31 Charlie Nuevo

Charlie had been a minister for the past 10 years. He was inclined to help those around him. Of the two brothers. Leo was more like Loki. He craved danger and mischief. When Leo had run off to join the military in the United states, Charlie had stayed and tended to the small community around him.

Charlie had never been married. He never found the right woman for him. He saw this blond angel laying in his bed now.

" Thank you Lord for answering my prayers." He whispered. He had been waiting for a sign. He asked God to send him an angel.

Charlie took Dorinda aside.

" Who is she, why is she so weak?"He wondered.

Dorinda explained that Manuelo had been drugging her and sent her spiraling down with his doctors help. "She is a bruxa. She talks to spirit world." Dorinda said.

Charlie frowned. " An exorcism is on store then?" He asked.

Dorinda nodded. " I think the evil came into her body. It may be lingering there."

Sera's eyes rolled back as if on cue just at that time. " I need Blaze. Please! My husband needs me. He's not safe. Take me back."

She tried to sit up. Her hair hung back behind her in a blond curtain.

Charlie nodded. " Yes I see it. She is possessed."

He prepared her for an exorcism. He put a circle if salt around the bed. He brought in his holy candle and his Bible.

" Dorinda, please my hand. Take it." He held out his strong hand.

He proceeded to read from the Bible and lit the candle.

Sera heard them chanting over her now. She felt the familiar stir if spirit. "I can't right now, I'm too weak." She said.

Dorinda quieted. She stepped back in fear. The necklace on Sera's neck glowed white.

Charlie saw it too. He turned his head to the side studying Sera's reaction. She was calm. She smiled and opened her eyes.

" Charlie my love. Come to me. She sat up exposing her breasts as she rose. Come taste my flesh. Come to Eva. Come my lover." He was shocked. It was Eva, she was here with him. He felt her presence. His lover who died. She had drowned in a freak accident. She was here. He went to Sera.

Dorinda held him back. "Do not touch her. She will lose the connection." she warned. He couldn't help himself he pulled her to him and kissed her lips passionately. He slanted his warm mouth over hers, tasting only his lost girlfriend. He loved her so much.

Leo returned and saw a half naked Sera being kissed by his only brother. He quickly pried him off of Sera as Charlie began to grope her full breasts.

" Brother, please. Your life is in danger. Her husband, if he finds out. He will murder you. Brother please."

Charlie came to his senses. He looked into this angels eyes, as he did he saw the fear of what he was doing to her there. She winced and shrank back into the bed, covering herself. She was crying.

Leo pulled Sera into his arms.

" My brother, he thought you were his lost love, Eva. She came through you, your necklace was doing the thing, the light up thingy. Charlie was kissing her, not you. Do not fear him. He was desperate for her. Not you my flower."

Sera closed her eyes. She took some deep breaths. " Leo. Don't touch me." She said coldly.

He moved away stung. He had tried to comfort her.

Dorinda told the men to leave.

She prepared a bath for Sera. To calm her down.

Sera slipped down into the hot water. She was feeling the warmth the her bones. She ached for Blaze. It was so hard for her to be away from him for so long.

" Dorinda, I have to go back and get my husband. Please take me back. I miss him so much."

Dorinda shook her head.

" Manuelo sent for the pain doctor. He will kill you just to get inside of your head. Blaze has Helen there. She is ruthless. She can protect him."

Sera nodded. She felt her skin crawl. She felt that man fondling her breasts. She felt ashamed like she had betrayed Blaze some how. She wanted to go home.

Charlie came to her after the bath. " I am sorry that I touched you, I kissed you. In my mind I only saw Eva my lover. I wanted to marry her. She died out there in the ocean. She was such a strong swimmer. I don't know how she died, I became a minister after that, I looked for an answer and knew that I was meant to preach. I still love her though."

Sera felt pity for him now, not fear. "Charlie," she touched her temples.

" Eva died from a rogue wave that overtook her. It pulled her under. Rip tide she called it. She tried to swim out of it, it pulled her under."

Sera sat back. Her head was splitting. " She loved you her whole life. Even when you were children she said, she sees you, she watches you looking for her in the ocean every night, she said to tell you she is free." Sera closed her eyes.

"The yellow bird that flew down at your window and left you a seed there, know that it was Eva telling you she is good, she is at peace."

Charlie remembered that bird. He recalled how it stayed at his window for days after he had lost Eva. He took Sera's hand.

" I believe I know the bird you are talking about. I felt her then."

Sera asked him not to touch her. She moved her hand away.

" Please, I can't let anyone touch me except my husband. If I do, I start to lose the thread of light that I tied to him. It connects us together." She whispered," I tied it to him when we got married. I keep him with me this way. That's how he is able to find me too. If others get in the way of the light, he can't feel me."

She sighed. " I know you don't believe me. No one ever does."

Charlie believed her. He was now ready to protect her with his life. He was sure she wasn't obsessed. She was too pure for that. He would try hard to give her back to her husband when he came for her. And he would come for her.

Manuelo....

The guards threw Blaze across the floor in front of Manuelo. He kicked Blaze in the side. "Tell me where the girl is, where did you take her?"

Blaze frowned. " What girl? Who is she so I can get her back for you, I can find her. I'm very good at tracking. Is she a local then?"

Helen entered the room then.

" Manuelo, the men tell me that Oscar's men killed your guard?

How did they get in?" She took Blaze's hand and pulled him up.

Manuelo smiled. " Helen, your new man can tell you, since he is the one who killed him."

Helen laughed." Impossible, he was with me all night. She threw a bag of chemicals at his feet. We were on a supply run."

He turned and raised his hand.

" Find the girl Blaze. Do not return until you do so." He walked into the kitchen and yelled for his breakfast.

Helen looked around and saw that Manuelo had 15 men there with him. She punched Blaze in the face. He fell back down to the floor. " Do not fail in this mission Blaze. I will kill you!"

She rubbed her sore fist. That guy had a hard face.

She quickly went back to her tent. Blaze came in sporting a red mark on his cheek.

He packed his bag. " I'll see you then. I can't come back without her, I can't bring her to him. I'm done Helen."

She rubbed her chin. "Maybe, maybe not. Manuelo believes Oscar is now openly attacking his men. He will retaliate. I think this will be all out war.

Manuelo needs to have some vengeance. Let me go talk to the enemy and stir the pot on Oscar's end.

I have intel at Oscar's compound. You go Blaze. Get your wife killed off.

Make her die a violent death. If he believes that Oscar's men killed her, you can set fire to this whole operation. It will implode. War will breakout." She smiled.

Blaze grinned and rubbed his face. " Helen, I owe you a beer."

She blushed. " Blaze kiss her real good for me. It's been a long time since a man looked at me like you look at your wife."

Blaze set off then. He got into the jeep and drove off to go find his girl, he would kill her when he saw her. She would need to die to save her life.
