Chapter 9 keeping Sera safe

Seraphina had felt Blaze's eyes upon her as she had made her way down the hallway in only a towel. She was embarrassed about her long relaxing bath. She had become acutely aware of how little she had on. She sank back to her room. She was not feeling too good after drinking all of that liquor and not eating any food throughout the day. Sera sat down hard on the futon bed and tried to put her clothes on. She was unable to navigate her foot going into her jeans so she just threw on a sundress and sauntered back out to the living room in just her dress and barefeet to talk to Blaze. She was anxious to talk to somebody as she hadn't spoken to anybody all day. He seemed to be on his phone, talking to someone about a trip. She turned around quickly, her sun dress twirled around her. Blaze saw a flash of her thighs as she did so. She wasn't wearing any underwear. He rubbed his forehead and frowned. A man can only take so much. She went into the kitchen and searched the cupboards for some type of food, she spilled a glass of water on the counter as she pulled herself up onto the counter top. She slipped back and fell in the water. Blaze was behind her, phone to his ear. He deftly caught her with an oomph, before she could get hurt. He held her for a moment before sliding her down his firm body to the floor. He was still talking to someone on the phone, he said," I get all of the details from you later. Uh, what about a family member coming with me, yes, I see. Ok, that's not a problem then." he hung up the phone. She was smiling up at him. "Im starving!" He told her they were going out. "Pack your bags, we're heading to the airport, we'll stop along the way." She turned her head to the side and questioned him,"Wait where to? I mean is this a work thingy then?" He nodded. He turned to go pack."Oh, and in the future, you might want to lock the bathroom door, someone could walk right in on you when you are" .....he didn't finish. He just walked down the hall. Sera was mortified. Her face turned red. She went after him. "Wait, are you saying that you walked in on me, what did you see?" He turned away from her. "Hurry we got a flight to catch, we're going to Vegas baby." She jumped up and down. "Yes, finally something exciting to do! Wait why, is it a special assignment?" He nodded,"You could say that." She dressed in only a few minutes, putting on some panties and sweater. She didn't have much to choose from, since Blaze was the one who packed her bags originally when he had brought her here. Sera called her mom and told her that she was going on a secret mission with Blaze. Blaze was on his phone as well- talking to Doctor Silver Haven.

They caught the last flight and were on there way. Sera ate some nuts on the plane. They were no longer serving food on the late flight. She put her head back on her chair and fell asleep. She woke up with her head on Blaze's shoulder. He was looking at her as she slept. Sera yawned and stretched showing a bit of her cleavage. "Did we make it?" He nodded and prepared to get off of the plane. They took a shuttle to the hotel. Sera was getting her second wind now. They stayed at the West gate hotel. The room was small. But it had new carpet and the two queen beds were comfy. He started to unpack. "Oh, is this your room then?" She picked up her bag to go to find her room. He grabbed her wrist. He put her bag down on the second bed, telling her, "Safer for us to stay together." She nodded slowly. She had never stayed in a hotel with a man before. She trusted Blaze, she had known him forever and he was a cop after all. She went to unpack. He was on the phone again. He said," Okay I see, make sure there are at least flowers there for her." Sera wanted to get some dinner. Blaze told her to get dressed and he would take her out. Blaze had made plans to keep her safe.

Blaze drove to the small chapel on the strip near the hotel. Sera asked him if this place served burgers. He shook his head, no. He ushered her inside. The man at the front of the room was wearing a suit, he stifled a yawn as they approach. He smiled and greeted them. Blaze nodded and the man began. " Dearly beloved, we are gathered her today to join this man and woman into matrimony.... Sera looked around her, she saw a nice elderly woman sitting on a bench. She waved at her and the woman motioned for her to turn around and pay attention. Blaze placed a ring on her finger. It was a plane gold band. He kissed her mouth gently when prompted. Her ears weren't understanding what was going on here. The man in the suit said," she has to say she agrees." Blaze said,"Sera say you do agree." She was jet lagged. It took her a minute to realize that it was her wedding day. She swallowed and took a step back. She had dreamed of this day over and over. It wasn't like her dream at all. She put her hand to here ear to feel for the diamond earrings that he had gifted her in her dreams. Nothing there. He turned to her, he whispered," trust me." She nodded and said," yes I do." The man took that to mean she agreed to the wedding and quickly stamped the license as the woman rushed forward to sign as the witness. Blaze held the pen to her hand and positioned it over the correct spot. "Sign here please," he urged her, "Trust me." She scribbled her name. "On behalf of the "Mine forever" chapel, I now pronounce you husband and wife, go a head kiss her good this time." He claimed her mouth with his firey kiss.
