The check-up went well, but almost immediately Geran had to go and do some other things back up at the house. I, on the other hand, decided that a nice slow walk back was a better idea. The weather was perfect. Perfect beach weather! I wonder if vampire's had beaches. I mean.. They don't explode in the sunlight, So I don't see why not.
I laughed at myself as I wandered up the stone driveway... And then I saw him.
He was stood, Watching me. I could see a smile wide across his face as he raised his hand and waved at me.
I didn't know why, but as soon as he did, I ran.
Ran all the way up the drive and jumped into his arms. He instantly picked me up and gave me the biggest hug.
'Miss me?' He asked I could hear the smirk in his voice. I didn't say anything, I just nodded. 'Bless'.
'What are you doing here?' I asked back as he set me down on my feet again. I looked up at him, and instantly felt the familiar feeling of being attracted again.
'Sterling gave me a call, Said someone wanted to talk to me'.
'Sterling?'
'Yeah, Do you know where he is?' I shook my head.
'I saw him before, but I was in a rush so...I thought you didn't like him?' I remembered the night we went out and I was told to stay away from him.
'Well, I don't hate him, Just his family aren't the people you wanna get mixed up in'.
'Are you serious Kane? I LIVE here. I think its too late for that'. He looked down quickly before he looked away completely. 'What's up?'
Sighing loudly, He grabbed my hand and pulled me away from the house.
'Where are we going?'
'We need to talk'.
Eventually, We managed to find somewhere that was private enough to talk to each other without fear of someone hearing or coming and finding us.
'What?'
'Why did you leave?' His question confused me. What was that supposed to mean?
'What?!' I asked again.
'You ran away. Why did you do that?!'
'No! I didn't! Alex sold me. He didn't want me anymore'. I admitted sadly.
'Do you know, or even care what happened to the family after you left?'
'Kane, I was locked away for months after Alex sold me, Then I came here and things didn't get much better. Christopher branded me. I get beat, Raped, And all of this is because of your siblings! Your family ruined my life!' I screamed in his face. I was so angry, So upset. For the first time, ever, I let myself admit that all of this.. was because of Parker Tavish.
I loved that little girl so much, But if I had never of met her, I would never have met Alex, Or been involved in any of this...
'What do you mean he branded you??' I looked away quickly. Crap. Why the hell did I say something like that?
'Nothing, It doesn't matter'. I went to step around him, But he grabbed my arm and pulled me back.
'Yes, it does! Tell me!'. I didn't want to. I didn't want him seeing what Chris had done.
'Kane, Please... Don't make me show you'. I kept my head pointing towards the floor, Hiding my face from him. Slowly, Closing my eyes, trying to keep the tears from falling. I had gotten over what Chris had done, But I didn't know if I was ever going to see Kane again, I didn't want him remembering my body like that. Scared
Suddenly I felt something cold cup my cheek and my eyes fluttered open. It was strange... Even though I knew his touch was like ice, The longer he kept his hand my face, The warmer it seemed to feel.
'Babe... Show me'. I let out a small sad sigh But shook my head. 'Will you at least tell me?'
'On my thigh... He used a knife and..' My voice lowered to barely a whisper, barely audible, 'He carved his name into my body'. I admitted. No one knew what he did. Except me and him... and now Kane.
'I'll f*****g kill him'. I closed my eyes again, Savoring the feeling of his touch, If anything happened, I'd definitely never see Kane again.
I jumped slightly in surprise when I felt him put his forehead against me As if to comfort me. I instantly wrapped my arms around him and held him close.
'I wish I had met you first'. I admitted. He didn't pull away, He didn't reject me He just copied my actions and wrapped his arms protectively around me too.
