1000 Words
"Do you think he's alive? Or he'll make it alive?" Lance asked Grant while sitting on the ground, resting their bodies and recovering from their wounds. They were safely escorted back to the main camp where the knights are stationed. The healers immediately used their healing magic on them. "I don't really know, I don't want to make assumptions." Grant answered, ever since he left his village Kit and Lance were the first comrades he had, more than comrades, he considered them as friends. Seeing Kit sacrifice his own life for their safety proved even though Kit was a weak kid, he has a strong heart and would not hesitate to save those close to him. It was still dark, the sun hasn't risen up. The stars on the sky kept twinkling and the moon was slowly drifting to its course. "Food?" Someone walked towards Lance and Grant, carrying some food. It was Earnest, the who fought with them during the fight against the wolves, after escaping the wolves and being safe from the wolves he felt relief but somehow felt a little guilty. Kit sacrificed himself for them so that they can escape. He would've done the same, but he felt fear in dying, he hasn't been able to do the things he always dreamed about. He hasn't confessed to Charlotte yet.  He and Charlotte were childhood friends, one day Charlotte went missing, of course as a child aspiring to be a Hero he came to find Charlotte. What he saw was someone saving Charlotte from a beast, the way Charlotte looked at that kid made him feel powerless. The kid was wounded on the chest, but somehow was able to repel the unknown beast. Ever since that day he only focused on getting strong no matter what, for Charlotte.  "Thanks." Lance took the food which was bread and meat, it was food from the Knight's cook. It was distributed among the knights, but an order from Cromwell said that to take care of the injured trainees. Naturally they'll give them food, especially Earnest and Lance are both nobles, that's why the cook has to make something fitting for a noble's taste. Since Lance isn't a noble who looks down on everyone because he's a noble, he eats the food someone gave him. His father taught him that, in the end of the day whenever you're a noble or a commoner, you're still a human being. The cold wind blew over their bodies and felt chills, they looked up the sky and watched as the moon gets covered by the clouds. The light from the sky disappeared and only the light from the campfire remains, the crackle of the fire was the only sounds because some of the knights were sleeping and some are guarding. "Kit, please be safe." Lance said looked up the sky as if he wished it on the stars. ************************** "Come here, Hero." That was what Kit heard inside his head, a distance voice yet so near. He looked everywhere to see if something was near him, but there was no one instead an empty space. He looked at the pedestal where the blue blinking light was coming from. He started to walk to that blue light carefully, he wasn't sure of his surroundings that's why he's taking one step at a time. As he got closer, the blinking light started to blink faster and now it's pulsating, he can see how the light gets brighter and brighter as he comes close. After one final step he reached the little staircase towards the pedestal. He walked up the stars and looked at the blue light. He wasn't entirely sure what was it, he carefully examined the unknown device in front him him. "What kind of magical tool is this?" Kit pondered and pondered, until he touches the blue device. He picked it up from where it's placed and examined it further while holding it. The light faded and he can see a cube like device with unknown markings to it and an insignia in the middle. He didn't know where the insignia came from as it's unknown to him. Then after a brief moment the light began to lit up again, brighter and brighter. Kit covered his eyes with his arms as the device was getting brighter and brighter. Then the light vanished again. but this time the device disappeared from his hands, unknown where is it, Kit looked around and saw nothing.  "ARGH!" Then he felt his body ache for a moment, his headache was so bad the he wanted to take of his head and bury it somewhere else. He crumbled on the floor, he never had a headache like this before and a new experience to him. But the pain itself is unbearable that he had to roll around the ground. His consciousness slowly drifted away because of the intense pain he felt. His eyes slowly closed as he fell asleep on that ground. *************************** "Hmph!" Cromwell shrugged his shoulder after killing one of the night wolves. He was leading a search party all by himself and was killing beasts along the way. "Damn kid, where are ya?" Cromwell was looking for Kit but has no luck, he's been searching and has never found him. He's just brandishing his sword and killing anyone who attacks him.  He's slashing his sword left to right since earlier. But now the night wolves caught up to him and was glaring at Cromwell. "So, who's gonna fight his old dog." One of the wolves attached Cromwell on the side, Cromwell just dodged and and slashed the wolf back. He kept slashing his opponents, the wolves were left on the ground as they were lifeless or bleeding to death. Cromwell navigated the entirely black forest, killing beasts that was on his way. Cromwell reached where the the beasts reside. Then after a while of walking, he saw someone on the ground. An unconscious kid just laying on the ground. "KIt? Cromwell expressed his surprise and confused as he saw Kit just lying and so relaxed on his sleep.
