Chapter 5 Brody

621 Words
Six years later.   There was no sign of the bustling Northern International Airport slowing down. But different from six years ago, Lily Cox was returning to Amsterdam with her precious son, Brody Cox.   “Mommy, Uncle Zachary, hurry up!” A little head popped out from behind the seat of the lounge. The owner of the little head had round and sparkling eyes, bright as the stars as well as brown wavy hair. His skin was smooth and clear. Paired with his light brown pupils, he looked like a mixed blood. Everyone couldn’t help but steal glances at his cuteness.   “Brody, be a good boy. Stay by my side.” Lily Cox wore an amiable expression.   She had a beautiful figure and plump lips, as well as shoulder-length curly hair. Her skin was smoother than snow, and she had identical bright eyes like her son.   “Mommy, I’m not as slow as a turtle like you. Hurry up.” Before boarding, Brody heard that they were returning to his mommy’s hometown to attend his godmother’s engagement ceremony. He was happy and wild like a horse. There was no listening to his mother’s words.   “You naughty boy!”   Zachary King followed behind, carrying bags of all sizes. He smiled at the two’s bantering, feeling warm inside. His smile grew and this captured the hearts of many females in the airport. In turn, the women were also jealous of Lily Cox for her closeness with their adonis.   At the entrance of the airport, Heather Thompson had been waiting, her car parked.   “Godmother! I’m here!” The little box had a great memory. The last time they met was two years ago, but he was able to identify her at first glance.   Hearing the little boy’s shouts, Heather waved at Lily happily.   Without another word, Brody dashed over and gave Heather a full body hug. It felt like they were the mother-son pair who had reunited after many years of separation.   Heather carried Brody and started peppering kisses, making the little one giggle.   Lily Cox was jealous at the two’s interactions. What about her?! She was his mother!   “Pft. Heather, look at him. I’m his mother, yet he’s clinging to you!” Lily pretended to be jealous, causing Zachary to laugh and then rub his nose in an attempt to play it off.   “I didn’t! I love you, mommy! I like godmother the most. Mommy, don’t cry. Otherwise, I’ll be upset!” Brody kissed up and then hugged Lily.   The adults looked at each other and chuckled, seeing the little boy’s attempt to comfort his mother.   “It seems like our Body will be quite busy in the future.” Zachary lamented with feeling and then carried the suitcases to the trunk of the car, assuming his responsibility as a protector for his loved ones.   “Ah! You’ve taught Zachary well. Look at him. He is a young master, yet he’s willing to be at your command. When are you going to marry him?” Heather led the two to the car as she murmured this in Lily’s ear.   Lily looked at Zachary before warning teasingly, “Heather, if you don’t want someone to crash your engagement ceremony, you should behave.”   “Ohhh. It seems like Zachary will be single for a while. Need me to set you up with a blind date?” Heather looked behind them and raised her voice.   “Ah! Godmother, you’re so mean! I can’t believe you were trying to marry my mommy off! I’m going to tell Uncle Zachary.” The little boy poked his head out from the back seat.   “Brody!” Lily and Heather exclaimed at the same time.
