15: Daily Quests

"W-What?" Kit was still dumbfounded, the panel is still floating in front of him, and saying [You have leveled up by 1]. He's still figuring out what to do with that

Lance stood up after slitting the throat of the sleeping goblin and slashed his sword towards the goblin who's about to hit him with a wooden club. Grant took care of the  two goblins who's about to attack him. With his strength, killing two goblins is easy. The goblins were no more, Lance collected the goblin ear as proof, he sliced the ear off the goblin and put it on a leather pouch

Kit is looking at the panel where his level is currently at 2. He earned 5 skill points which was to be allocated in the skill tab, he opened the skill tab by tapping on the skills, the skill panel enlarges and takes the whole space of the system.

He can clearly see the numbers of his skills, it's all in 10. He tapped the plus sign on the left side of the strength, the points added up. He added all the points into his Strength. His strength now is at 15 which he didn't know how that works. He's still wondering about it, since he didn't know what to do with it, he left at that.

Lance called him and said they were going back to the headquarters to report to Cromwell about the goblin camp. He stood up from where he's sitting and followed the two.

They got back to the headquarters, they were greeted by the guards on the front door of the headquarters, they came in and went straight to Cromwell's office. Cromwell is still checking up on some documents when they came back.

The three stood up in front of Cromwell and saluted, Cromwell saluted back and Lance begins reporting

"The goblin camp is no more, Captain." Lance said with confidence

"Good work. You must be tired, take a break first and I'll give you three another task to accomplish today." Cromwell said

"We don't need a break Captain! We'll take on the task!" Lance said with his confidence skyrocketing, seems like he's all fired up.

"You're rather energetic today aren't ya? Alright, I need you three to patrol the Marketplace, some thieves are making their moves lately on the market stalls, stealing what they can, I want you three to patrol and report any unusual activities." Cromwell asked them

"Yes Captain!" The three shouted in complete confidence and saluted.

"Alright, now go." Cromwell saluted back and the three leaves  his office

The three arrived at the marketplace, the marketplace is the most visited place by the people, merchants from within and outside the kingdom gather there to sell their wares. 

Since this is where the goods are located, thieves are also scattered everywhere there, the stalls are often stole from are stalls that sells valuables like accessories that has gold in it and weapons that can be sold at a high price.

There's one group of thieves that are excellent in stealing and not getting caught. The Rats, or what the people call them since they always escape through the underground tunnels of Camelot. They haven't been caught, not one of them are caught so that proves a challenging opponents to the knights

"We'll split up." Lance said and he took a path where most people go to, Grant followed some suspicious men on the western part of the market, Kit roamed the eastern part where there are less people and suspicious men are easily spotted on.

The marketplace is bustling as ever, there are too many people buying foodstuffs are things they don't even need. Lance headed to where the food stalls are located, Grant tailed some suspicious men but those men are just box carriers and they carried boxes from the carts to the stalls.

Kit was on the eastern part, not much people are there. There are some stalls that sells cheap accessories and some are selling grilled food, Kit continued to spot suspicious events that would endanger the people.

Hours has passed and there are no suspicious events happened, the sun was almost down and people are going home.

"Maybe I should go and find the two-" Before walking away someone screamed 'thief' out of nowhere, the stall that sells cheap accessories was stolen from, a man wearing a hood stole a box and was running straight to Kit without realizing, Kit rammed the thief with his body, the thief fell down and rolled, hitting a stall.

The thief dropped the box he was carrying, Kit felt his strength just knocked down the thief which was pretty interesting in his part, he found the system useful after all. The lady who's in her mid 30's walked towards Kit and saw Kit retrieving the box, Kit gave the box to the lady

"Oh my, you retrieved my box from that thief, are you a knight by any chance?" The lady asked while hugging the box Kit gave her.

Kit answered her question before going to the unconscious thief, seems like he hit his head on the metal part of the stall.

Kit saw an insignia on the ground that has a rat face in it. He only thought of one group with that insignia, The Rats. Kit immediately apprehended the thief but the thief woke up and took out a smoke bomb from his pouch

"You'll never catch us!" The thief throws the smoke bomb to the ground causing it to explode and smokescreen scattered all over the area.

When the smoke dispersed, the thief was gone but he left the insignia on the floor which is an evidence to help capture the group.

The people around the market who hasn't left yet was looking at them, but after that they left also.

"Thank you, Mr. Knight! I'm Leana! You can come to my stall if you need anything!" The lady said and left in a hurry carrying the box.

Seems like the strength he allocated earlier helped him a little, seems like the system isn't fake and he felt happy about it. The night is going close, so Kit went to find Lance and Grant so that they can go back to the headquarters.

"I have apprehended some molester on the marketplace." Grant said, he earlier caught someone touch a lady's buttocks which he grabbed the guy's arms. The guy tried to flee but with Grant's strength, that was impossible. The guy has no choice but to surrender to the knights.

"I've spotted no unusual activities while patrolling;" Lance said with a full stomach, that was that he did back at the stalls.

"I've encountered one of The Rats..." Kit said, Cromwell looked at him and got serious

"Where did you find that guy?" Cromwell said while his eyes were glaring at Kit, Kit felt fear but he kept his composure.

"Yes captain! I have this..." Kit said and took out the insignia he got from the Rat's member and gave it to Cromwell, he immediately felt magic power from the insignia that can track down the Rat's hideout. 

"Good job! You did good, this very evidence can help us track down the group of thieves." Cromwell said before dismissing the three.

"Well, I'm tired. I'm going home, see you guys tomorrow!" Lance said 

"Same with me, I'm going home too." Grant said and he walked where he's usually going to go home.

Kit bid his farewell, he reached his house and went straight to bed. Then the panel suddenly appeared in front of him.
