36 Sera takes calls

Sera listened to the music as she waited for Diane and Landen to return to their desks. Landen wanted to talk to Diane privately.

" Diane, I want to ask Sera to start a new segment. I want to ask her to do 10 minutes of Sera reading callers. I know she said that she is trying to stop talking to spirit's. Can you talk to her?"

Diane bit her lip."She had such a bad experience in Brazil, I don't think we should ask her to do this. What if we just have her take a few calls and see what happens?"

" Yas! Girl, you are brilliant!" He said.

When they returned to the office, they sat down and were acting weird. "What is going on with you two?" She felt a little left out. She was the third wheel.

Landen shrugged." Diane is a little hoarse this morning, we think you could help with callers today, what do you think?"

Sera shrank back."I don't know, I'm not good at the quick conversations, I don't think I would be good at that."

Landen said," We are about to find out girl, he we go!"

You are listening to Landen, and Diane in the morning. We are touring across Ireland. Today's special guest is our very own Finny. Let's take a few calls to get to know my very best friend, no offense to my girl Diane ...

The phone lines lit up.

" Hey, this is Finny. What can Landen play, uh for you?"

The woman laughed. "I been listnin to yer show since ya first landed. Finny, you are the funniest one, aren't ya!"

Sera smiled," I don't mean to be. I'm just Sera, I mean Finny."

The woman giggled. "I want to listen to a favorite of me ma's, The Carpenter's, close to me."

Sera felt it then. Her ma was coming through. "Angela was her name did you say?" asked Sera. She rubbed her temples.

The woman was shocked.

"Didn't say, did I. Yes that was me real ma's name. She died giving birth to me. I was talking about me step ma don't you know, and there ya go making me all weepy."

Sera was quiet. "She wanted you very much. She loved you. She wanted you to know she is with you. When you keep seeing all of those, Hmm. I think that she is showing me are white angels?"

The woman was really crying now. "Ya must be fey, I been seeing white angels all me life, even in the clouds."

Sera smiled. "Know that your mother is with you. She sees that you have been worried about your own baby. It's your first isn't it? She said that everything will be fine."

The woman was speechless for a moment. "Ah, yes. Thankyou, how did you know that?"

Landen jumped in. Next caller please.

" Good morning, what do you want Landen to play for you?" She was still ending the connection to the first caller's mother.

" I would like Landen to play some Maroon five. I love your voice Finny." He purred like a kitten.

She heard him flirting with her.

" Gosh, thanks. I'm actually married, so be real careful there my man." She said.

The man went on. "If I were your husband I would stick my"....

Landen cut the male caller off.

He looked at Sera, " Sorry." he giggled.

Sera mouthed," One more."

" This is Finny with Landen and Diane in the morning. Go ahead caller."

" Finny, I was wondering, could ya contact me da, I lost him last year. I am so sad. I just need to know if he is okay."

Sera said," I will try."

She opened her mind up. "I see a man coming through. Frances, Frank, something with an F name. He said he wants you to know....I can't say that."

The woman said," Please."

Sera continued."This man is not in a good place. He wants to hurt you with his words. I have ended the connection. Your father he..I'm sorry he is in a bad place. You need to let him go."

The woman cried." My father, he abused me every day of me life. He was a drunk. I was hoping that he was free in the next life. What you said, it's true isn't it? He is in a bad place. Thankyou, I feel free now. I can let him go. I won't waste any more time on him."

Sera was feeling sad for the woman. She said,"There is a man that is coming into your life. He is the one. Don't ice him out. I promise you will know him when he comes, it will be so natural."

The woman thanked Sera and hung up.

The phone lines went crazy.

Landen returned to the talking segment of his show. All of the sudden Diane got her voice back. They joked about visiting Ireland and the pubs trying to out do themselves with bigger and bigger pints. They continued their happy banter.

Sera got up and walked outside into the fresh air. She put on her hood and took a walk. She was feeling drained.

Landen looked out the window. He saw her walking in the drizzling rain.

He realized that it was a mistake to trick her into taking calls. He felt bad. He would tell her that she didn't have to take calls anymore.

Sera went to the coffee shop. She sat down and ordered a black coffee. She heard the patrons talking about Finny.

" Can you believe that nonsense. It's the devils work I tell ya." they muttered.

Sera took her coffee to go. She walked down a crooked road. She saw a dog coming her way. It looked skinny. She dropped a few crumbs to it. It ate readily. It followed her on her walk.

She ended up at her room. She stepped inside and took her shoes off. Sera layed down for just a minute. When she woke up, her head was splitting. She saw it was dark now. She slept all evening. She heard Landen and Diane making travel plans.

Landen said they were going to county Limerick. Sera thought he sounded morose when he said it.

She walked down stairs and saw the dog sitting by the fire.

" What time is it?" She said, rubbing her short hair.

They both stood up and went to her. "It's dinner time, you must be starving," Diane said.

Landen saw how tired she looked he picked her up and sat down with her on his lap.

"Listen honey, I am sorry for tricking you into taking calls. I didn't know what it would do to you. Please forgive me?"He said snuggling her neck.

Sera touched his head.

"Landen, I want to distance myself from my gift. I just can't seem to stop. When spirit calls me, it's like the phone won't stop ringing. I am who I am."

He nodded."We love who you are. We will respect any decision you make."

Diane put her hand on Sera's shoulder.

Sera started to cry. "What would I do without you too?"

Her phone rang then. She ran upstairs to get it. "Daddy, where are you?"She asked.

He told her he was in Scotland. He was with them the first few weeks in Ireland, then he traveled on to Scotland.

" Oh, wonderful. Are you talking to mom everyday?" she asked.

" Well, talk to her yourself." He laughed.

Carol Haven spoke to her girl then. "The boys are meeting us in Londen we will all be together with you there."

" Oh, I haven't seen Jack, Henry or Nial for ages. Yes, we should all meet up when we stop in Londen. I'm so glad you are near mother. I miss you so much."

" Seraphina, Blaze is looking for his wife. He tore up the divorce papers. He does love you." Carol said.

Seraphina held back a tear.

" I don't know about that. We got married in a fever. It wasn't real. I am an adult, I know it was all a dream.

I thought it was real. It felt real. I can't talk about it, I will start crying. Love you mama. See you soon!"

Sera walked downstairs she announced to Diane and Landen.

" Who is so important in County Limerick?" She asked. Then turned her head to the side, thinking.

" Who is Jeremiah McCallum?"She looked at them both.

Landen pursed his lips. "Guess having a best friend who is psychic doesn't allow for many secrets."

He turned to Diane. " I found out father. His name is Jeremiah McCallum. He resides in County Limerick."

Diane sucked in her breath.

"Damn!"
