Sera had a restless nights sleep she ate too much at the buffet the night before. She was also worried about Blaze and wondered if he was able to handle what was coming.
She had dreamed about a large statue, a man with his arms open wide, embracing the whole city. She woke up knowing it was Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil. She'd had a dream about Blaze getting mixed up with some drug traffickers.
She was concerned that she wouldn't be able to help him out of the mess that he would get himself into. Just like she did the last time, he might be dead if she hadn't gotten there in time. Either way, she knew that she had to stay very close to him in order to protect him.
She slowly opened her eyes and pulled the covers back and got out of bed. She went to go get dressed and to take a hot shower. She saw him still sleeping on her way out of the shower.
Blaze was lying still and sawing logs over in his bed. She got dressed, watching him to see if stired. She put on her shoes and snuck downstairs to get a coffee. She was ready to start her day.
She took $20. out of her purse and decided to try the casino games one more time. She thought that maybe she understood how to play a little bit more today.
She walked into the casino with a hot mocha espresso and sat down at a game with some Buffalos on it. On her first spin she got a full row of the Buffalos and she won a $150. She jumped up-and-down. She was having such a good time that she didn't notice that there was a man coming up behind her.
He was dressed in black jeans and a white t-shirt. He had tatoos on his neck and arms.
A large gold chain on his neck. He was handsome in a sleezy, punk rocker kind of way. He smelled like booze and cigarettes.
He complimented her on her big win and offered to buy her a drink. She held up her coffee cup and said, "no thanks, I already got one." He was insistent on talking to her. She started to lose the money that she had won.
He insisted on giving her some more money so that she could continue. She politely declined. She started to cash out her money and walk away.
He followed her towards the door as she walked out and hurried down the street to get away from him.
She got the feeling that he was stalking her. She turned around and took a peek and sure enough, he was coming up slowly behind her.
Sera ran right into the homeless man that she had given the money to the night before, she knocked his money cup over. As she bent down to pick up the loose change, he began to warn her about the dangers of being a young lady alone on these streets.
She was in a conversation with him, when the man from the casino approached her and asked her if he could take a few photographs of her- because she looked like a model. He told her he would give her 500 bucks.
The homeless man told him, "Hey, back off she ain't for sale."
Sera patted his hand and gave him the rest of her cash.
She moved to walk away when the man took out a small gun and held it to the homeless man's head. " Get lost!" The homeless man looked at Sera and put his hands up, he backed away now.
Seraphina was all alone with a man pointing the gun at her now. She was not afraid though, because she had a feeling that Blaze was on his way.
Spirit was with her now. She smiled at the man, she felt sorry for him now, knowing that he might be dead soon. Blaze would take care of everything. The man grabbed her by her elbow and walked her over to an alley way and told her to take off her clothes.
She smiled at him, gritting her teeth. She began to undress slowly and removed her sweater. She looked at her watch. Where is Blaze? She took off her shoes and the man waved the gun at her and told her, "hurry up, I ain't got all day." She nodded and took off her shirt next, slowly pulling it over her head.
The man was salivating now. Sera was standing there in her lacy white bra when all the sudden the man fell to the floor in a heap right in front of her. Blaze was standing behind him with the butt of his gun in the air after he had hit the guy in the head. He pulled Sera close to him and helped her cover herself up. He had never been more scared in all his life. She hugged him and said that she knew he was coming and that she wasn't afraid at all. She put her sweater on and her shoes and she kicked the man in the groin. He moaned. She took the gun from him and handed it to Blaze. Casino security came running around the corner with the homeless guy leading the charge. The local police arrived and picked up the man. Blaze showed the cops his credentials and they let him go. Sera was happy to see her husband for the first time since her marriage. She still held a grudge against him for the way that he had married her in that little chapel -when it was supposed to be a big fancy wedding. She leaned over and kissed the homeless man's beard. She had a message for him and whispered in his ear. His eyes teared up. He nodded. She squeezed his hands. Blaze took her back to the hotel. "What did you say to him?" She shrugged, "Who? the s*x trafficker? I told him to take a hike."
"No, the homeless guy," he said.
She sat down and quietly said, "His daughter was on the other side. Maya was her name, Mary, or Mirna, some type of M name."
She shook her hair out. "She told me to tell him that she missed him too, everyday and that she would always be with him." Blaze nodded. He had believed everything now. He heard her calling him in a dream. Something woke him up and told him to go fast, go find her. Then it led him to her. It was just like a movie. He couldn't believe she was standing right where he was instructed to go. He believed her now.
