14: Leveling System

"What the hell?!" Kit's blurry vision came back, his eyes focused on the box in front of him, he tried to touched it but his hands got through it. He can see his name on the box in front of him

That is what was written on the mysterious panel in front of Kit, he's still dumbfounded on what was the meaning of the panel in front of him. 

"Kit! Pay attention!" The knight in charge of them shouted, the panel disappered in front of him and he fixed his posture.

"First of all, congratulations on being selected as the new knights of Camelot! You lot will be protecting this very kingdom until your last breath!" The Knight shouted and everyone saluted and responded with a loud "Yes sir!" 

Then Cromwell got out of the headquarters to look at the new recruits, he found Kit at the back of the row, Grant was in the middle, Lance was also at the last row since he's the last one to arrive.

"You lads are looking brave today. every morning we'll have a routine of training! If you think you'll be free of the physical training, think again! You'll be defending this very kingdom and you'll need to be strong. Understood?!" Cromwell shouted, everyone responded with a loud "Yes, Captain!" 

"Good, brighten up those faces, we'll get straight to training!" Cromwell said 

Hours has passed and the morning routine is finished, the knights are on break, and will be receiving their duties after.

"Maaaaaaan, I'm exhausted" Lance said while chugging on his water container, he and Kit were very exhausted, Grant didn't even broke a sweat. No wonder his body is that buffed. The three are sitting under the tree shade on the training camp

"I didn't think we'll made it here." Lance said, he looked at the sky and smiled

"I thought we were done for on that forest, I thought i was gonna die" Lance added, he's been having nightmares about those wolves. Good thing he's coping well

"Yeah, I thought we'll never see sunlight, and we'll be eaten at that forest." Grant said, since he's the strongest guy on the group. Getting injured like that would mean they're gonna die. Good thing Earnest was there to fight off and Kit sacrificed himself

Grant didn't know what to do at that time, he thought of sacrificing himself and making a run for it holding the herb that can attract the wolves. Bad thing was, Kit took the herb and ran off with it, luring the wolves out

Since then, Grant blamed himself for being weak and possibly losing his new friend. But what Kit said back at Cromwell's office shined a new light to him.

"We knights are the defenders of the kingdom. If I can't even save my comrade, how would I save the people?" That was what Kit said that moved him and he now aims to be a knight that can protect the people.

Kit was too quiet, looking at the open space in front of him, Lance thought it was because of trauma that he's been like that since earlier. He'd constantly look at the open space and like he's reading something.

Kit's analyzing the panel, there are a few  features he found. First is the shop which sells various items and potions. The next is a storage which is like a spatial rings in the legends,he's been looking at the other features. He found an unknown tab which was to be unlocked at Level 30.

"Hey Kit! Are you still there?" Lance said while poking Kit with a stick, Kit was startled and took the stick from Lance and poked him too.

"You've been like that since morning, are you sure you're alright?" Lance asked, if it was about the forest accident, then maybe he can help him but Kit keeps refusing his offer.

"Are you sure you don't need my help?" Lance asked

"No, It's alright. I'm already fine." Kit said with a dry smile and laughed a bit

"You sure you don't want some herbs?" Grant said, Kit and Lance laughed a bit and continued taking to each other.

"You'll need to exterminate some of the goblins that camped near the kingdom walls, since they're a small group you'll be able to take them on. The adventurers guild was out of people to get rid of those goblins, that's why I need to ask you three" Cromwell said as he's looking at some documents in his desk then he looked at the three.

"The camp is near the southern bridge, the camp has about 5 goblins according to my scouts. They've been killing the beasts there which will be bad for our hunters." Cromwell said

"Yes Captain!" The three answered at the same time

"Good, now go while the sun is shining;" Cromwell said, the three saluted and left Cromwell's office

The three was too excited that they've been talking about how they'll kill the goblins when they see one, of course that's Lance who's boasting. Kit could only laugh and Grant is still keeping a straight face.

They took a public carriage that will take them to the southern gates. Since Camelot is big kingdom, walking towards the southern gate will take them more time.

The three readied their equipment and got ready.

"There it is." The three was scouting behind a rock, the goblin camp is indeed small with only 5 of them there, roasting some meat, 2 of them are sleeping, 2 of them are awake, they're like guarding. 

"Okay here's the plan, someone will distract the goblins, and someone will go around and kill the ones who's sleeping." Kit said while drawing his plan on the ground using twigs he found

"I'll distract them." Grant said, "Since I have the biggest body here, sneaking will not do anything." Grant said with a straight face and a serious tone.

"Alright, me and Lance will sneak in." Kit said and they both sneaked around the rocks, since the camp is surrounded by rocks It's easier to sneak.

They arrived at the camp, the two goblins were sleeping on the ground, Kit looked at them, they're green with a pointy nose and drooling faces. They smell like they haven't showered since they were born, which is true in some way.

Kit readied his steel sword which was given out to every knight who doesn't have a sword, It's a sword with the Camelot Knight's emblem.

Kit signaled Grant and he stood up and threw a rock on the awake goblin, the goblin was surprised and looked at Grant, the two goblins rushed to attack Grant using their small wooden clubs but they were too small so they were just kicked by Grant

Kit slits the Goblins neck which bleeds out, It opened its eyes for a bit and its eyes turned white. The other goblin was also killed by Lance

And all of the sudden, the panel came up on Kit's face and a notice was there

"Leveled... up?" Kit's face was dumbfounded when he saw the level up notification.
