be waiting”
“Okay, call me when you’re ready”
“No problem” she said before I left to continue doing her thing.
I went back to my room, after hanging around for about an hour, I decided to get dressed, I wore a new black tuxedo and black shoes.
I wanted to wait for Davina to call me but I was too impatient, so I decided to go down stairs and meet her.
On getting there and seeing Davina all dressed up left me surprised. The color red really complimented her body. She’s putting in a red body con dress that has it’s slit up to her upper thighs, her blond hair packed into a messy bun, her makeup is more than perfect, I loved every bit of what I’m seeing tonight.
“Aiden”
“Yes baby girl”
“How long have you been standing there?”
“Not quite long”
“Okay, I was even about to call you, but then I saw you standing there and staring at me, hope I’m not overdressed?”
“Hell no!!! You look stunning baby girl” I said and got close and pecked her.
“Thanks Aiden”
“You’re always welcome”
“You look good Aiden” she said as she got closer to adjust my tie.
“I guess our guests already left?”
“Yeah, they just left though”
“Okay, hope we’re good to go?”
“Yes, I’m ready, hope you’re mother is gonna like me?”
“She certainly will”
“You sure?”
“Yeah, even a mad man will love you”
“Is that a compliment?”
“It is whatever you take it as” I said and we giggled.
On getting inside the car with Davina
“Uhm Aiden, tell me a little about your family, I don’t want to go there and not even have an idea of who they are”
“Okay, I have three siblings, an elder sibling and two younger ones, I’m like the middle man”
“Okay, is that all?” She asked breaking the brief silence.
“Well, what else?”
“Their names, are they married?, just a little detail about each of them”
“Why don’t you Google these info, I bet Google will give more details than I will”
“If I wanted to Google about it, then I wouldn’t have asked in the first place, so tell me what I want to hear”
“Well.... Nick is the first, he’s married to Natasha and they have three adorable kids, two boys and a girl, he owns a movie industry”
“Wow, that’s nice”
“Yeah, it is. then there’s me, I don’t need to tell you more about myself cause I guess you already do”
“Yeah, continue”
“Then there’s Alicia and Lucas, both are too busy with their modeling and acting career”
“Wow, you’re surrounded by great and powerful people”
“Well, yeah, there’s also my mum, she’s a celebrity event planner, she’s always traveling in and out of the country, I could count how many times I saw my mum while growing up”
“What of your dad?”
“He’s an actor, also as busy as my mom”
“So who stayed and took care of guys while growing up?”
“We had a nanny, she stayed with us from when we were so little till when we all got to the age to take care of ourselves”
“Wow, so where is she now?”
“She’s with Nick”
“Still as a nanny?”
“Yeah”
“Wow, she didn’t get married or even go back to her family?”
“No she didn’t, she said we’re are her kids and that she didn’t need more”
“Awww, that’s so sweet”
“Nick took her in cause my parents were about to fire her cause her services were no longer needed” “Ohh”
“We still visit her from time to time, cause she really played a great role in raising us”
“That’s cool”
“Yeah” “Aiden the car just stopped”
“We’re already at Nick’s place”
“Oh, okay” I got down and helped Davina come down
“Thanks”
“You’re welcome”
On getting into the house I’m welcomed with hugs from Nick and Beverly’s kids
“Uncle Aiden is here” they screamed as they ran towards me. It’s being a very long time since I saw them and I must admit I missed them all.
“Where are others?” I asked
“They’re inside” Nick’s eldest son Liam answered.
“Okay thanks” I said rubbing his head. I led Davina inside leaving the kids to continue playing.
“Davina you look nervous” I whispered to her ears. “Is it so obvious?” She asked looking so tensed.
“Yes baby girl, just relax, my family don’t bite and I’m here with you”
“Okay, thanks”
“Aiden!!” My mum called out to me with her hands wide open for a hug
“Hey mum, how have you being?” I asked as we hugged tightly
“Aiden, you’ve lost so much weight, why haven’t you being eating properly? How are you? I’m missed you so much my dear son”
“I’ve missed you too mum” I said hugging her again. Her arms has always been my comfort zone and I missed it.
“By the way mum, meet my girlfriend Davina Dalton, Davina meet my mum”
“Your girlfriend?” Alicia asked looking disgusted
“Hey sis, What’s up” I asked ignoring her initial question.
“Aiden, tell me I heard you wrong, what do you mean by your girlfriend?”
“Davina and I are dating, is there a problem with that?”
“Of course, everything is wrong with it”
“What’s wrong with me dating Davina?
“Everything is wrong Aiden, she’s your f*****g maid dumb ass”
“A maid?” My mum asked shocked
“Not anymore mum”
“What do you mean by not anymore Aiden? I knew you were up to no good when you asked to come with a plus one” she said walking away and Alicia followed suit.
