"Because you will focus your attention on your wife, the new Luna of this pack and you will have children with her.' I argued.
"But isn't that the reason why she is going to be my wife?' he teased.
"I don't like it, Lake, don't get married.'
"Why don't you just agree you want me all to yourself.' he grinned and his piercing green eyes sparkled before me as he hovered over me and rubbed my eyes with both hands.
"That's what I'm saying but don't make it sound so weird. I don't want you to get married and that's it.'
"But the clan wants me to…"
"I don't want you to, Lake. I'm also your responsibility and not only the people…" he hugged me and ruffled through my hair.
"Hey, Lake, you are ruining my hair.' I muttered.
He laughed as he pulled away from me. "I promise not to get married anymore. Are you happy now?'
"YES.' I screamed and hugged him so tightly.
Lake was only for me.
I'm his little kitty. I don't want some random woman stealing the attention away from me because I know once he gets married, he will forget about me and I don't want it.
That's my greatest fear. Call me a selfish and narcissistic brat. I don't care because Lake is my only family.
The only one I have.
For the next two days, I saw Aiden entering my home with a smile on his face.
I stood up from my seat and confronted him as soon as I saw him.
"So you decided to see me after you ignored me for days huh.'
"Nope! I didn't ignore you for days. I'm so sorry about that. I came to visit you and see your uncle's new Luna. I'm sorry I didn't reply to your text messages and calls but my parents sent me over with some gifts and then, I decided to use that opportunity to see you as well, since my phone is being damaged. I will tell you the story behind my absence later.'
"What?" I stood up from my seat. "New Luna.'
That's what my ears were interested in.
"Yes. Haven't you heard he is getting married in two weeks time and the Alpha, his fiancee is from a high status…" before he could finish his statement, I ran inside the duplex and went straight to his room but he was nowhere to be found.
I then went to the living room and saw Alpha Killian getting up as soon as he saw me.
"What is it? You look stressed, Aurora.'
"Is it true?' I panted as my heart began getting so fast.
"What is the truth? I don't understand you.'
"That he is getting married. I just heard from my boy…I mean, my friend told me that Lake has found a new Luna."
"Yes, he has found a new Luna." He confirmed. "Is anything the matter?' He questioned.
"What is this? Why is everyone forcing him to get married? He's a grown ass Alpha…"
"And the leader of the pack, Aurora.' Alpha Killian finished as he stepped forward to me. "Lake is an Alpha and can get married however he likes.'
"But he is not interested in getting married. You guys are the ones pushing him into this marriage stuff. He is living fine and enjoying his best life. Why do you want to cage him?'
"No one is caging him, Aurora. Stop acting like a kid and besides you don't know anything about marriage, so don't speak of it."
'I shouldn't speak of it?'
"Yes, you should be the one happy Lake had found someone to be his companion. He will need a Luna by his side. You don't expect him to die at old age, do you? He's a man who stayed single for years just to take care of you. He sacrificed everything to raise you so you can have a proper life. Now, you've grown up, shouldn't you be happy for him instead of stopping him from being happy. Do you know how it feels to be alone for years because of you? Aurora, you should be celebrating for him, advising him to get married, not stopping him. It's beginning to seem to me like you are selfish."
"I'm not selfish.'
"Then, let him get married. Allow him to enjoy his life, Aurora. Do not throw tantrums at him and persuade him to give up this marriage because I will be so furious at you if such a thing should happen.' he explained with a scoff.
"What are you trying to say to me? Are you trying to say I'm the reason he doesn't want to get married, Alpha Killian. Lake has been with me for years, he always wanted only me and no one else because you guys and the clan are forcing him to get married, that's why he changed his mind."
"Aurora, you don't know anything about the clan but yourself. You don't know Lake so well, so I will assume you are still a child, but don't do something stupid because you don't want him to move on. Let him be with the one who he loves and who loves him. Someday you are going to find your mate and you will leave him. You don't always get things your way, that's not how life goes. He raised and spoiled you so much, you forgot humanity. I feel so sorry for you. Don't be selfish.' he scoffed again and walked out on me.
What was up with him? Why the hell is he mad at me?
I didn't do anything wrong to deserve this right?
I clenched my fist with my eyes welling up. I don't mean to be selfish but we've always been together for years and why does he have to go when he has me?
I don't get it. We are always together and why does he have to bring another woman in where we make our home?
That day, I waited at the dining table since he wasn't going to be around at the time and waited for him to come back.
I knew he will be working and will be home late again.
Alpha Killian is Lake's best friend and why he talked to me in such a manner is what I'm trying so hard to understand.
I waited and looked at the white wall designed clock and it was 12 midnight.
I was feeling quite sleepy but I didn't want to go to bed yet.
I was light asleep when I heard the door opening.
I jerked my head up from the table and looked at the time.
It was just six in the morning and my back, my neck was killing me as I got up from the chair and walked over to him.
