I ran over to my Aunt before flinging myself into her arms.
"There's my beautiful niece. Oh god, you are just as short as your mom..how does that work?" She teased, making me narrow my eyes at her as I glanced over at Mom, seeing her eyes roll.
Mckenzie Prescott had been my mom's best friend since they were kids. She still lives in California around the same area we used to and would come to the house a few times a year. But after mom got sick, that was when she really started to show up. Aunty Mack would be there every weekend, helping Dad make dinner and stuff while Mom rested.
