1525 Words
Seraphina received the delicious bowl of creamy ice cream. The contrast between the hot sizzling of her freshly kissed mouth and the cold ice cream made her lips feel quenched. She took a spoonful and fed some to her husband. He licked the spoon and gave it back to her clean. The waiter came by and filled her wine glass again and gave Blaze another double malt scotch. He was feeling quite drunk by this time. Sera had not consumed as much wine as him. He had been drinking hard liquor. She took out some money from her black purse with the chain strap and paid the check. Blaze was still fumbling for his wallet. Seraphina drew his attention back to her as she slid out of the booth pulling her dress down over her exposed skin. She helped Blaze to stand up. He was giggling now like a schoolboy. He was unsteady as she walked him out of the door of the restaurant. He leaned on her as she directed him down the sidewalk of the Vegas strip. Nobody took notice of them as they were laughing, he wobbled sideways with each step. As they approached their hotel, she helped him onto the elevator. She quietly pushed the up button standing with her arm casually around his arm. Once the door dinged and slid open, she moved quickly turning to him- she pushed him back up against the elevator wall as the door was slowly closing. She gave him a sloppy open mouth kiss. He pulled her close grabbing her hips to him, her dress rose up over her buttocks. He nuzzled her neck and bit her there, suckling her skin. He held on to her so he wouldn't fall down. When the elevator stopped the jolt of the elevator jerking caused her to step away from him, he groped the air- looking for her. His eyes were slits. The doors opened up. She put one of her arms around his waist and the other one of her arms was wrapped around his shoulders. Slowly they made their way back to the room. Stopping as they got to their doorway, he leaned against the wall for support and closed his eyes. He said, "Im' so sorry, I might have drunk a little too much tonight." She kissed his clean shaven -drunk face, removing the key card from her black purse. She opened the door. She walked him in and removed his jacket as well as his shoes. She unzipped his pants and pulled them down. He was in his boxer shorts now. She opened the bed and sat him down there, then lifted his legs onto the bed. He put one arm over his face and held it covering his eyes. "The room won't stop spinning." She quickly grabbed the garbage can and set it next to him on the floor. She removed her dress in one fell swoop and stood before him naked. He didn't even open one eye to peek at her. She gave a little dance- shaking the bed and he moaned,"make it stop." She frowned but decided that he needed to sleep it off. She went and put on her pink flannel pajamas. She reached up and removed the tight bun from her hair, she shook out her hair. She removed her glasses as well now. She saw that her hair curled softly around her face. She looked in the mirror and thought her lips looked swollen from all of their kissing. She didn't mind and thought that she actually looked pretty good. Too bad Blazey had to miss it all. She put on her socks and padded down the hall to the vending machine. This time remembering to take her key card with her. When she got to the vending machine she put in enough money to get a soft drink and a bag of chips. As she was getting ready to leave with her goodies, she walked by a slightly open hotel room door. She heard a woman crying. She felt the sound pulling on her heart strings. She looked inside the room and saw a young black haired woman sitting on the king sized bed. She was alone, head in her hands, sobbing. Seraphina asked her if she was okay. The woman, who called herself Diane, shook her head and said," No, I am not okay! My lousy boyfriend just cheated on me with a hooker. We came here to sin city for a wedding, tonight was the bachelor party." When she realized that he had never made it back to the room, she looked at her phone to check for new messages. There was an alert about a strange charge to her bank account. It was a charge for over $400. -paid to a Vegas strip LLC company. When she looked up the company name on the internet, it showed that it was from a local cat house as they like to call it. The Kit Kat men's club. He had yet to come back to her and she was sobbing uncontrollably. She was a young girl probably In her early 20s - a little bit younger than Sera. Sera walked over to her and sat on the bed. She felt compelled to put her arm around the girl. She let her sob on her shoulder. Sera told her that she was not leaving until she stopped all of this crying. The girl laughed, sniffling and said, "you'll be here all night." Sera started to get the tendrils of a spirit. This time it made her feel very short of breath. She held onto her chest and tried to catch her breath. Diane looked at her, seeing her distress, she asked her if she was okay. "Should I call 911?" Sera said, "It's not really anything to do with my body. I'm a bit psychic," she said between breaths. "I feel chest pain, possibly a heart thingy." She asked the young girl if she knew someone with a J name, maybe Jodie, Judy, or Jessie. Diane said she wasn't sure. Sera said," Do you know anyone that might have died of a heart attack, someone with a J name?" Diane looked at her with her mouth open and nodded her head. She said, "that was my grandma, Jessie, she died 6 months ago. She actually raised me since the time I was 5 years old. I can't believe that you are feeling her. Can you tell me, is she saying anything to you?" Sera nodded and closed her eyes. She said, "Annie, she wants you to know that she is sorry that you had to watch her pass." Diane nodded, "She called me Annie, short for Dianey." Sera told her that she got the feeling that her grandmother had left too soon. She had unfinished business still. Diane nodded understanding as her grandmother had left her a house full of her items. She was still going through boxes. She told Diane that her grandmother Jessie wanted to let her know something. " Annie, look under the locket. I see a portrait, a big picture on one wall. The house is a mess, but the picture is still there on the wall. Something to do with a locket." Sera grabbed her neck and rubbed it where a locket would be. "Sorry this is not clear to me." Diane nodded and understood exactly what was being said her. "My grandmother had a picture of herself, her mother, and my mother-three generations. In the picture they were all wearing matching lockets." She still had her grandmother's. locket, she held it up for Sera to see. Sera held the locked in one hand running it through her fingers. She rubbed her temple with her other hand. She told her, "there is something for you behind that picture, something very important for you to have. It will change your whole life. I think you should listen to your grandmother Jessie, she said that she loves you very much and wants you to go now, don't waste another minute on this loser. (sera added that last part in herself) Diane started to laugh, she no longer cried. She realized that her grandmother was still with her and that she would just pack everything up and head back to her grandmother's house now and go look under that portrait. She blew her nose, then they exchanged phone numbers. "I will call you when I find out what is behind the portrait." She kissed Sera on the cheek. Sera smiled, said goodbye and padded back down the hallway in her socks and pajamas to her and Blaze's room. She sat outside of the door a minute before going inside. She picked up her phone and dialed Landen. "Hey I'm not off work yet."he said. "Real quick then, did you get my package?" she asked. He laughed. "I don't get it where would I need to ever wear this?" She said, "especially wear it at the radio station, trust me please." He said he did and that he had to go, the commercial was ending.
