I blinked up at Adrian expectantly..waiting for his answer as I watched his face slowly morph into confusion.
"Kennedy? You mean the Kennedy I went to high school with?" He asked, making me nod as I felt my stomach tying into knots. Wait..did he know more than one Kennedy or something?!
"The one that came to my uncle Jack's last week.." I added for good measure, making him stare into my eyes deeply before shaking his head no.
"Millie..I haven't left my apartment in a week let alone the damn bed..so no, I haven't seen her. But why? What's wrong?" Adrian asked worriedly, his palms sliding up my arms as he searched my face carefully. I couldn't help but feel my heart ache from his words..he really must've been suffering just as bad as me.
